The tenth anniversary of the popular prison drama The Shawshank Redemption sees a deluxe DVD edition of the film hitting stores for the first time. The movie's image is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, and a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary from writer/director Frank Darabont, a making-of documentary, and a second documentary explaining how the film has attained such a high level of popularity, seeing as it was not exactly a blockbuster when it initially played in theaters. A Charlie Rose interview with Darabont and stars Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins, the movie's trailer, and a spoof of the film featuring sharks round out this first-rate release from Warner Bros.

This movie literally takes you into the past and lets you witness this story so beautifully, its just amazing. I can't explain how well the story flows. I like drama where there is actual substance that never lets you down, not a rehashed plot, or some gimmicks like lots of action and suspense just for the sake of such things. The story, the characters, the setting, the music score, all of it add up to this great experience that will leave you satisfied (unless you're one of those few that is supremely jaded). Sure, some may say this movie is depressing at points, but thats just part of the experience. I must say, it brings you up and down with, without leaving you down too long, and leaves you feeling inspired and emotional at the end (I don't like bad endings).
I've watched other 'prison' movies, but none have had as rich of a story as this.
For the Morgan Freeman fans out there, if you liked The Bucket List, I think you'll like this movie as well.
What's great about it: Great Acting and Cinematography, Excellent Plot
I'm always on the lookout for good album, but unfortunately you usually get a few good songs and the rest leave you unsatisfied. This album is not one of those.
Listening to this album is almost like watching a play, as the album artwork seems to evoke, but it doesn't necessarily come off as music for a musical. All the songs are just as good as the 'Poison Arrow' or 'Look of Love' singles. If you like the sound of 80's pop, this album is definitely one to add to your list of albums to get.
This was one of the first albums I got into when I started listening to techno/dance music. The hit songs 'The Sign', 'Don't Turn Around', and 'All That She Wants' will be familiar with those who only know of Ace of Base from the radio during the 90's, however the other songs on this album are just as good (if not better since they aren't played out).
'Dancer in a Day Dream', 'Happy Nation', 'Living in Danger', and 'Wheel of Fortune' are just as good as the other hits. This isn't an album with filler songs.
What's great about it: Very good mix of techno/dance with reggae influence
