I came across saxophonist John Klemmer from my studies on the saxophone and his deep, emotional approach to music. The music here doesn't budge away from it's intent to touch something aural in you... something fresh and new. It's a great treatise to the musical stylists from Brazil and has a wonderful mix of cha-cha inducing up-tempo clips and slow, soothing offerings that go down like a smooth brandy. Try it... you won't regret listening to this man blow.
What's great about it: Emotionally-charged Sax work; true artistry
What's not so great: Largely unheard of talent; a bit obscure
This is one of those recordings that's rare today... in that the arena this lady is shows off her artistry is not one in which some man's done her wrong or her ability to titilate the male senses. This recording is all about the warm sensibility of a woman with love in her heart. All who listen are the fortunate beneficiaries. Loved the track Quiet is the Fire. Simply lovely.
What's great about it: A showcase for the classic Nancy Wilson "wail"
After dinner on a cold, moon-filled night, my date put this CD in the changer as I drove home. She put it on Sometimes You Make Me Smile and just grinned at me. This CD was made for thoughtful lovers and people in general. Floetry is great with words and putting emotion behind the words.
What's great about it: Sincerity, emotion comes through on each song
Took one listen and was mesmerized, touched, and changed for the better by the words, the deep, heartfelt sincerity of passion, vision and thought this artist has brought not only to his work, but the community as well.
What's great about it: Great intro to poetry-to-music; excellent word artistry
