It might be the perfect protection for a phone, but it makes a very bulky and heavy.
I returned it, because I had a very hard time to open it to put the phone in, and obviously it must have been returned before, because I noticed a crack in the frame for the camera opening.

I had read other feedback here before I decided to go for this model, and I was concerned at first when I saw customer complaint it would not shred 10 pages, but reading the manual, where it clearly states that the number of pages depends on the thickness of the paper. 10 pages at 75g/qm, which means we all use thicker paper, usually 88 or 92/qm. Answers all questions, correct?
I love this machine, the wheels work well, even on carpet, the containers is easy to empty, it shreds all my papers correctly in extremely small pieces, it does not overheat easily as some here say, I scanned a big pile of papers, something like 500 pages in a few minutes with no problems at all.

I own an older iPad mini, upgraded to iOS 8 and realized it would work, but barely. The A5 chip is just not handling iOS 8 very well.
I do not want to wait month and month before a new iPad mini comes out, if ever at all, and who knows when.
I went for the "big" one with 128 GB, because I was always short of space with my older 16 GB, and can now download and save whatever comes to mind.
I love the crisp display, it was very easy to set up, it handles iOS 8 very well, and restoring this one from Cloud was a breeze.
Battery life is excellent, some might disagree, but it is for me.
I do not want to wait month and month before a new iPad mini comes out, if ever at all, and who knows when.

I desperately needed a new one, this was the only one I could live it. I like that it has a hand strap to hold on to the iPad. I like the inside material, it is soft and does not scratch the glass of my iPad. The strap seems a little bit loose, I don't now how long it will hold.
My old one had some kind of rubbery stuff inside which left marks on the screen over time, and it was hard to remove.
I am happy with this one, and the price was right, too.

I used to own a portable scanner from a different manufacturer, it did within a few months, and I haven't even used it that often. So before I purchased the next one I did a lot of research, trying to find what would best fit my needs.
I wanted one that would scan to SD card, well there not many around other than what I had before.
Many portables scan to the cloud, which I do not want, especially since most want you to sign up for their own cloud service, none accepted the cloud service I already have.So I ended up purchasing this.
It was extremely easy to set up, there is a huge manual on that CD that explains everything.
I installed the driver and Button Manager only, I do not need all that fancy stuff receipt manager and things like that, I can manage my receipts without special software.
Withing minutes I connected the USB cable and the scanner to my laptop and scanned my first test page.
It automatically noticed that I already ha a folder "my scans" and that's where the scan landed. You have a choice in settings to scan as JPG or PDF, also if color, black/white or gray scale, you can adjust the area you want to scan. So it is all really easy.
Quality of scan is just what I need, I would not scan high resolution photos with a little scanner like this. For me it is all about being able to scan documents when on the road with my laptop.
It fits in my laptop case without making the bag bulky or heavy.

I needed an optical drive after purchasing an 2-in-1 laptop, and I still own programs on CD. And for that purpose only I decided to get this one, it was on sale for $27.99.
I don't care for the software that came with it, other people might.
I plugged in, computer recognized it immediately and I was ready to install my software.
Worked with out any flaws and very quick.
I have no idea how it would perform playing movies, burning CDs or DVDs.

what an awesome little machine

I had recently purchased another laptop which has no touchscreen, and that is a big no-no when it comes to Windows 8. I was looking for a smaller and lighter laptop, possibly a 2-in-1, and this was on my list with 2 other models.
Setup was extremely easy, removing preloaded apps that I don't want and need took a little longer, but I am familiar with Windows 8 and managed it in an acceptable amount of time.
Now that everything is setup the way I want it and my own programs installed I am happy with it. Turns on and starts Windows within seconds, no aggravating noise at all with the fan, there is a feature built-in that keeps the processor cool. HD (500GB) and RAM (4GB) is plenty enough if you don't want it as a replacement for a desktop PC. I do not stream music, movies and videos on my laptops, I use it for checking emails, surfing the web and using MS Office, and for that it is plenty enough.
It does not come with an optical drive, but portable external CD/DVD drives are so affordable now, that I didn't bother getting one that was on sale. It works fine and helped me installing my programs.
Setting up wi-fi was a blast. Actually I did nothing but typing in my router password, everything else happened miraculously alone.
I have a w-fi printer, and to add that I had to install the printer software only, after that the laptop recognized my printer immediately.
I use a wireless mouse when using it as a laptop, but that is only because I am not a friend of touchpads. Turning the laptop over and making it a tablet is easy and works great. But I have to admit that I am used to tablets, so it is nothing new for me either.

