The Logitech Zone 300 is the essential wireless Bluetooth headset with great audio quality for work and downtime. Move freely about your home or office and stay reliably connected with multipoint Bluetooth, up to 98 ft away. Meet with anyone on your preferred calling platform with this wireless headset with microphone. Dual noise-canceling mics on the extended mic boom suppress background sound and allow others to hear you clearly. Enhanced speakers mean you can also hear just as well.

Great for the money
on April 2, 2024
Posted by: Vespasian
Extremely comfortable and immensely convenient - this headset connected out-of-the-box with a simple button push. I seriously had less trouble connecting this headset than any other Bluetooth device I can think of.
The headset, as said, is comfortable; the ear pieces fit snugly can can be worn for extended work or gaming sessions.
Connectivity and signal strength were excellent, too. I had to get up and walk away from laptop while using this several times and had no trouble retaining a strong signal connection from an appreciable distance away. And set-up, as said, is a breeze.
Sound reproduction is very good, but not perfect. You will be able to hear clearly, and your listener will be able to hear you, but the max volume on this headset is a bit weak. This is especially noticeable if you switch over to media playback after a work or business call. The max volume is still better than I've heard with similarly priced headsets, though.
The mic seemed to pick up my voice with clarity and accuracy, and the headset seems to retain the excellent "raise mic to mute" feature. I work in a noisy environment, and asked repeatedly if any of the ambient noise around me was being picked up by the mic during work calls with clients. All feedback was positive.
The only two downsides to this headset are the somewhat weak maximum volume and the fact that you're required to keep the mic on your left. The mic arm does not rotate 180 degrees, so you can't simply reverse the headset if you prefer the mic on your right (which I do).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent laptop for business or student use
on March 29, 2024
Posted by: Vespasian
The first thing you'll notice when booting this laptop up is how fantastic the screen is. It's an OLED panel, but one with excellent color calibration. Colors are vivid and rich without the hypersaruration you typically get from an OLED screen.
The next thing you'll notice, at least when you go to play back media content, is how great the speakers are. Sound reproduction is rich and accurate and much louder than you'd expect.
So it's a great media content consumption machine, but does it function well as a laptop? Absolutely. The i5 is up any standard business or student task you throw at it. Even with the default 8 gigs of RAM, I didn't have any trouble switching between multiple active applications, or with resource-heavy apps slowing things down. Everything was smooth and fast. Sure, content creators and gamers will want something with a beefier processor or better graphics potential, but this machine will not disappoint business users or most students who simply need a laptop to work well as a laptop.
Build quality is also impressive. The metal frame and chassis mean this device will survive rattling around in a backpack or being bumped around a cubicle. The industrial design is great, too. The laptop has a simple, clean, metallic elegance.
It's also light and comfortable to use for extended periods of time. Battery life is pretty impressive, too. The computer gets a little too warm by the underside exhaust ports after being used intensively for a prolonged period of time, but there are nice ridges to at least keep the ports clear if you have to move it from your lap to your desk.
The only drawback to this machine, and I think it's an important one, is the limited number of ports on the computer. You get an HDMI out, but only one USB port and no SD card slot. Yes, you can get a USB hub or stick to Bluetooth devices (no problems connecting those, either), but since businesses (an old working men like me) hold on to older media for long periods of time, the absence of these kinds of connections is a bit annoying. Perhaps this was a necessary compromise to fit the machine into its compact frame, but I find it a bit of a nuisance. We still trade a lot of things on USB and card media where I work, despite the best efforts of the company to move us to the cloud. Younger users perhaps won't even see this as a weakness.
Notwithstanding the limited number of ports, this is a great machine for business and student use. If you need a decent computer you can use for work or that you want to send a kid to college with, this is an excellent choice.

