The Perfect Macbook Alternative
on June 27, 2017
Posted by: PaulWall
I needed a new laptop for light work and school since I quit gaming and sold my desktop. I was headed to Best Buy to possibly purchase the New 2017 Macbook with the 256GB SSD for $1499. I decided to look at few windows machines before I headed to the little Apple section at my store. I saw this surface laptop and it had the specs I wanted, which was a 7th gen i5 and a 256gb SSD. I saw the price and was impressed by the build, screen, and keyboard. I did a quick google search on my phone to look at the reviews and they were all positive. It had everything I needed compared to the Macbook at $200 less.
After comparing the two, I couldnt justify paying an extra $200 for the Macbook, which has a faster SSD and a higher end i5/integrated graphics as well as a brighter screen. These were small things you would not notice compared to the Surface laptop other then the SSD transfer speeds. You get a touch screen with the Surface laptop and I think the keyboard feels more natural then the Macbook's. The speakers on both machines get surprisingly loud and clear from such small laptops.
Anyways, I left the store with the Surface laptop and am very happy with my purchase. Microsoft made a great machine that's on par to compete with the macbooks!

I would recommend this to a friend!

Vertical Line on screen after 33 days
By Bobs2424
This TV was delivered to us the first time on July 1, 2016 from the Folsom, CA store. It didn't work so we refused delivery. A second TV was delivered on July 6, 2016. After 33 days the TV has developed a black vertical line from the top to the bottom of the screen. We called Best Buy and spoke to Matt. Best Buy won't replace the TV because their return policy is 15 days. 15 DAYS. This is terrible service. We had ordered another TV from Best Buy this week for another room in our home and we are canceling that order. We won't be doing business with Best Buy again.

You are mad because you signed the receipt saying you agreed to a 15 day return policy? Wow, really?

Experience stunning pictures and vivid colors on this 65-inch LG OLED 4K smart TV with HDR. Since the pixels can be individually controlled, the blacks appear deeper and the colors more vibrant. This LG OLED 4K smart TV uses webOS 3.0 to let you easily connect to streaming services and mobile apps.

Best LED TV out there, bar none
By VirginiaBuyer
To get to the bottom line--OLED is the best option out there in TVs. My prior TV was a 54" Panasonic G10 plasma and this TV's picture is better in all respects (in fairness my plasma was 9 years old).
The OLED series was not on my mind when I decided to invest in a new TV for a bigger screen for my basement (aka the movie room in the house). After initial research the Samsung 8000 series was highly recommended. I read the concerns over the lack of deep blacks and off-angle viewing, but purchased it anyway thinking I could live with it. I set up the Samsung aside my plasma and there was no comparison. The Samsung's blacks were dark greys/blues and the color shift off-center too noticeable to forgive. Mind you the setting is abasement with a sectional so there will be off-center viewing. What really turned me off was when I rented Deepwater Horizon--there is a scene set against a smokey backdrop and the Samsung displayed large blotchy grays across the screen as it appeared it could not make up its mind what to show. And yes, I did calibrate the TV.
Took it back and then looked over the OLED TVs. Mind you there is a big price difference, so that can't be ignored. But if you can make the leap, you will be getting a far superior viewing experience. The blacks are black--you can tell as any letterboxing shows a true black in the top and lower bars. The contrast is stunning and night scenes (think Gotham) simply pop. Regular LEDs achieve contrast through brighter whites, but the OLEDs achieve it simply by starting with a true black (the way it should be). The colors are extremely vibrant and this is where the OLED bests my plasma by far. Between the good contrast and the vivid colors, the screen "pops" by providing good depth perception. This really enhances the viewing experience. Mind you, I have only done some basic settng calibrations and I haven't even touched a true 4K program as my viewing has all been done through 720p or 1080p video.
Lastly, the off axis viewing is excellent--equivalent to my plasma. You can almost sit aside the TV ans the picture quality does not show any change in colors or contrast or brightness. Excellent.
The bottom line is this TV is the best picture technology out there, and if picture quality matters, this is the only way to go.

plasma and oled

please do not compare any type of lcd/led/oled to a plasma again. plasma tvs are garbage, thats why they are no longer being produced. i'd go into detail but i'd be wasting my time. thanks.
