Fast and fun

MK9 was a really strong comeback and MKX just seeks to make it even better. A huge assortment of characters along with beautiful animations and movesets. This is a whole new game in the competitive spirit, as well as the retail one.

This futuristic release includes the complete eleventh season of the sci-fi series Red vs. Blue, following the bizarre adventures of two equally inept armies as they battle for a section of galactic real estate known as the "Blood Gulch."

Good, but not great

After the craziness of season 10, season 11 pulls back the throttle significantly. The snappy humor is back with a bigger plot being unveiled towards the last few episodes, but it lacks the animations and huge action scenes from last season so bear that in mind.

Crazy, action-filled fun!

Taking a bit of a departure from the usual standing around and slinging insults to each other, RvB changes gears to a fully animated show following the mysterious project freelancer.
The animations are definitely a predecessor to RWBY, so still rough in some parts, but the story is fantastically written on all levels. One of my favorite seasons.

Monster Hunter lite version
on April 11, 2015

Very similar to Soul Sacrifice and Monster Hunter, but with its own unique system for fighting and gathering resources. PS4 version looks great and doesn't feel like it's simply upscaled from Vita version.
Story is a bit iffy, and mission areas could use some more variety, but it's more straightforward demon hunting rather than the complexity of Monster Hunter.

Maverick auteur Takashi Miike spins this unsettling, blood-soaked yakuza yarn adapted from Hideo Yamamoto's cult manga Koroshiya 1. When mob don Anjo mysteriously disappears, his protégé Kakihara (Tadanobu Asano) vows to find the people responsible. Sporting a blond head of hair and a yawning, pierced slash for a mouth, Kakihara is no ordinary gangster and his methods are equally unorthodox; he impales one poor suspect's naked body on a series of meat hooks and then dumps hot oil on him. Meanwhile, a shadowy character known as Jijii (played by director Shinya Tsukamoto) deftly manipulates, for his own nefarious ends, Ichi (Nao Omori), an unbalanced but ruthless killing machine clad in a superhero suit. Pining for the sadistic abuse of his boss, Kakihara learns of Ichi from a Hong Kong hostess (Alien Sun) and sets out to find this fabled butcher, hoping he can inflict the pain that Kakihara craves. This film was screened at the 2001 Toronto Film Festival as a part of the Midnight Madness program.

Definitely not for the Faint of heart

I'm a fairly tolerant movie goer when it comes to psycho Asian films and I'm no stranger to Miike's works, but this has definitely topped the list of films he's done. You follow the twin stories of Ichi and Kakihara as they slowly but surely work towards each other for a final showdown. During the film, Miike takes you on a brutal and fantastic ride of twists, turns, and interconnected characters. It does, however, involve some pretty intense "love" scenes and uses violence to an insane degree (nothing less for the famed Takashi Miike) but it really does work for this film. If you've seen Gozu or even OldBoy, then you'd probably like this film. If this is your first foreign film, you might want to try something a little different. As far as amazing brutality and twistedness goes, Ichi is brilliant!
What's great about it: Great Acting, More Miike twistedness
What's not so great: Some of the violence is a little over the top
