Dio's Grand Finale
on November 16, 2010

The unexpected final performance of Ronnie James Dio is amazing. Who knew that he would succumb to cancer less than a year after this show?
Tony, Geezer and Vinny rock hard to accompany Dio's powerful vocals. This DVD has great visual and audio quality for a live DVD. And the camera never fixates on one performer. You get plenty of angles to see how much these guys rock the faces off of the audience members! R.I.P Ronnie James Dio!

Contains one heck of a song

I was watching the movie "World's Greatest Dad" and this song was played during a scene. It fit the movie perfectly and invoked a lot of emotion. I downloaded it almost immediately. I sampled the rest of the album but found I Hope I Become a Ghost to be the best song.
What's great about it: I Hope I Become a Ghost
What's not so great: Not sure about the rest

If you are a fan of Robin Williams' off kilter movies like "Where Dreams May Come" and "Death To Smoochy", then you will absolutely love this one.
Williams' plays a high school teacher that just can't seem to fit into his teenage son's social life. His son has the same problem in school with his classmates, but he doesn't seem to mind. An unfortunate event develops that causes the whole school to love the both of them. The ending of the film will surprise you. The movie is not a blockbuster, but any independent film lover will think it is.
What's great about it: A great story about a father and son that just don't click
What's not so great: It's not available in stores.

BEST TELEVISION SERIES EVER!!!!!

Adrian Paul is by far every woman's McDreamy (pun intended). He embodies the caring immortal that defends himself when need be. He doesn't go out looking for other immortals to vanquish, they find him.
The acting is often cheesy but you just overlook it when you watch Adrian Paul protray Duncan MacLeod (pronounced McCloud) of the MacLeod Clan (same clan as Connor MacLeod from the movies but 75 years apart).
This is a show that you either love or hate and I love.
It is available on Blu-Ray as of December 8th, 2009 but I can't find it through Best Buy.
What's great about it: Adrian Paul!!!
What's not so great: B-rate acting, Best Buy isn't currently selling the Blu-Ray version

This album is a classic. I was only in middle school when this album was released, but it is still a great one to listen to today. My copy was stolen and I'm looking to buy this to replace it. There are so many tracks that I could play on repeat.
What's great about it: all tracks are great

I learned a lot about the animals in Galapagos. Their lives are completely dependant on the weather and if the cold water currents from the UK do not arrive, many animals on the island suffer.
It shows the struggle and very delicate balance between wildlife and the environment. It tugs at your heart and makes you think about what man does to the environment and how we can help to keep such wonders as The Galapagos.
Be warned, you might want to plan a tour of this awesome place!
What's great about it: Lots of interesting facts
What's not so great: feels like your in a classroom

Adam Sandler is not only a funny actor, but he is a great director. This movie is a Happy Madison production and one of the best.
I personally believe this movie launched Jonah Hill's career. And Nick Swardson has seen quite a bit more of the spolight after this. The characters are hilarious and way left field! I think I will quote this movie into my 80s!
If you like so called "stupid humor", this is the creme of the crop!
What's great about it: Highly Quotable, no big name actors to ruin it!
What's not so great: I wish it was longer or never ended!

Anne Rice is a master when it comes to novels. I have read almost all of her novels in the Vampire Chronicles. Although all the actors were too old for their characters, they did an astounding job. Brad Pitt did a great job of playing the confused and tender Louis de Pointe du Lac.
If you are like me and hated the film Queen of the Damned, then "Interview" will reclaim Anne Rice's genius. I hope that any other Anne Rice adaptation will be this good if not better.
What's great about it: One of the best film adaptations of a book
What's not so great: movie based on a novel, which means some things were left out

Dark laughs penetrate director Danny De Vito's black comedy Death to Smoochy. The film is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and sports a very solid transfer. The colors (lots and lots of them) and black levels are all detailed and well saturated without any imperfections to mar the image. Overall, Warner has done a very nice job with this film's picture. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround in English and French. This is a very pleasant 5.1 mix that features a good amount of directional effects and sounds. While the film isn't a heavy action movie, there are some great effects that pop out of both the front and rear speakers. All aspects of this mix are free and clear of any hiss or distortion. Also included on this disc are English, French, and Spanish subtitles. Death to Smoochy sports a fair amount of extra features, starting with a lively commentary track by director Danny De Vito and director of photography Anastas Michos. This is a very informative commentary that features De Vito slathering the cast and crew with praise, as well as stories about the film's production. Ten deleted scenes (with title card explanations) are included that allow the viewer to see what ended up on the editing room floor. "The Magic Cookie Bag" includes five galleries (production, costume, set design, behind-the-scenes photos, etc.) while a reel of bloopers and outtakes shows how funny the cast can be when they flub their lines. Finally, there is a neat behind-the-scenes documentary with tons of footage from the shoot, three trailers for the film, some DVD-ROM content, cast and director highlights, and a pointless "Interactive Ice Show" that allows the viewer to rearrange the angles from that specific scene.

Who knew China was so pretty

This dvd makes me want to visit China even more. Just like North America's land, China has areas of desert, rainforest, mountains, and rich plains. A great diversity for one of the world's oldest civilizations.
Too bad almost every species of animal filmed was accompanied with the narrator stating that "this animal is found very tasty to the Chinese and is now on the Endangered species list." Hopefully such statements will encourage the world to help prevent extinction.
What's great about it: exotic landscapes and wildlife
What's not so great: some scenes repeated in multiple chapters

On DVD movies what does "dubbed subtitle" mean? Also, what does AC3 mean?

it is when the film company dubs another lanquage. So if you love the Italian Job because you are Italian, then you can chose to hear it in Italian.
AC3 is just the file format that allows this and other sounds to playback.
