Exactly what I wanted

I have been reading reviews for months before I picked out this camera. I wanted a nest cam since I have a nest thermostat and smoke alarms however while I liked everything else about the nest cam, I did not want to pay $10 a month for recordings, and without paying that $10 a month there was no way to record anything that happened, even if I was watching it as it happened on the app. All I wanted was a camera that could capture video when motion was detected while we are away on vacations or more than a few hours, or to check in on our puppy that we are soon getting. I don't want one that stores the video on a memory card as a thief could just remove that on their way out. This camera is perfect. For what I want at least. It was easy to set up. It has a long enough power cord to place it where I needed it. No batteries to replace. And it immediately stores the video clips in the "cloud" when it detects motion and these are viewable for seven days. There is no monthly fee for this and the app allows you to download the clip to your phone if you need to keep it longer than seven days. The video picture seems fine and I had no problem connecting to our Wi-Fi and setting it up. It is easy to arm and disarm it through the app. I can run through the room and within five seconds I get an alert on my phone that there was motion detected. I can then view it on the app or wait about 30 seconds and Arlo emails me a link in my email that goes directly to the video that was recorded. I thought it would cut off me running through the room since I did it so quickly however it started recording about five seconds before I ran through and therefore captured everything. I set it to record 30 seconds when motion is detected but you can pick from 10 seconds up to two minutes depending on your preference. The status light on the front of the camera can be turned off easily in the app so the camera can be hidden more easily if desired. I tested out the night vision briefly and while I don't have anything to compare it to, it seems like it worked well. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and like that I don't have to pay a monthly fee.

Im glad I finally just ignored the bad reviews....

I have been contemplating buying Quicken Essentials for Mac for several months. I would have bought it a long time ago if I hadnt read all the bad reviews online that it gets. I have been using Quicken 2007 for Mac for a few years and needed to switch to something else, as it is not compatible with the Lion OS that I am upgrading to soon. I personally didnt care much for Quicken 2007. I disliked how every account was in a separate box/window that never was the same size as the others, and that I couldnt change the order of the accounts at the top of the program, ect. All fairly minor things.
I finally bought Quicken Essentials and Im glad i did. Its not the best program in the world, but it easily exceeded the low expectations I had due to all the bad reviews Ive read.
I must say that I really only use my financial software program as a checkbook to keep track of our checking account, savings accounts, and credit card transactions. I dont track investments with it. I dont print checks. I dont pay bills online with it (i use our online banking with Chase Bank for that). So for those of you looking for more than that, there may be a lot lacking in this program that just doesnt pertain to me.
The program installed without any problems. The instructions were clear on how to convert my Quicken 2007 file to the new program. All the accounts loaded without any problems. It took about a half hour for everything. Then I spent about that long adjusting some of the settings/columns/ect, So far I like it better than Quicken 2007.
Some reviews said check numbers dont show up... They dont to start with, but there is a setting for fields (check # is one of them). All you do is click it while you are on that account and its there! Works fine! And the field is there everytime I go back into the program, you only have to do it once.
Also, it says right on the box (in large print!) that you CANT use bill pay through Quicken and that you CANT manually enter investments with this program. So you cant complain about that if you bought something and didnt read what it says in big letters right on the back cover!
Overall Im happy I finally just bought the program.... Now I can upgrade to Lion!
Note: Before buying Quicken Essentials, I tried the trial version of iBank and did not care for it.
What's great about it: Looks nice, simple to use.
What's not so great: Limited functions (but it even says that on the box if you just read!)

Best Mouse Ever!

You pay a little more for this mouse than others but it is worth it. we use our mouse with an apple mac mini. the mouse responds immediately once you start using it, even if its been idle a while. it allows you to scroll up and down and left and right just by moving your finger around on it. it allows you to right click by clicking on the right side of it, so it acts like a two button mouse even though there are no buttons. you wont be disappointed. weve had ours for over a month and the battery life is at 77%. we use our computer a lot and we dont ever turn the mouse power button off when not using it, so i feel this is decent battery life. another great apple product!
What's great about it: Simple to use. Simple to set up. Nice appearance and no buttons to get stuck or have problems with.
What's not so great: Nothing that ive noticed so far.... battery life seems ok so far.

The incredibly small, wearable music player has a clickable control pad. And VoiceOver tells you the song title or playlist name.

Good Luck syncing
By MzDisappointed from Bronx, NY
I bought this item twice. I bought one from an online site and it didn't work. Then I went to Best Buy and bought another one hoping it would sync with the Itunes I already had installed on my computer from my last device the (80G# generation 6 Ipod classic. Well, neither devices synced with Itunes on my computer. I tried all the recommended troubleshooting advice that was indicated. From downloading Itunes again to dianogstic test of my computer. I am so disappointed that it won't register.
So I can't and won't give a bad review so I just put one star and didn't elaborate on the four catagories under overall rating because I have no clue if this is a bad product. However I hope you have good luck with syncing. Hopefully #for you) it does and it's a good buy.

It has a wire in all the photos. Is it truly wireless?

The Arlo Q has a power cord only. It's probably about 10 feet long I estimate. It connects via Wi-Fi to your network and clips are sent to the cloud that way. The original Arlo cameras have no wires except for the base station that you attach to your network. Wireless ones are nice and allow them to be easily placed in most any area however every few months you have to change the batteries which can get expensive overtime.
