The hit teen comedy Mean Girls debuts on DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the film's original theatrical aspect ratio. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a second English soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. English and Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by director Mark Waters, screenwriter Tina Fey, and producer Lorne Michaels. They provide many humorous moments during their discussion, which is dominated by the director and the screenwriter. They are full of praise for the cast. Deleted scenes with optional commentary by Waters and Fey, a blooper reel, three making-of featurettes, and the film's original theatrical trailer round out this release. This is a solid release from Paramount.

The 1980s return in all their gaudy glory in this hilarious romantic comedy starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, arriving on DVD in an extra feature-intensive disc from New Line Home Video that is sure to bring back those fond pastel memories of the Reagan era. Viewable in either the original 1.85:1 widescreen theatrical aspect ratio (enhanced for 16 x 9 TVs) or 1.33:1 full-screen pan-and-scan, this disc also features optional closed-captioned English Dolby Digital 5.1 or French Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks and selectable English, Spanish, and French subtitles. Relive the "Me Decade" with five '80s karaoke songs, including Billy Idol's "White Wedding" and the Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight," an '80s music mania trivia game, biographies, filmographies, and a wedding album photo gallery.

John G. Avildsen's rodeo film 8 Seconds comes to DVD with a pair of transfers. The widescreen anamorphic transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1, and is preferable in every way to the standard full-frame transfer. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include the original theatrical trailer as well as filmographies of the cast and crew. This is a solid, though unspectacular release from New Line.

Martin Short gets in touch with his inner child in this comedy, which gets a simple presentation for its release on DVD. Clifford has been given a pan-and-scan transfer to disc at the full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1. Viewers may choose between the original English-language audio track in Dolby Digital Surround and a dubbed Spanish version in Dolby Digital Stereo; optional subtitles in English, Spanish, and French are also included. As a bonus, the film's original trailer also appears.

Paramount's DVD edition of Silver Bullet is likely to confound the film's fans because it combines a high-quality transfer with a maddening lack of extras. The best element of this disc is its video transfer, which restores Silver Bullet to its 2.35:1 widescreen glory with razor-sharp detail and plenty of rich color. This transfer does a beautiful job re-creating the rich textures of Armando Nannuzzi's photography, especially during the fog-shrouded night sequences. Audio is limited to a mono soundtrack that lacks the excitement of a good stereo recording, but is skillfully mixed and recorded. There is also a French audio track and an English subtitles option. Beyond that, Silver Bullet has nothing else to offer -- no commentary, no trailer, no nothing. Considering the film's concurrent British DVD release includes the film's theatrical trailer and a full-length commentary from director Daniel Attias, it's baffling that Paramount made no attempt to flesh out this pricey disc to special-edition status. In the end, Silver Bullet is worthwhile for the film's fans thanks to its excellent transfer, but it is also likely to annoy said fans with its bare-bones presentation.

The success of Mark Waters' remake of Freaky Friday certainly helped the decision to release this fine DVD of the original. The widescreen anamorphic transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1, and will be a treat for anyone who has only seen this movie on television. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. A French soundtrack is available as well. Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a featurette hosted by Jodie Foster in which she reminisces about the making of the film, and a memory game. Disney has also made a two-pack featuring both versions of the film available for purchase.

oh man freaky friady the orginal movie from 1976 starring Jodie Foster and Barbrerah Harris i rather this one cause its much cooler to me besides doing a remake on a flim is sorta hard it easy very easy the 1976 movie starts as mother and daughter switching places on friday the 13th the mom is at her house in the kitchen and the teenage daughter is at a diner eating icecream meanwhile while the mother is smoking a ciguarte they both say at the exact say time i wish i could trade places with her for just one day" and suddleny mom is daughter while daughter is the mom which is known as vise versa movies with body swapping are the coolest movies ever made example in 1987 there was Like father Like son same as freaky friday olny with son and father then there was wish upon a star from 96 2 sisters traded places in each others bodies and there was the 93 version of freaky friday with Shelly Long and Gaby Hoofman but the best has to be the orginal Freaky Friday from 1976 i mean the 2003 movie was good but not as good as this one i personaly recomend this freaky friday besides its 70's cool hair grovy clothes and words like far out!
What's great about it: has subtitles
