I absolutely love my Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker. This coffee maker is a lifesaver in the morning.....you set the time you want it to start making your coffee in the morning and, viola, fresh coffee!! My only complaint is that sometimes when you remove the pot to pour a cup a little bit of coffee leaks from the filter bassket but other than that, no complaints. The auto shut off feature is wonderfull; one less thing to worry about. At the bargain price of $34.99 you really cant beat it!

Darren Aronofsky's harrowing tale of drug addiction, Requiem for a Dream comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Supplemental materials include a commentary track featuring the director, a second commentary track by the cinematographer Matthew Libatique, deleted scenes with director commentary, a making-of featurette, production notes, theatrical trailers, television promos, and Ellen Burstyn interviewing Hubert Selby Jr., who co-wrote the screenplay that was adapted from his novel. This is a superb disc for both the film's many fans and DVD collectors.

This movie is unlike most movies made these days. Its a raw depiction of the harsh reality of addiction and the lengths people go to in order to satisfy the needs of their desease. Its absoultley heartbreaking! You will find yourself sympathizing for each of the characters as they struggle to get by.
This really is a wonderful movie that is well written and beautifully shot but it is hard to watch repeatedly because its very gut wrentching. You get wrapped up in the lifes of these character and as you watch their demise you cant help but feel for them...........all the way to their tragic end.
You dont want to miss this one....but make sure you brace youself!!!

Director Christopher Nolan's clever, and at times puzzling, thriller Memento is presented on DVD, but the real mystery is why more wasn't done with this acclaimed film on a format that practically invites innovation. On the bright side, the image is first-rate, with an anamorphic transfer framed at the original aspect ratio of 2.35:1. There are few signs that this was a lower budget independent film, as the picture is sharp, with little wear, and constantly conveys the theatrical experience. Offering both Dolby Digital 5.1 and two-channel surround tracks, the sound on this release is also well defined. Though there is a very limited use of the rear speakers, all other sounds are clearly reproduced up front. Fans of this intelligent film highly anticipated a special edition, but their hopes were quickly squashed by the reality that supplemental materials are unfortunately rather thin. The main extra is a 23-minute IFC interview with director Christopher Nolan covering this film, his previous movie Following, and his influences. The remaining features are brief and less interesting, including a comparison of the tattoos with original concept art, a section that allows viewing of elements from the movie's website, theatrical trailers for this film and the aforementioned Following, a television spot, and some brief cast and director biographies. Finally -- and curiously not mentioned on the box -- the full original story from Jonathan Nolan that inspired the movie is included. This is unquestionably a film that begs for an audio commentary, or at least an in-depth documentary. Sadly, they are not included, though with the way things work, expect a special edition sometime down the line.

Memento is a great movie! Its about a mans obsession with finding out who murdered his wife and who inflicted injuries on him causing him permanent short term memory loss. This movie is filmed backwards so you actually see how it ends first and it progresses to what would have be the begining of the movie at the end. Confusing enough? Make sure youre paying attention or you will get lost.

This movie is FANTASTIC!!!! Im a HUGE Star Wars fan and Im also a big fan of Family Guy so of course when this came out I was totally excited. If youre a Family Guy fan you know that theres tons of Star Wars refrences in the show so its only natural that they would make a movie about it. Even if youre not, this is a really funny movie which highlights the type of humor Family Guy is well known for. One of the neat things about this is how the story line actually follows that of A New Hope. The character line up is perfect....keep an "Eye" out for Meg....Its so funny!
In a recent interview with Seth Mcfarland, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi is in the works so it looks like there will be more to look foward to.

A really good movie!

I must admitt that at first I didnt care for this movie. After I watched it a second time I was able to appreciate it a little more and after seeing it several times I really like it.
At the age of 14, Marie Antoinette (Kristen Dunst) was forced into marriage to the Dauphin, Louis XVI, (Jason Schwartzman) who he himself was only 15. The movie takes you through a journey of what life must have been like for these two young strangers. In order to secure her positon as the Dauphine and the alliance between Austria and France, Marie is pressured to give birth to an heir. Louis shows no interest in getting to know his new bride, let along consummate their marriage. Marie is left to fill the void by indulging in the luxurys of her new life. After some time has passed, she gives birth to an heir but unfortunately her lavish lifestyle is ultimately the cause of her decline.
Although not entirely accurate, the movie still manages to cover important facts and details of the life of Marie Antoinette.
If anything, this movie is visually stunning! No detail was sparred into making each and every scene a feast for the eyes! The work and attention that went into the elaborate costume design and all the magnificent foods is gorgeous! Every scene is absolutely beautiful, which in itself makes the movie well worth it!
I think this is a fabulous movie and I certainley recommend it!

