Love it...

Currently this the only way to access 4K content but there is plenty to access and it works great. I only have a few small issues. It is over priced (though it pairs beautifully with my Sony 4K tv), it doesn't have WiFi, and though I am using a LAN line with 50 MBps speed it is only drawing about 15 MBps so downloading a movie takes a long while. If you gave a movie night planned then download the night before so it is ready the next day; 4K movies are huge amounts of data, hence the 2TB built in HDD.

Better than the first ones!

Last two reviews are misleading...these headsets DO need a USB dongle that plugs into the PS3 just like the originals but this gives you wireless versatility for connection to other devices which works great! Sony will also has replacements for these should you loose it, but even if you did loose it then that is no reason to give the product a poor rating, these are headsets are Awesome!...much more volume control than the first, clarity is amazing, hidden Mic that can be muted, several preprogramed sound options for different listening experiences, clean clear bass that sounds great, and they are way more comfortable on your hard than the originals...las thing, they also include an option to plug into your vita or other devices with a headphones cable if you want to use them on a device that doesn't support USB, this is also great for on a plane where you can't use wireless headphones.

Awesome game with addictive multiplayer

If you have not gotten into the Assasins Creed video games by now then you are missing the boat...The story line is phenominal and if you do every mission and side mission in this game then you will definatly get your moneys worth...The first Assasins creed was great game but very short, the second AC was MUCH better with a lot more to do and a lot longer while thickening the story line. AC Brotherhood is the third game in the series continuing right where the second game left off and is truly a masterpiece...Now for the multiplayer, I am not much of a multiplayer game kind of guy but this game is so much fun it is addictive, I can not stop playing...Buy this game, you will not regret, it was worth every penny at $60 and now that it had dropped in price it is a steal.
What's great about it: Story line, visuals, controls, multiplayer
What's not so great: Having to wait for the next game to come out.

My Vengence ends now!

This game was absolutly everything I was hoping it would be and is destined to be this years Game of the Year. The graphics were breathtaking, the detail was incredible, and the ending was Epic to say the least. Absolutly loved the fluid combat transiton especially in-combo weapon transitions. The background scenes during game play are awesome to watch, the whole game is just as excitting to watch as it is to play. Fighting the titans and fighting other enemies while riding the moving environement(Titan) is pretty awesome.
There have been a few remarks as to the length of the game being short, I am not sure if it is because people just hate to see it end or if they run through the whole game with out truly appreciating what the game has to offer. It seems here lately people are just trying to see how fast they can get through a game which really doesn't make any sense unless your trying to obtain a trophy applicable to beating to the game in a certain time frame.
As far as reply value, like any good movie series, once you see the end it kind of loses the suspense it originally had but that doesn't mean it isn't worth playing again. There are additional skins you can download to change combat difficulty as well as you can always go to a harder mode like "Titan" or "Chaos," lets see how fast you get through the game on Chaos mode.
This game is truly awesome and defines what a good game should be, I hope other studios take heed to the way Santa Monica Studios operates and the level of care they put into the quality/playablity/enjoyability of a game.
Can't wait to see what Santa Monica has up there sleaves for a new series, they definatly have a creative team, I am sure it will be worth playing!
What's great about it: Absolutely everything!
What's not so great: sad to see the series end but we this was it.

Hell as it should be

My only complaint about the game was a couple frustrating jump sequences based off the camera angles. There have been numerous references to GOW and that is not a bad thing at all however it is easier from combat to puzzles than GOW and the "no camera control" is no different than GOW.
I am on my second playthrough of the game just to know out the rest of my trophies as it is impossible to knock them out in one playthrough. It is easy however to locate all collectable items, there is absolutley no need to purchase the guide for this game, assuming you are one who would normally purchase a guide. You will have to play through the game atleast twice in order to max out both the Holy and Unholy paths, not a huge deal as the game is very enjoyable and worth playing more than once.
Once you beat the game the first time you will unlock the Gates of Hell arena (50 levels of increasing difficulty that you have to play though in order to unlock that trophy). There is also multiple add-ons for the game to include 10,000 souls which is nice to start a game off with as this is what you use to purchase abilities based on the path you choose (Holy or Un-Holy), you can also download the Dark Forest area which is a medium difficulty puzzle Prequel you will need to beat to unlock 2 additional Trophies.
Overall I very much enjoyed this game and would recommend it especially for those if us that are pineing for the GOW III release.
What's great about it: Good visuals, exciting game play
What's not so great: Frustrating jump sequences

I really enjoyed this game, a lot more than the first. I played absolutely every aspect of the game (all side missions, main missions, and trophies) which takes a lot more than 12 hours as mentioned earlier. My only complaints where square movement, preprogrammed camera angles on certain sequences, and lag in the changing of contextual button controls). If you play the game you will know what I am talking about, contextual buttons change what their action is based on what the character is doing or what item he has equiped. This game has a lot of contextaul controls which adds to the versatility of character control despite the limited amount of buttons on your controller.
The Assassins Creed storyline is great, assassinating guards never gets old, especially from the air or stealth.
Play the game, it is worth the money. By the guide if you want to tackle all the side missions like obtaining the feathers, there is a hundred in the game!
What's great about it: A lot more to do
What's not so great: Camera angles, and contextual control lag

Stop dilly-dallying Mr. Bubbles!