I am looking for some kind of case with a clip for my iPhone for quite some time, I finally found this one.
It fits oversized phones as well as my iPhone with the Mophie juice pack.
So I am hoping that once the iPhone 6 comes out it will fit in there as well.
The clip seems sturdy, the material is leather and feels soft, the magnetic closure seems to be safe and sturdy as well.
I wished there would be a case the has the clip attached to the back so you have to take the phone out of the case, which carries a slight risk of dropping it while taking it out that is done in a hurry.
I was offered a wristband for the iPhone, but I found it very ugly, good for runners maybe, but not for every day use for a woman.

Nice employees in the phone section tried to transfer my minutes from my old Motorola C-139 Tracfone to this LG-840G via the Tracfone website, but there was a 1000 minute transfer limit and a loss of all remaining minutes because the old phone would be deactivated. I had 2700 minutes left, about $250 worth, so the very patient employee called Tracfone 3 times and was transferred a few times and finally got someone to transfer my minutes manually on the Tracfone side. This took about an hour! Then the 2nd BB employee tried to get my contact information from my old phone to the new one. He had to go primitive with his high tech to get that done, one step short of doing it manually. Tracfone added 3 months and 10 minutes to my service, so I assume I'll get triple minutes when I renew for a year this Spring, reports of 1400 more minutes floating about. I just got the 300 page manual (half that in English) from the LG website. There's a Service Manual that came with the phone but I can't find the .pdf for that, print is very small. I can't comment much on the phone yet, I'm clueless how to use it. Pictures indoors possible if there's no movement, hoping to find a barcode app. Can't find a case for it, but I had a compact camera that I bought a hard case for at BB and it has a little band in it to hold this phone perfectly. I've already sat on the case, so yeah, hard case!

You always get what you pay for, should have read reviews on the Internet before you bought this one.
HSN sold thousands, and there are hundreds of bad reviews on tha phone and its service capabilities.
Not every Android Phone is really a smartphone, although they call them that. If smartphones were $59, why would anyoneby iPhones, galaxy phones etc. for hundreds of $$?
Tracfone and NET10 offer basic service, nothing fancy for people who want basic service.
And when it comes to manuals, noobody gives you a manual anymore, it is all on the Internet, just type the model number in Google search, and you get it.

I am on my second machine and it also has to be returned as it is not running properly. The first machine had a bad network card so I exchanged it for the same machine. I give all things the benefit of the doubt and hoped I just had a bad egg in the basket with the first one.
The second one will not run in 64 bit mode even though it came pre installed with Windows 8.1 Everything runs in 32 bit mode. I have spoken with Toshiba and after nearly two hours they told me to reinstall which I did even though I hadn't even used the machine yet meaning the issue was present when removing from the box. It was a Christmas gift and I was awaiting the big screen monitor before setting it up so today is when everything came to my attention.
After doing the re install per Toshiba it still was only running in 32 bit mode even though it shows it is running Windows 8.1 64 bit Operating System. I was told to call back if the re install did not fix the issue. That was only one issue, I also had duplicate files on the machine, keep in mind the machine had not even been used nor was it an open box so where did the duplicate files come from?
I called Toshiba back and this time I was told that model was not even shipping with Windows 8.1 and I offered to take a photo of the box with the specs on it from Toshiba on the box showing where it reads Windows 8.1 and after I did the re install it did install Windows 8.1 going off my serial number. I was then told they could send me to tier two support but it would be $69 and I was not about to pay for something that I had already gotten the run around from customer service and tech support which neither department knew what the issue could be and denied they were even shipping Windows 8.1 on that model even to this current day.
I was also informed the reason my network card was not connecting to my 5GHz band router (it is a dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz) is because the card is only capable of connecting to the 2.4GHz which leads to the product description misleading. The tech had me go to a place on Toshiba's website and type in my serial number and part number which brought up a whole set of specifications which are not even close to what Best Buy has on the site. The network card being one that is a major factor for me given this is a business and I need it to run on the 5GHz to keep the slower devices from causing a bottle neck between the dual band. If you buy it thinking YAY WIDI, forget that, because that is not the card that is actually in the machine.
I spent all day today, ran my battery out on my phones talking to Toshiba and Best Buy with everyone blaming everyone else. Then I was told to call Microsoft to see if they could figure out why it is running in 32 bit mode even though it clearly has Windows 8.1 installed at 64 bit. I tested by installing Skype 64 bit that I downloaded and it showed up as 32 bit and not 64 bit. Nobody has any answers and customer service is playing the blame game at every turn.
I have not called Microsoft yet as I was waiting for my phones to charge and I needed a break from all the frustration of the blame game and run around from Toshiba and Best Buy. I can take the machine back and get another one but 2 for 2 being bad and customer service being bad do I really want to get another one of these machines? At this point no I do not and from all the reviews of the other machines (Windows 8 or 8.1 with touch screen) it seems they ALL have a lot of issues.
I am at expert level in computer knowledge, all operating systems, networking, programming, hardware and a internet pioneer. In other words I am an old timer therefore I typically use Unix/Linux/Mac but needed a good solid laptop to take on location that wouldn't be as devastating or costly if something were to happen to it on a photo shoot. Where I stand $799 versus my $3500 Macbook Pro's I think I'd rather lose $799 however if the machine does not work to begin with the cost really does not matter.
Buyer beware, read all the reviews and read them on other sites, and I did do that myself yet I still ended up with 2 bad machine's. So all I can say is roll the dice and see what you get.

