3D could have been better
on March 9, 2014

The first time I watched this movie, I wasn't sure how I felt about it. I thought it was good, but wasn't quite sure it was worth it (The first time I saw it was after I already bought it because it had gotten such great reviews). After watching all the special features and watching the movie for a second time, I developed a stronger appreciation for it and I'm glad I bought it, even though I felt the 3D could have been better. There just didn't seem like there were a whole lot of scenes that blew me away in terms of the 3D, which was disappointing given how cool space usually is in 3D. There were a few 3D scenes that were pretty cool, but I felt they ended too soon. It was like, "Oh, this is going to be cool if it keeps coming toward me!" But then the element that was coming at me would go out of focus or the camera would cut away. My wife kept getting scared though when all of the shrapnel came flying at us, so that was pretty funny.
No iTunes Digital Copy with this movie, only UV.
My Best Buy number: 2655219615
What's great about it: Everything but the 3D
What's not so great: 3D could have been better, no iTunes digital copy

I really enjoyed the first film, but this one was even better. I've already watched it several times. The extras are also extensive and entertaining. Comes with the HD version of iTunes Digital Copy.

Great film, no iTunes DC

This a very moving film about a true American hero. I thought Harrison Ford was great in it, and I usually think he's pretty corny. The lead actor who portrayed Jackie Robinson was also outstanding. I just wish the movie included an iTunes Digital Copy rather than only UV.

Special Features could be better
on March 9, 2014
Posted by: thejamestrenda

The movie itself is great. I'm not sure if it's full-screen the entire time, but I do remember at least some of the movie goes full-screen (no black bars at the top). I'm pretty sure in the beginning there are black bars but I noticed it went full-screen at some point. Perhaps it was when they started using the IMAX cameras in the jungle, but then it seemed to stay in full-screen even after that. I have a plasma, so I hate black bars.
The deleted scenes are not worth watching at all. The DVD only has the deleted scenes and the Divergent sneak peek for the special features. Obviously, the DVD doesn't have enough room for the rest. Having said that, the other special features on the blu-ray (the behind the scenes, "making of" stuff) is pretty extensive and you really get a fascinating look at all the work that went into making this film. I really enjoyed that part of the special features. I just wish there were more in terms of deleted scenes and gag reels and stuff like that. The Divergent sneak peak was pretty good, though.
One other complaint is the cover art. It's very similar to the first movie. They don't really seem to put much thought into the cover art for these movies. I know they have a steel book version, but I honestly couldn't care less about the steel book. I prefer the paper slip covers for my blu-rays.
My Best Buy number: 2655219615
What's great about it: Video quality, aspect ratio, some of the extras
What's not so great: deleted scenes, no gag reel, cover

This is a wonderfully animated film, but this is a review of the product itself, not the movie. I ordered this product online and it comes with the 3D slipcover, which is what I was hoping for. It also comes with an iTunes Digital Copy in addition to 2D Blu-ray and DVD.

Includes Digital Copy
on December 5, 2013

This review is for the actual product, not the movie itself. You wouldn't know it by the outside packaging, but this item includes an updated iTunes Digital Copy, meaning the code "may not be valid" after June 24, 2015. I've used quotes there because I have successfully redeemed Digital Copies for other movies in the past after the alleged expiration date.
I had a little trouble transferring the Digital Copy at first. Instead of getting to the redeem page through the disc, first open up iTunes, go to the iTunes Store and click on the 'Redeem' link in the sidebar. Then insert your disc. It should re-direct you to the correct Digital Copy redeem page.
If you go the other route (clicking on the iTunes icon from within the disc pop-up window), you may be prompted to update iTunes even if you already have the latest version. When you cancel out of that prompt, the disc (for me anyway) stops spinning and iTunes shuts down. So you can try it this way if you want, but just know that there is another way to get it working if this way doesn't work for you.
One thing I didn't like is that sometimes Digital Copies get you the HD version in iTunes. Most of the time, however, you get the SD version. This copy gets you the SD version.
My Best Buy number: 2655219615
What's great about it: Includes iTunes Digital Copy
What's not so great: Transferring Digital Copy was a little tricky and you don't get the HD version.

I was a little hesitant to get this game because there wasn't a demo for it and based on some of the video I had seen, it wasn't really blowing me away, but I loved the original games back in the day, and it had gotten some good reviews, so I went ahead and bought it and I'm very glad I did. The developers did a great job of including familiar Lara Croft-isms that take you right back to the original. The overall look and feel of the game reminded me a lot of Uncharted with some of its epic climbing/running/escaping scenes, but it still felt new and fresh. If you liked Uncharted, you will really like this game. I can't wait to see what's next for Tomb Raider.

I know they're not trying to be realistic with the plot, but, having said that, there are still way too many holes in it for it to be anything but an average comedy. It's kind of dumb, but the guys are great together and make it worth a watch, no pun intended.

