Hilarity rushes to the altar in the Jennifer Lopez/Matthew McConaughey romantic comedy The Wedding Planner. Columbia has done a fine job on this disc, starting off with a very nice 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. Imperfections such as digital artifacting and edge enhancement are never present during the feature. With bold black levels and very bright colors, this transfer is very pleasing to the eye. The same might be said for the ears with the Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack. While sound effects are not heavily used in The Wedding Planner, this track utilizes the surround feature whenever romantic songs are in the background. Clear and concise, this track should please home theater listeners. Also included on this disc is a Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround soundtrack in English, as well as English, French, and Spanish subtitles. The Wedding Planner could be considered a special edition of sorts, boasting a bouquet of extra features. A commentary track with director Adam Shankman and screenwriters Pamela Falk and Michael Ellis is both insightful and funny. Also included on this disc are some deleted scenes that don't add much to the proceedings, a short "making of" featurette, "The Dancer and the Cowboy" featurette, some theatrical trailers, filmographies, production notes, and web links to The Wedding Planner website. If fans of romantic comedy are in the mood for DVD love, this edition of The Wedding Planner should ignite sparks.

P.J. Hogan's romantic comedy My Best Friend's Wedding comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. One English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a second English track as well as Spanish and French soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. English and Spanish subtitles are accessible. There are no special features on this release. This disc will certainly satisfy those looking for a quality copy of the film, but a collector's edition DVD (which is a bit more expensive) contains a few more extra features.

Wackiness ensues in the super comedy Super Troopers. Fox's work on this 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer is excellent save for a small amount of edge enhancement in the image. Overall, the colors, fleshtones, and black levels are all very solid and clear. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround in English and French, as well as Dolby 2.0 Surround in Spanish. While the film doesn't utilize a vast array of directional effects (except in a few key scenes), the bulk of this 5.1 mix if free of any excessive hiss or distortion. Also included on this disc are English, French, and Spanish subtitles. The extra features on Super Troopers are bountiful, starting with two commentary tracks: the first by director/actor Jay Chandrasekhar and actor Erik Stolhanske and a second by actors Kevin Heffernan, Paul Soter, and Steve Lemme. Both commentaries are filled with many humorous stories, anecdotes, and thoughts about the film's production and history. A series of outtakes and deleted scenes are broken up unto four different sections and should please fans looking for more gags and jokes in the vein of the film. Finally, there is a very fluffy making-of featurette, a "Road Trip Newswrap" that follows the comedy troupe on the road, and theatrical trailers for the film.

"Package Description: Meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the most irreverent reptiles in the universe! These are the first classic animated episodes that tell the origination of Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Raphael and Donatello. Once tiny pet store turtles, an accident hurtles them into the city sewer where mutant goo transforms them into something... well, something else! Fighting for good against the malevolent Shredder and his Technodrome, these pizza-eating daredevils are a funny, phenomenal foursome."

Robert Zemeckis' special effects laden black comedy Death Becomes Her comes to DVD with a standard full-frame transfer that fails to preserve the original theatrical aspect ratio of the film. English, Spanish, and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. Spanish subtitles are accessible, and the English soundtrack is closed-captioned. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence. This is a sub-par release from Universal.

When people talk about the greatest sports movie of all time, this one is almost always in the discussion. That alone should say enough.

IS IT WORTH PAYING SOMEONE TO CALABRATE OR TWEEK THE SETTINGS ON MY SAMSUNG 52A650 LCD

Yes!! It is very much worth it. They make your tv look the very best that it can in your setting. I would recommend anyone doing this with a tv 42" or larger.