Well this is not for some one who value their every hard dollar worth . Average computer but i bought it because i wanted 1080 p at this screen size , touch screen have nothing to do with laptop its worthless at this size because you are not going to use touch screen at all to smear your screen with your finger oil . Battery is uninstall able from outside ,no recovery media is shipped with it you have to make your own then you need to test it when in crisis which i have not tested. But i needed something of this size with this resolution with dvd driver . So not much choices out there . So please dig market more to buy this expensive gadget because i am sure its losing its value $200 value soon . Its not worth of paying $826 ( price plus taxes ) go for apple other wise because window 8 is not worth for that much money . I even installed classic shell . Sound is good and loud if you want to watch Netflix ,but pic quality is blurry and you need to keep changing screen resolution as Netflix is only 720 p compatible much more clear and brighter on my smart sony tv .

I gave away an Asus b4ecause the cursor and finger pad were seriously inferior. This one is even worse. I can play a tune on every centimeter of the finger pad while pointing to the red X and without closing the page. Smooth scrolling is impossible. Moving the cursor is a definite maybe - maybe it moved and maybe it didn't .
In am effort to make the machine compact, Toshiba has packed the keyboard so tightly that I cannot type at speed, at all, without hitting additional keys. Toshiba will soon hear from me. Royan Herman

I purchased this device from Best Buy, but it was infected when I bought it, and the Mcafee which came with the device could not remove all of the viruses. I'm so disappointed.

Every computer I buy - and I had quite a few - first thing is to remove all bloatware. Over time I pretty much know what I don't want and need, and it's gone before I connect to the Internet, my hotspot or even my network. Once it is all clean and looks the way I want it, then I install my software. Using something like CCleaner might be very helpful.

Needed to find a software to replace MS Money which will not work in Windows 10. This starter version will not allow any files to be imported from MS Money. This would be fine if you never had any other financial software, but it wouldn't do it for me.

I had the same problem with Microsoft Money and I checked the Internet for a solution. It is a simple key change in the registry and Money will work. I wrote it all down, takes only a minute, so get back to me, and I will tell you.

what do computer connectivity mean? Also if it does not come with a memory card do I have to buy one to take pictures?
connect the camera to your computer via provided software and transfer your photos to the computer, which I don't do, I take the SD card out and plug it in the computer.
And yes, you need to buy a SD card, the camera has no internal memory.

Feeding Envelopes
I print a lot of #10 envelopes. Do you need to feed them into the back one at a time, or can you put a stack of them in to autofeed. Thanks. John.
it is recommended to use the back feeder, but you can use one of the trays. You really need to make sure your envelopes are nice and flat, otherwise they might be hard to go through. But it is challenging for all printers.

Downloading to computer
Is this camera plug and play so I can just take the sd card out and put into computer and watch video or save on to computer to burn to home movies on dvd? If so, what systems is it compatibly with? This is what I want it for. I have an older video camera that works fine but it is a pain to save to computer and create home dvds.
yes, you can either plug the SD card directly in your computer or connect the camcorder and use the software that comes with the camcorder.
I use Windows 7 64 bit, I don't know if it works with older Windows version, but certainly with Windows 8
