Leaking washer, poor customer service
on April 25, 2016

This washer has been leaking since day one and is still leaking to this day. I did not realize it was leaking until 9 months after purchase when i started smelling a moldy odor in my laundry room. I moved out the wasing machine to find damaged floors and mold. After much research I I have now learned that LG machines are known for leaking out the air vent intermittently during the spin cycle. It leaks just enough that it doesnt run out the front and you never know it is leaking. Just do a search for LG vent leak and you will find many upset customers.
According to LG I need to use less soap. I use 2 tablespoons of HE tide detergent. This is well below the recommended amount the washer itself says to use. I went to best buy immediately after finding the leak and they told me to go to LG and nothing they could do. Going to LG is a waste of time as you just get someone reading from a script telling you to use less soap. I have had 2 repairmen out and both have told me it is a known problem with LG machines and they could not fix the problem. No washing machine should leak out of the air vent when using 2 tablespoons of soap. I have now had th machine for over a year and LG refuses to do anything with it. I have a towel stuffed behind the washer to catch the leak. I will never buy LG again and my trust in Best Buy is severly shaken.
