Posters Fade sounds like the Shins, the Kinks and Spoon all rolled up into one, yet really it stands alone as a beutiful unique album. This album is filled with fantastic harmonies, perfect melodies, catchy instumental hooks and infectios beats (be it drums or stomps and clamps). Derby ventures into new and exciting territory on this album compared to their first. There are violins, pedal steel guitars, and a level of intimacy that is rare these days. This album has completely blown me away, and every time I listen to it I discover a new layer that makes me love it even more. It's amazing how they got 14 songs to fit together so well, with many of them turning into the next (very Abby Road-esque). This is definitely an album that will live at the top of my collection for a long long time.
What's great about it: Harmonies, Melodies, rock, beautiful subtleties