Great for home office or dorm room only
on January 7, 2024
Posted by: Vespasian
For an inexpensive laser printer, this device is sturdier and handles jobs better than expected. Setup is easy, the paper tray is ample for the device size, and prints are speedy and high quality. You're limited to black and white printing, but for office documents or school work this shouldn't be a deal breaker.
The real issue is the extreme lack of connectivity options. You should only buy this printer if you expect to connect it to a desktop computer or stationary laptop, since this device only connects via USB directly to your computer. USB installation is easy, but setting this up brought back memories of setting up printers back in the 90s and early 00s. The printer is also a little too big and heavy to be portable, so the ideal setup here is a computer desk or table with a desktop tower or where you're regularly going to be docking a laptop.
That said, there is some pretty good value here in terms of quality of prints. You get double-sided printing (duplex printing), solid build quality, and a pretty sizeable 250 sheet paper tray.
In brief:
Pros: great print and build quality for an inexpensive laser printer.
Cons: can only connect to a *single* computer via USB. Cannot be shared over a network.
If you're purchasing this for home office or dorm use, you won't be disappointed. Other prospective buyers might want to look at models that offer more robust connectivity options.

Simple and effective
on November 7, 2023
Posted by: Vespasian
This is an excellent choice for a simple TV and streaming box setup, or for a second bedroom. If you're using something like a power-hungry and expensive gaming PC, then you might want better protection in the joules rating from a more expensive device, but for the vast majority of regular use cases this power strip will do you fine.
Construction is durable for the money and, most importantly the outlets are spaced an adequate distance apart if you've got a collection of wonky and unnecessarily big AC adapters. Be advised though that this power strip, like all others in this shape, will pose challenges if you're looking to cram more than three oversized AC bricks in a line.
For home office, lighting, dorm room, or other regular electronics use, this is more than an adequate solution, and the build quality is better than the cheap knockoffs you get from online retailers for an almost equal price.
This is a recommended product for people who just need something simple and effective to expand the number of outlets available in a corner of your house or apartment, or who just need a single, uncomplicated device to supply power to a laptop, printer, and lamp.
P.S. all the outlets receive full power. I've had bad experiences with more expensive models where one outlet on the surge protector doesn't receive the same voltage or power as the others, but this is not the case with this strip. Everything works as it should. Simple is often simply better.

Good for the money

If your primary purpose in getting a dashcam is for backup and support in the event of a ticket or accident, this is an excellent option that is completely worth the purchase price.
Setup is easy (keep the codes you're given in the box!), but users should be aware that this connects via adhesive tape on the mount that may be difficult to remove later if you want to change to a different model. Using Bluetooth to get to the main options is easy, speedy, and responsive.
Recorded video quality is kind of variable, depending on the environmental conditions. Daytime video recording is great. Nighttime recording washes out colors a bit and image quality suffers, but you'll still be able to make out vital information like license plates and other identifying information with no difficulty. There are additional safety features that can be activated when your car is parked (like night vision); these are nice extra for people who have good reason to worry about tampering, theft, or vandalism at night.
Video is recorded to the device's included SD card, which is a *good* thing. Since you may need the recorded footage, you don't want to be subject to getting it "off the cloud" or dealing with edits to cloud-stored video that leave off necessary moments in a recording.
The device is discreet and pretty easy to station unobtrusively behind your rearview mirror.
Overall, this is a great option for commuters or regular drivers who want video evidence in the vent of a problem. If you need something more elaborate that can capture better-quality video (for either security reasons or because you want to make travel videos), you should probably invest in higher-tier products that offer better video quality. Images can be a bit grainy with this camera, and they really wash out at night (i.e. colors seem especially muted and dull, even when you can tell that they ought to be bright and vibrant), but you will definitely get the video you need to identify another car (and its plate) that did something like stop in the middle of an intersection right before an accident.
This is a great device for regular users and commuters; just keep your expectations about video quality within reason.

