Having listened to this group since their debut album, End of Silence, I have been hooked. Since the announcement of this album, I've been wanted to see if this album could live up to their sophomore effort, Innocence and Instinct...it does!
The CD starts on a very heavy song, Feed the Machine, and stays relatively hard until the 6th track, which brought tears to my eyes (listen to the lyrics and you'll understand why). The last 2 tracks do seem a bit out of order, as the group placed two soft songs at the end, which don't really bookend the album well, but the final track, Hymn for the Missing, is a great closer.
Red continues to mature and this album reflects that. Its still in the same vein as the two previous efforts, but the lyrical content and level of musicianship on display makes this their best album, in my humble opinion. Definitely worth picking up!
What's great about it: Incredible sound, deep lyrics
What's not so great: Nothing