Although a deluxe two-disc set is available, this one-disc edition of Moulin Rouge will do for those who want just the film. This DVD boasts a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original broadcast aspect ratio of 2.35:1. English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround, and a French soundtrack has also been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by director Baz Luhrmann and co-screenwriter Craig Pearce, and a second commentary track recorded by Luhrmann, costume director Catherine Martin, and cinematographer Donald McAlpine. A behind-the-scenes featurette rounds out this strong release.

Spectacular.......Spectacular!!!!!

This movie is one of my favorites...another Baz Luhrmann masterpiece! It stars Ewan McGregor as Christian, a low class writer who moves to Paris to prusue his dreams and Nicole Kidman as Satine, an enchanting courtesan who longs for normalcy and a way out of the brothel. Christan is sent to propose a play he has written with his flamboyant counter part Toulouse-Lautrec, John Leguizamo, to Satine and the ring leader, Harold Ziedler, Jim Broadbent. Its love at first "song" for Christian and Satine who are forced to hide their love in order to save the theater. The way the this movie is written, incorporating songs old and new into the story line, is absolutely brilliant and the cinematography is breath taking! PLEASE....make sure you get this movie, you wont de disappointed!

Billed as a "teenage terror drive-in double feature," this disc from Something Weird Video will not disappoint fans of "wild youth" films. The Violent Years has the distinct honor of having been scripted by none other than the infamous Ed Wood Jr. (Plan Nine From Outer Space, Glen or Glenda). Both films are presented full frame (aspect ratio of 1.33:1) with prints that are a bit dark but lack major flaws. The soundtracks are Dolby Digital Mono. The disc is loaded with thematic extras. The trailers section features clips for The Violent Years, The Choppers, Jacktown, Slightly Damaged, and Strange Compulsion. There is also a hidden feature on this menu page: a 35-second alternate take from The Violent Years. The "Delinquent Goodies" section includes two short films. The short Goof Balls and Tea is a classic scare film credited as "A Police Science Production" and has a running time of 34 minutes. The other short has a similar somber tone and is entitled What About Juvenile Delinquency?, running 11 minutes. Both prints are in rough shape but still worth watching. Also included in this section is a 13-minute "Gallery of Drive-In Exploitation Art with Drive-In Intermission Announcements " and "Behind the Scenes Stills and Art" from The Violent Years, which features radio spots for Slightly Damaged and runs approximately ten minutes. There are also three separate "Intermission" films (snack bars clips, local business ads, etc.), each running around ten minutes, and a hidden trailer" for Teenage Mother. The final great feature for this wonderful disc is the optional "Let's Go to the Drive-In" which allows for uninterrupted playback of all of the disc's features.

Juvenile delinquency at its best!

For all you JD fans out there, The Violent Years takes top honors! This gem was written by Ed Wood back in '54 and it has everything you would expect from a JD movie and more! The leader of the pack, Paula, is a girl of privilege who lacks nurturing from her high society parents. She turns to mischeif and mayhem to fill the gap. The "male assualt" scene is way before its time and the ending showcases the dramatic demise of Paula and her gang.

Dont believe the hype

I hate to sound like the bad guy, in comparison to the other reviews, but I found this movie rather disappointing! When this movie first came out I was really excited about it. Im a Beatles fan and Im also fond of musicals but for me the combination of the two just doesnt work for this one. Its seems as if this movie was made just to try to jump on the whole Beatles revivial band wagon. The begining isnt bad where you follow the courtship of "Jude" and "Lucy" but shortly after that it turns into a big mess. It seems as if they were trying to throw in as many beatles songs and refrences they can and it disconnects from the actual story. I realize youre supposed to go along on this journey with the music and the images but it just doesnt work for me. I must say that this movie has excellent cinematography and I still really love the beatles but unfortunately its just not enough to make this a good movie.

Before comedian Louie C.K. hit the big time with his hit FX series Louie, he was pushing the boundaries of the traditional three-camera sitcom with this HBO series that was taped before a live audience. Now you can own every episode of Lucky Louie in this release also featuring the unaired episode "Clowntime is Over."

Hillarious!!!

Louis C.K. is the most underrated comedian out there. His humor is controversial, crass, taboo and I LOVE IT! This show is one of the funniest shows ever made but unfortunately, it got canceled after the first season; probably because his comdey may not appeal to the general masses. If youre a fan of someone like Dane Cook, this may not be for you, but if youre a fan of the likes of Sarah Silverman then you should love it!
What's great about it: Louis C.K.
What's not so great: I agree with the other guy; only 1 season :(

acurate depiction of office life...HILARIOUS!!!!
on July 9, 2008

This movie is so funny! If youve ever worked in an office you HAVE TO SEE THIS!! Ron Livingston brings his hilarious brand of humor to this comedy about office life. The wonderful thing about this movie is that its not your typical comedy. The jokes are more subtle and it isnt all up in your face like most. There are so many funny scenes its impossible to mention them all, but again if youve ever worked in an office you will appreciate the "Fax machine" and the "Overtime" scene.
What's great about it: Ron Livingston Great writing wonderful comedy
