To start off yes, this movie is not close to as good as some of the other great cannibal movies (ex. Cannibal Holocaust or Cannibal Ferox) but it did influence most of them. It follows a expedition in the jungle looking for another lost crew, while they're taking a trek through the jungle one by one the crew is picked off till only two remain in the Pookah tribe's grotto. This movie, even though at times it is, is not very gory. It's kinda slow and just not really a fun cannibal movie. The extras on it are kind of skimpy, all we get is an interview with the director, the standard trailer, and a still gallery. I can only recomend this movie to hardcore cannibal fans.
What's great about it: Uncut, nice atmosphere, adventurous
What's not so great: Slow paced, not alot of gore, boring in places
This movie, the legendary "Cannibal Holocaust" is one of the greatest and most controversial films ever made. Grindhouse Releasing did an amazing job on this movie, they deffinately outdid themselves on this DVD. To start the movie comes uncut and how Ruggero Deodato wanted it to be seen. The only part that I find extremely disturbing is all the animal killings, but Grindhouse included an option on the DVD to turn off the animal killings if you are too sickened by it. The extras, without going into a lot of detail, are very in detail, they have interviews from long lost cast and crew and they go very in depth. They also have the standard amount of trailers and the amazing "Making of..." featurette
What's great about it: Lots of Extras, Showcased in all it's uncut glory
This hard hitting release tells the story of Kakihara, a bleach-blonde brute working for a Yakuza to track down the man who murdered the syndicate's boss.

To start the review let me just say that yes, this DVD set is perfect *if* you really love these kind of movies, otherwise just go for the regular one disc uncut version. Lets start with the interesting packaging, the discs are placed into a blood pack that is tightly made. That is my main complaint is that it is very difficult to get the DVDs are hard to get out at first and when you do get them out it's difficult to get them back in without scratching them. Now to the movie, it's one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail because it'll give things away but Kakahira, the film's anti-hero, is one of the best characters in a horror film ever. The movie is EXTREMELY violent and is deffinatly one of the most over the top gory movies in recent years. Lastly, the special features are extremely in depth and worth a warrant of a second disc even if some of them are a little short and have no subtitles (!). All in all, because of the packaging I would only recommend this to die hard gore fans or Japanese cinema fans.
What's great about it: Uncut, fast paced movie, lots of special features
This is a zombie set that is more than qualified to be in any horror junkie's or even casual watcher's movie collection! To start we have Burial Grounds, it's a movie that's so bad it's unintentionally funny. I was suprised by the supplements on the disc because I would have assumed that no one would care about this movie, but no, it has the original trailer it has interviews with a couple people from the cast and also has other old Grindhouse trailers. Overall, it is an amazing disc that alone is amazing. Next up is Zombi Holocaust (aka: Doctor Butcher M.D.) it's actually a good movie but its more of a cannibal movie because it really skimps out on the zombies. The special features are good where it shows part of "Tales that'll tear your heart out" (which was used in the opening credits for the American release) and it interviews the man that made the movie. The disc also includes the American and German trailers and this disc also does not disappoint. Last, and unfortunately least, is "Flesh Eater". I found the movie to be boring and just badly made. The features on the disc include A pizza commercial (!) an interview with the Special F/X man, and the complete soundtrack (!!). So, all in all, this pack is deffinately worth it for a good splatter fan, or Italian Horror movie fan. Oh, and did I mention that Zombie Holocaust and Burial Grounds are uncut?
What's great about it: Cheap, Uncut, rare- ish movies, healthy amount of special features