I've been playing NFS since way back on the PS2. I didn't think any NFS game on the PS3 really shined on the console until Hot Pursuit. Then Shift 2 came out and I thought that game was amazing too. Then The Run came out and that one was good as well, but this one is by far the best NFS game ever. I love the open world and the little challenges scattered throughout like competing against friends for most billboards smashed, furthest jump through a given billboard, fasted clocked speed through a speed camera, etc. it's just a ton of fun and I can't wait to go and play it some more! (I've already "beaten" it)

This collection includes all 8 films from the Harry Potter saga. Based on the novels of J.K. Rowling, the films follow Harry (Daniel Radcliff) as he learns about his magical heritage, and the pivotal role he plays within the wizard community. Along the way, he forms indelible bonds with classmates Ron Weasely (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson), who help him as he tries to defeat the evil wizard Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes).

Nice movie series, poor "quality" on the Blu-Ray
By TexasBavarian from Frisco, TX
You know the movies -- has anyone in the known universe really not seen them? -- so this review is about the quality of the Blu-Ray "Complete Collection Years 1-7 (8pc)", not a critique of the movie itself (if you are looking for a critique, stop reading now and move on to the next review :-) ).
The short review of this Blu-Ray collection is it doesn't work. 4 of the 8 disks simply would not load into my higher end Blu-Ray player (a Sony BDP-BX2). The other 4 loaded fine, and I have no problems with any other Blu-Ray or DVD disks loading in the machine. Yes, I'm sure I could bring the Blu-Ray collection back to Best Buy and beg for an exchange, but I simply shouldn't have to. And since I've had them for about 2 months (didn't try to play them until recently) and have no receipt, my guess is Best Buy won't exchange them anyway. In fairness to them, they wouldn't have any idea if I really bought them from Best Buy or not. So I'm pretty much stuck...
As for the other 4 disks -- the ones that work -- the Blu-Rays didn't show any perceptible difference in picture quality over the DVDs that we already had. Not disappointing, just not that much better.
Sorry, but I'm just not that impressed with this collection, and wouldn't really recommend it to anyone.

Contact Warner Bros
December 12, 2012
Should have contacted Warner Bros about it. When I bought the X-Men Triology, two of the iTunes digital download codes didn't work. I contacted them and they gave me two new codes. Also, if you're a Premiere Silver member, you have like two months to return stuff...not that that helps you now, but still.

Same Old
By PointAfterAttempt
This is more of the same with just a fresh numerical number at the end. Away from the buzz and glitz what we find is a system with a lot power but little punch. One of the big issues is still PSN. We have seen just how bad the security is in the recent past and nothing was done to show that major breaches won't happen again. Security is simply an afterthought for Sony. While everything is getting a facelift on PSN, that facelift comes with a subsricbtion fee for the first time. We all know what to expect. Poor customer service. Many frequent PSN crashes. And an unreliable servers. While the hardware for the PS4 is going to be unreal, not enough has changed externally to impress. The streaming games feature sounds like a headache because it won't be reliable, no matter how many times Sony says you can start playing immeadtely. In theory it sounds great, but in practice many issues can arise from inferior servers.

The next Gen console
By Anonymous from EL Paso, TX
First off the PS4 is only $399. What a steal, the PS3 was $600 at launch.
Next is comes with a Blu-ray player. it also has a superior game line up. the graphics has been steeped up and with 500GB, there is plenty of space to store games. This next gen console is the death of xbox.

The $399 price tag is definitely more appealing than the PS3's launch price, but not only was the PS3 overpriced, it completely changed gaming and there wasn't anything like it on the market, so they could charge whatever they wanted for it. I wouldn't call it a steal, but rather a reasonable price.

Great 3D BluRay
By DJSunstar from Oshkosh, WI
Great BluRay, the only issue I have is not with the product, but with BestBuy. BestBuy's stickers/price tag ruins the outer sleeve, leaving an adhesive residue or ripping it. I am an avid collector of BluRay's and DVD's and have opted to purchase them elsewhere at times because of this reason. I would prefer to purchase them from BestBuy and hope they correct this issue soon.

Ultraviolet good
By Moviebuffcrazy from Charlotte, nc
The movie was pretty good but I don't understand the ultraviolet haters. Simply download the flixter app and stream the movie. That's more than I can say for Thor. That movie is iTunes compatible, but you have to store it locally. I've about maxed out this iPad as it is. If anything keeps you from buying this movie, don't let it be the ultraviolet feature.

It's the video quality that people, including myself, do not like about UV. I use the Flixster app for UV, but I prefer iTunes Digital Copy, which you do not have to store locally. You can now stream digital copies to your iOS devices.

Apple SIM is very confusing
By jw13
Apple iPad Air 2 is a great product by the Apple SIM is confusing. Supposedly you can switch between AT&T, Sprint, and T-mobile. But when you purchase it from Best Buy they do not sell T-Mobile so you are down to AT&T and Sprint. Then if you activate on AT&T, AT&T locks the SIM and you cannot use that SIM for any other wireless carrier so you have to go back in to get another SIM. It was sold as an option to free customers from carrier locks but it's a mess

Carrier Issues
December 4, 2014
Regardless of how frustrating or confusing it is, your complaint has nothing to do with Apple or the iPad; it is a carrier issue. Apple does not control the restrictions carriers place on the SIM cards. Your complaint should be directed at the carriers, not at Apple.
