Howie Mandel obeys his animal instincts in this comedy, which gets a streamlined presentation for its release on DVD. Walk Like a Man has been transferred to disc in the full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1, and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Mono. The dialogue is in English, with optional subtitles in English, Spanish, and French. As a bonus, this release also includes the film's original trailer.

Beeban Kidron cross-dressing comedy To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English, Spanish, and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. There are no subtitles on this release, but the English soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include deleted scenes. This is a fine release from Universal that does offer excellent sound and picture quality even though it is short on meaningful extras.

Michael Apted's under-appreciated Thunderheart comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. Subtitles are accessible in both of those languages. Supplemental materials are limited to a theatrical trailer. While the extras leave something to be desired, the sound and picture quality are solid enough that this Columbia/TriStar disc should not disappoint those looking for something outside of the Hollywood mainstream.

Jonathan Lynn's Clue has gained something of a cult following since its original release in 1985. The disc of the film offers a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Mono. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include the theatrical trailer. The gimmick when the film was initially released was that it had three different endings. When the film began to air on television, the three endings were combined into one finale. The disc offers the viewer the choice to view any of the three conclusions. This is a fine release from Paramount, but they really could have done more with it, especially the soundtrack.

Another Stallone movie that is a bust. I'd skip if it you haven't seen it yet.

Robert Longo's big-screen adaptation of cyberpunk godfather William Gibson's Johnny Mnemonic comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. A closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while Spanish and French soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. English and Spanish subtitles are accessible. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence. This disc looks and sounds great, which, when coupled with the inexpensive list price, makes this disc worthwhile for any genre enthusiast.

There's not a lot of adornment on the DVD release of Trading Places, the hysterical Eddie Murphy, Dan Aykroyd comedy. Thank goodness Trading Places is a film worth watching. The DVD is widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound in English and Dolby Surround in English and French mono. It's also closed-captioned and subtitled in English.

Jason Bloom directs Pauly Shore in the comedy Bio-Dome. The film comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. A closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while French and Spanish soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. Subtitles are accessible in all three of those languages as well. Supplemental materials are limited to the original theatrical trailer. MGM/UA has done a solid job with this film, especially when one considers the inexpensive list price.

Les Mayfield directs Brendan Fraser in the fish-out-of-water comedy Encino Man. The film comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround and a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. There are no subtitles, but the English soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include the theatrical trailer and a making-of featurette. This is a fine, if unremarkable release from Disney/Buena Vista.

Officially based on two of Frank Herbert's science fiction novels, Dune Messiah and Children of Dune, this three-part, six-hour miniseries was actually a sequel to the Sci-Fi Channel's multi-part adaptation of the original Dune. The story was set in the year 10,103. Having deposed the evil emperor of the desert planet Arrakis, the messianic Paul Atreides (Scott Newman) was firmly installed as the planet's supreme "Muad'Dib," as well as the guardian of Arrakis' life-enhancing spice supply. Unfortunately, Paul's efforts to unify his kingdom have had the residual consequences of bloodshed and tyranny. It fell to Paul's twin children, Ghanima (Jessica Brooks) and Leto II (James McAvoy), to thwart the villainous machinations of the planet's deposed matriarch, Princess Wensicia (Susan Sarandon), and the beautiful, but insane, Princess Alia (Daniela Amavia). Like the previous Dune miniseries, this one was decked out with superlative special effects, excellent performances, on-target direction, and (most vital for any Herbert adaptation) a thoroughly logical and coherent teleplay. First telecast March 16, 2003, Frank Herbert's Children of Dune was clearly designed as the pilot for a weekly series.

IS IT WORTH PAYING SOMEONE TO CALABRATE OR TWEEK THE SETTINGS ON MY SAMSUNG 52A650 LCD

Yes!! It is very much worth it. They make your tv look the very best that it can in your setting. I would recommend anyone doing this with a tv 42" or larger.
