First time out, using just water and no coffee to flush out the new coffeemaker, it leaked half of the water from the bottom of the unit, all over the countertop. I tried again, hoping it was one-time, but same deal. Returned it for credit. Piece of junk.
What's great about it: Cheap, if it didn't leak
What's not so great: Useless because of leaks
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
