Oliver Stone's bone-crunching football film comes to DVD with a vivid 2.35:1 widescreen anamorphic transfer. The soundtrack is in Dolby Digital 5.1. Subtitles are available in English and French. In addition to the usual theatrical trailer and bios on the cast and director, the disc includes the documentary "Full Contact: The Making of Any Given Sunday." Rapper and actor LL Cool J provides a music video for "Shut 'Em Down." There is also a handful of DVD-ROM features.

The funniest man on television returns as season two of the wildly popular Chappelle's Show arrives on DVD courtesy of Comedy Central Home Video. All 13 episodes are presented in 1.33:1 full-frame as originally aired and offer audio rendered in English Dolby Digital Stereo. As with the release of Chappelle's Show: Season One, fans of the hit series are certain to find plenty to laugh about in the abundant extra features present on this release. Take a look at the creative process as star Chappelle and series co-creator Neal Brennan provide audio commentary before diving into over an hour of bloopers and deleted scenes, and if you haven't split your sides wide open from laughter at that point, check out a pair of unaired stories from series regular Charlie Murphy before hearing the complete story of the conflict that spawned one of comedy's most notorious catchphrases with the extended Rick James interview. Of course, everyone knows that Chappelle is at his best when up on-stage with a live audience, and with an extra standup act rounding out the bonus materials, this disc is sure to keep fans laughing until the eagerly awaited third season of Chappelle's Show.

The DVD for Mr. Deeds is typical fine fare from Columbia/TriStar, an early supporter of this digital format. The 1.85:1 anamorphic image is top notch, with rich warm colors and solid blacks throughout. Flesh tones are nicely recreated and overall detail is consistently strong. This is one of the earlier releases that also has a full-frame version. The 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtrack isn't quite as impressive, as there is little to no use of the surround fields to heighten the theatrical experience. The dialogue is clear and, for the comedy genre, that is all important. In a nice move, a number of decent supplements have also been added, including a spirited, screen-specific audio commentary with director Steven Brill and writer Tim Herlihy that runs the gamut from light technical talk to friendly banter. There are also three featurettes: "From Mandrake Falls to Manhattan," "Spare No Expense," and "Clothes Make the Man." The first, the longest at 18 minutes, is a general making-of documentary; the second is about the production design;and the third concerns costumes. Although they don't amount to a lot separately, they do give a certain amount of insight into the making of the film when viewed as a whole. Along with these are six deleted scenes that really don't amount to much and an outtake reel that is amusing, albeit very brief. In addition to a great music video for "Where Are You Going" from The Dave Matthews Band, there are theatrical trailers for this film, Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights, Master of Disguise, Men in Black II, and I Spy. Finally, a script-to-screen feature is available via DVD-ROM. This may not have been the hit that Adam Sandler and company had hoped for, but you wouldn't know it from this fine presentation.
