The inspirational follow-up to Hoosiers, Rudy arrives on DVD with a fine 1.85:1 widescreen anamorphic transfer. There are English soundtracks in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround, as well as a Spanish Dolby Digital Stereo track. English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Korean, and Thai subtitles are accessible. Supplemental features include three exclusive featurettes, an isolated music score, bonus trailers, and talent files. Considering the real-life Rudy is now a motivational speaker, it is a bit surprising there is not more of him on this release; regardless, the DVD will please those who find strength in this heartwarming tale.

This is a great feel good story about a football player with little talent but a big heart.
Kevin Smith's slackers get anything but a lazy DVD delivery. Fans of View Askew Productions should enjoy this special edition, dual-disc package that retires the love 'em or loathe 'em stoners. Disc one presents Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back in a widescreen 2.35:1 presentation and Dolby Digital 5.1 English or French soundtrack (all the better to hear the cussing, my dear). You can also listen to an amusing "Feature Commentary" with director Kevin Smith, producer Scott Mosier, and actor Jason Mewes, as well as view "Sneak Peaks" of 40 Days and 40 Nights, Clerks, Chasing Amy, Clerks Uncensored, the Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back soundtrack, and Dimension Cutting Edge Films. The good stuff comes on disc two, where the bulk of the bonus material comes from 42 deleted scenes (many of them yanked by the MPAA), introduced by Kevin Smith and guests. There's also a humorous "Gag Reel"; two music videos ("I Got High" by Afroman and "Kick Some Ass" by Stroke 9); "Morris Day and the Time -- Learnin' the Moves" and a "Guide to Morris Day and the Time" feature; storyboards; and the requisite bios and filmographies (an Easter Egg can be found at the top of Jason Mewes page). Still galleries give an on-the-set look, reveal the "Birth of a Poster," and delve into the Jay and Silent Bob comics. "The Secret Stash" is a collection of outtakes featuring Judd Nelson, Will Farrell, Jon Stewart, and Ben Affleck. Two Internet trailers and six TV spots round out the promo part, while Comedy Central's "Reel Comedy: Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" and a "Behind the Scenes Featurette" gives an insider's look at the first movie to bring Jay and Silent Bob to the forefront of a film, after making numerous appearances in Smith's other movies, and even a cameo in Scream 3. The only thing that could please fans more is the upcoming Clerks tenth anniversary release.

The sequel to the adrenaline-charged surprise hit The Fast and the Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious makes its way to DVD for the first time with this release. The film is presented in a widescreen 2.35:1 anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio (a full-screen edition with the same features was released simultaneously) and the English soundtrack has been rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, as have the dubbed French and Spanish soundtracks. Subtitles are also available in Spanish and French. Among the special features included on the disc are a feature-length audio commentary track by director John Singleton, deleted scenes, an outtake reel, a trailer for the video game based on the movie, and four featurettes.

This collection of funnyman Chris Farley's greatest hits from his years on Saturday Night Live gets a solid presentation for its release on DVD. Saturday Night Live: The Best of Chris Farley has been transferred to disc in its original full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1 and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo. No multiple language options have been included, though the clips are closed-captioned in English. Bonus materials include photo galleries, outtakes, unseen dress rehearsal footage, and more.

Chris was one of the best actors that was ever on SNL. His skits were hilarious!!
One of the best presentations of a Tim Burton film on DVD, Edward Scissorhands features a widescreen, anamorphic transfer, Dolby Digital 4.0 and Surround Audio, and an array of supplements that complement Burton's bittersweet tale of a gentle misfit with blades where his hands should be. The disc includes commentaries by Burton and composer Danny Elfman, a brief "making of" featurette, concept sketches, the original theatrical trailer, and TV commercials, all of which lend different perspectives on the film's creative processes. As with his Pee-Wee's Big Adventure and Sleepy Hollow commentaries, Burton's engaging track focuses mainly on the film's thematic and artistic concepts instead of technical information. Though he's not nearly as talkative as Burton, Elfman's track reaffirms just how intertwined his composing is with Burton's filmmaking process. Burton's spindly, evocative concept sketches of Edward and the inventor who created him both hint at the final versions of the characters and show how much Edward Scissorhands' production and design contributed to the film. Likewise, the featurette includes an interview with screenwriter Caroline Thompson, who wrote the screenplay around those same drawings. All in all, the DVD of Edward Scissorhands gives the film the treatment it deserves, as well as the ideas and the people behind it.

This was a breakout movie for Johhny Depp. He did a very good job in this movie. I really enjoyed it.
Director Steven Soderbergh updates the '60s "Rat Pack" classic Ocean's 11 into a modern day star-studded caper. Warner has done an excellent job on this 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. Sporting sharp colors, detailed black levels, and solid fleshtones, this picture looks very clean without nary an imperfection to be found. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround in English and French and is a very solid mix. This soundtrack features many instances of directional sound usage in both the front and rear speakers. All aspects of the dialogue, effects, and music are free of any excessive distortion or hiss. Also included on this disc are subtitles in English, French, and Spanish. Ocean's 11 features a nice load of special features, even if they are a tad meager by today's blockbuster DVD standards. First up there are two commentary tracks, the first by director Steven Soderbergh and screenwriter Ted Griffin and a second by actors Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Andy Garcia. Both of these tracks are fun and engaging with the second track by the actors leaning more towards entertaining while the first track tends to be much more on the technical side. "The Making of Ocean's 11" is a 15-minute featurette that includes interviews with many of the cast and crew members who worked on the film. This is a typically bland promotional short that doesn't give much insight into the making of the film. "The Look of the Con" is a ten-minute featurette that includes interviews with costume designer Jeffrey Kurland and a few sketches of the wardrobes and costumes. Finally there are a few short resumes on the cast and crew, a theatrical trailer, and two teaser trailers for the film.

The best of the Ocean's but still not enough to keep my into it the entire time. I got bored throughout.
Yes!! It is very much worth it. They make your tv look the very best that it can in your setting. I would recommend anyone doing this with a tv 42" or larger.
