One of the Best Korean Dramas out
on July 20, 2008
Posted by: MechaManiac
I've seen the entire series twice actually and still think its great. Although it may not have all the hollywood effects and things most viewers may be used to, the story itself more than make up for it with captivating drama and great characters in every episode. Just like in "Emperor of the Sea" Song Il Guk puts on another excellent performance, that said, fans of Emperor of the Sea should also find this Korean historical drama just as enjoyable. I'm sure some viewers may be turned off by the length of the series though, since there are four volumes each with seven disks, most of which have three one hour episodes per disk. But, I was so drawn into the series I couldn't even stop myself from watching entire disks during the weekends. If you are into movies and tv shows for story and substance more than visual flare and have an interest in foreign film, then I strongly recommend this film to you.
What's great about it: Great epic story with memorable characters
What's not so great: Series starts out a little slow, but thats nothing big.

Best Street Fighter movie out
on July 19, 2008

This is a great movie for any Street Fighter fan and any fan of fighting anime. The early 90s animation quality in the movie is still decent by todays standards too, but the colors may seem a little drab to some viewers. This uncut and uncensored release does add a few more scenes here and there, but that is about it really, nothing that adds anything substantial to the movie experience. What I suggest to any person who purchased the other earlier DVD release, it to not purchase this one, but if you are a die hard fan and must have it, than go on ahead....personally, I kinda liked the new cover art and the few additions.
What's great about it: Full of action with great fight scenes and match ups, Ryu and Ken are the heroes
What's not so great: If you bought the other earlier DVD release this one really doesn't bring enough new things to warrent another purchase
I would recommend this to a friend!

Volume 2 Part 3: Adventure ignites a firestorm of emotion when the dangerous rivalry between Isamu and Guld Bowman reaches boiling point amid the pressure of the Super Nova test program. Return of a treasured classic

Robotech was the first anime series I ever watched, but it was the Macross part of the series that grabbed me and got me hooked. I first purchased Macross Plus on VHS in the 90s when it was first released and later purchased the DVDs when they were released. Unlike the original series, the movie Macross DYRL, Macross 7, Macross Zero, and the recently released Macross Frontier, this macross does not involve a great war, but instead focuses on a conflict between three friends. Viewers may be a little puzzled in the beginning trying to figure out what is going on, but when you see the whole series to the dramatic climax, then everything falls in place and you may be pleased with how the story looks as a whole. The action is top notch and the animation quality was great for its time and is even good today. The DVD transfer looks good, but the extras are a bit skimpy like most anime DVDs.
What's great about it: Interesting story/mechs/characters, the story does not require knowledge of the original series to enjoy.
What's not so great: Episode three lags a little in quality and in order to make sense of things you have to watch all four episodes.

Good Fun

Fumoffu is a hilarious comedy, that excludes all of the mech action, "whispered" stuff, and unnecessarily drawn out sequences of the first season. The high school setting, with some good cast additions/returns, Kaname's fieriness, and Sagara's military antics make for a fun ride for guys and gals alike. Although it can be enjoyed without having viewed the first season, viewers new to the series will be left in the dark as to why Sagara is in Japan in the first place, what is the organization he belongs to, and who some of the characters are, so it is advised that you atleast read up alittle on the series online or watch the first season to fully appreciate this great addition to anyones anime collection.
What's great about it: Best parts of the first season magnified and more of Sagara's military antics.
What's not so great: will leave new comers to the series in the dark about a few things
I would recommend this to a friend!