I loved the versatility of the first game and this one is just as versatile, the new hacking system is a HUGE improvement as well.
The biggest reason I was turned on to this game was the chance to go back to Rapture and Kick-crack as a Big Daddy, with that in mind I am hugely disappointed. The drill and drill dash is awesome but consumes a ridiculous amount of fuel, I think they could have cut the need for drill fuel, every other weapon including plasmids require some type of rapidly depleting consumable (EVE/Ammo) you would think they would give you one useful weapon that you don't have to constantly replenish.
Your character is also surprisingly weak for being a Big Daddy especially in comparison to your average splicers. You have to almost empty a clip into a splicer to drop it but they can sh00t you a couple times and deplete all your health. With the addition of Brute splicers, Big Sisters, and the need to defend ADAM gathers from a insane amount of splicers it would have been nice if your character had one enemy type it could truly just OWN! I mean come on, you’re a BIG DADDY for crying out loud, random average splicers shouldn't stand a chance, if anything they should be toys for target practice. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my games having a certain level of difficulty, but I also love have something I can kick the tar out of just to demonstrate the character’s superiority on some level.
All-in-all I love the game, I just wish you character was as bad as he should be, they sure made it sound like he would be. If you likes the first Bio-Shock, then you will enjoy this installment as well. If you were counting on being able to kick the poo out everything you encounter because you’re a Big-Daddy, then you will be disappointed. You really weren't given any "edge" as a Big-Daddy, none of your weapons are really anymore powerful, your character is still just as frail, but hey......you look pretty cool!
What's great about it: Just as much fun as the first
What's not so great: For a Big Daddy, your charachter is pretty weak

Great game

So far I really like this game, it is very addictive. At first I was irratated becuase right off the bat there were things that I could see but could not figure out what they were or how to get them, there were areas that were innaccessable or chest that were out of reach. I assumed like most games there would be a way to reach them so I wasted a lot of time trying to get them, I figured once I passed the level there would be no way to return, finally I just abonded the cause. As you progress in the game you start to pick up diffrent items or abilities that allow you to access these areas, you will also gain the ability to go back to areas you have already played. In the end you end up traversing the environement in lenghty great detail.
The graphics in this game a very nice but as mentioned, a little cartoonish, not as good as GOW3 or Dante's Inferno but still pretty good. The story is an odd "What If" scenario loosely based on the Bible. You will definatly spend a lot of time playing this game, I pretty much played all weekend and I am only about half way through, maybe less. You are sure to get your $60 worth.
What's great about it: Epic battles, big weapons, great story
What's not so great: Jump could be better

Great Game with cool collectables and DLC
July 10, 2011
I got this last week on sale for $49 which was a great buy...It comes with some quality collectable content and the DLC is pretty good as well...especially the the Killzone 3 Theme...The game is loads of fun, I bought the sharp shooter as well (motion control combined with the 3D is a very rewarding and challenging experience). It took a little while (not long) to get used to the sharpshooter motion control but after some calibration it was awesome and at times is a work out. You do loose a little graphic sharpness when playing in 3D but I thought it was well worth it as the 3D looks great!..If you come across this set on sale it is well worth the coin.

Is Dust (going in and staying in) a big problem for PS3 systems?

I heard dust builds up a lot inside the system and lingers and leads to A LOT of PROBLEMS
I haven't heard of this becoming an issue and from my experience I haven't had a problem. However; I keep my ps3's out in the open to reduce heat and I dust regurlaly, same goes for any electronics.

How does the Playstion 3 console with Playstation 2 compatability compare to the Playstation 3 console without?

One will play PS2 games and one will not, trying to find the older backwards compatible PS3's is tough and chances are who ever owns it has played it alot which means it is near the end of its durability.

Best Buy Reward Zone Coupons

Can you use the best buy reward zone coupons on purchase of a PS3 system? I have a 10% off and it would help entice me to buy one of the 250GB systems at the Florence Al store.
Yes; but for the same amount of coin you can buy the 120GB and the Western Digital 500GB (5400RPM) 2.5 internal Hard Drive that is advertised below the PS3 on the website and now you have a 500GB PS3. Upgrading the Hard Drive on a PS3 is simple and is outlined in the PS3 Manual. It utilizes the standard 2.5 internal Laptop hard drive. You can use up to a 640GB internal with out problem, anything bigger is a little too fat to fit in the newer slim PS3. There is also a ton of youtube videos showing you exaclty what to do. I recommend doing this before you start playing games and saving content on the PS3 otherwise you will have to back that data up before you upgrade harddrives. Hope that helps.

firmware update to 3D

Will a firmware update in the future allow a ps3 to show blu-ray 3D movies?
Yes it will, atleast that is the word on the street. But right now best buy has a package deal with a 3D player that is worth the money. If you buy the TV and bluray player, you get 2 pairs of glasses and a movie. That would end up being cheaper than just buying the tv and having to pay for the glasses as they are $200 a pair...ouch!

Does the new PS3 "slim" have an improved blue ray diode or will this one fail every 6-12 months like the "fat" versions?

I have had the Gen 2 80GB (fat one) for about 18 months and haven't had a single problem with it. I watch Blu-Rays pretty much every day and play games on it 2-3 hours a day and haven't had a single problem. I also have the newer slim 250, I haven't had very long and can't attest to the diode but my point is you might have got a lemon. I never owned the Gen one so I can't say wether or not either of mine have a better diode than the gen 1, but I haven't had a probelm with either one.

Is ps3 worth it?

I have no need for blu ray
i already have an xbox
Not sure why you say you have no need for a Blu Ray. In the future you most likely will as it is quickly becoming the standard format. XBOX 360 will not support 3D gaming which is on the horizon, PS3 already does thanks to Blu-Ray...

If you are a gamer and you haven't checked out God of War then you are missing out, GoW 3 will be released in march and is only available on the PS3...

Playstation network is free...
