The first track on this album is an excellent way to catch your attention. The pianos and heavy guitars mix very well together, although I wish they would have taken advantage of the piano throughout the entire album. All of the songs on the record have an excellent song structure that will make you want to sing the chorus every time around. They are very good at mixing a heavy breakdown guitar sound with fancy guitar melodies over the top. And the drums stand out as well due to the fact that the beats are almost constantly changing and original. The musical sound is pretty close to a dozen pop rock albums, however these boys pull it off better than almost everyone. The feature that stands out the most to me about this CD is the vocals and lyrics. Although the lyrics can be cliche at times, they will still make you think in every track, and when Nick belts it you will get goose bumps on the back of your neck. Another reason I thought this album was great is the album art. It's really happy! All in all a good buy. I am proud to show this album to my friends.
What's great about it: A much better vocal album than the last.
What's not so great: The music is very good, but it doesn't really stand out from other bands.
One thing about this album that will blow you away, is the amazing vocal harmony in every song. They waste no time catching your attention at the begning of each tune and keep you focused until the very end. Most of the songs have rocking breakdowns that are just hard enough to get you pumped, but not so heavy that you loose interest. Some of the lyrics can seem typical and generic, however all of them are jam packed with emotion and deep meaning. If you like rock music at all, you will love this album. Get your hands on it immediately.
What's great about it: The music never gets old.
What's not so great: Lyrics could be a little better.
The first time I heard this music, I couldn't believe my ears. I had finally found a new favorite pop punk CD. This record swing swings from the table of my heart. The up beat music mixed with relatable lyrics creates a really nice listening experience. It will make you laugh and cry at the same time. You can almost feel the heart of the musicians beating when the kick and the snare hits. The guitars rock you just hard enough to shake you out of your seat and make you dance. Nick flourishes vocal melodies that will make your head spin in every track. If you don't buy this album you are either on tour and spending ridiculous amounts of money on gas, or you have completely lost your mind. Support these musicians.
Basically Dawn of the Dude's "International Time Travel with Magical Babes" sounds like rock and roll wrapped in euphoria. There are plenty of guitars, drums, vocal harmonies, horns, and synthesizers, to bring you the most happy up beat sounds that you have ever experienced, but don't take my word for it. Buy the album.
What's great about it: The music is awesome.
What's not so great: The title of the album has 13 sylabales, which is "unlucky."
