This DVD is the most hilarious thing ever. I have not watched any of the extras, just the episode, so far. It had constant laugh out loud moments and MANY outrageous scenes. It's what you would expect from an "Always Sunny" christmas special; a very skewed idea of Christmas, scheming, and much laughter. This is a must have for any "Sunny" fan or anybody not familiar with the show and would be a good first exposure. Highlights include each of the characters childhood Christmas traditions, and Charley's visit to Santa Clause.
311 is one of the only bands I've ever known that can have NINE studio albums and consistently be great on each of them. Their previous album, Don't Tread On Me, was a dissapointing effort by 311 but was totally redeemed by this new release, Uplifter. It has huge production and everything you'd expect from 311. That being some hard rockers (ex:"Something Out Of Nothing"), a couple of mellow songs (ex: "Two Drops In The Ocean"), throw back rap-rock ("Jackpot"), and breaking new ground (the swining' "Too Much Too Fast"). There is excellent vocal work both by Nick and SA, who provide many memorable melodies and harmonies, and of course great guitar work by Tim Mahoney and the always funky P-Nut on the bass. Their drummer, Chad Sexton, is excellent as usual, notably the beat he provides in the danceable reggae/rocker "Mix It Up". The rock songs are some of their most rocking in recent memory, such as "Never Ending Summer" which is an excellent rockin summer anthem with a guitar solo reminiscent of the good ol' Metallica days. The mellow songs have new sounds and textures not quite heard by 311 before and they really step up the musicianship. My personal favorite track is "Daisy Cutter", with instantly relatable lyrics with a melody and hook you will not get out of your head. This album really touches a lot of bases and is easily the strongest 311 album of the past 10 years. I reccomend this album to not only 311 fans, but any fan of rock music looking for a diverse and feel good record.