Quality of life improvements make this the best
on October 15, 2023
Posted by: Vespasian
Without question, this is the Android phone to get for people who prioritize photos and videos. Pixel phones have always taken excellent shots, but the new software features like Best Take and Magic Editor give you easy to use tools to produce pro grade photos with just your phone and a few taps. Audio Magic Eraser is fun, too, and a great option for users who make a lot of videos.
There are some other pretty nice features included, like Read Aloud and Summarize, but these aren't as strong selling points as is the top tier photo lens and editing tools.
Other than that, there are some significant quality of life improvements for anyone who has an older Pixel. For one, this device finally hits the sweet spot for size. This is a flagship grade phone experience in a more reasonable form factor. Battery life also is a little better but Pixels have been great with battery life from the 6 onwards.
The most important quality of life upgrade, however, is seen in better cellular connectivity. I live in an urban area, so have a one signal coverage, but I still had issues with previous Pixels not playing nice with certain carriers (I'll just say the most expensive carrier specifically). This doesn't seem to be problem at all with the Pixel 8. I can maintain a strong cell signal anywhere, with only minor dips in frequency strength. If you're thinking about upgrading and are concerned about cell reliability, don't be; the Pixel 8 will connect you reliably. And I had zero problems with the phone overheating. The phone barely gets warm with regular use. Regular users will not have an issue with overheating, so ignore any nonsense about this being an issue.
The only way in which this phone might be a disappointment to some is with the way the Tensor chip works. Make no mistake, the G3 Tensor can handle social media, web browsing, multiple apps, and just a out anything with no problems, stutters, or heat build up. I did, however, see some reduced performance with some cell phone games. We're talking the same ones available on consoles, not ones specifically built for cell phones. The Tensor is powering all the AI features and is geared towards the making the user experience excellent, so if you absolutely need a phone that can also play console-grade games, you might want to look at a different device. Of course, if your primary concern is gaming, you should probably just get a handheld gaming PC anyway. Emulators and emulation, I should say, run fine on the Pixel 8, or at least as well as they do on other flagships.
In short, if you're an Android user, you need a comfortable device that handles 99% of tasks exceptionally well, and great photos and videos are the most important thing to you, this is the phone you should get. It may seem like there wasn't a major leap with this Pixel generation, but the better size, improved screen, and better battery life make the purchase worth it. The last generation of Pixel phones was about improving the phone gradually, and the Pixel 8 continues that trend. The differences are more subtle, but for veteran Pixel users they are noticeable and well-appreciated. My wife literally just held after I used it for a few days and insisted she get to take it over. And her photos already look professional with the previous gen model (and put a certain major rival that the kids are all excited about to shame). Now she's tinkering with the new photo editing tools and having a blast.
Big on cell phone photography? Get the Pixel 8.
Android purist? Get the Pixel 8.
Want an excellent phone with flagship performance that you can put in your jeans pocket easily and still kneel? Get the Pixel 8.
The Pixel series just keeps getting better.

Excellent, but too few ports
on September 28, 2023
Posted by: Vespasian
This little device is absolutely great for backing up a home office, or small electronics (like phones) and computers if you're traveling. It's durable, it's not too heavy, and has a bright readout to let you see the device status. There's even a built in light for navigating a dark room during a power outage or providing some light during a camping trip in the evening. The battery also charges extremely quickly on the included AC adapter.
The one downside is that there simply aren't too many output options on this device. You get one USB-A,.one USB-A, and one standard wall plug. These all provide excellent and fast power backup (even though the USB A caps out at 15W), but these options are the limit of what you can charge or power simultaneously. If you're with a group,. you're taking turns. If you're powering the family cellphones or working at home during an outage (I was), this device will cover your needs. The option n to recharge via solar is a nice bonus, but the base model does not come with an included panel. Multiple online sellers offer 40W panels, though, and you can check compatibility with this device pretty easily.
The amount of power provided, especially for such a diminutive unit, is pretty impressive. I couldn't get it to drop below 50%, powering a laptop and cellphone being used as a WiFi hotspot for an entire workday. The power capacity will not leave you disappointed, and the excellent and bright readout panel will always let you see how much charge you have left. Strongly recommended for anyone who endures regular weather-related power outages and solo or small group campers.
The only thing holding back a perfect five-star rating is the absence of more outputs and connection options on the battery. This isn't a deal breaker, since the device works brilliantly, but users looking for something that can be shared more easily might want to look at an option with more outputs. Also, users should be realistic in their power supply expectations. If you want something that's going to run appliances for half a day, you're going to need something with more capacity. But this is the perfect replacement for the collection of portable batteries we've all built up over time, and this is a must-buy for anyone who works at home and needs to stay connected.

Great out of the box experience
on September 23, 2023
Posted by: Vespasian
This is very much a product for people who want an excellent room mic that they can simply plug in and use. You really don't have to mess with EQ or audio levels to get a great experience. From several feet away, the mix picks up my voice with crystal clarity and filters out the background noise of my AC going off and my neighbors yelling as they pass by windows. I used this for work meetings and had a better experience than I've had with more expensive headsets, and I've regained a degree of mobility as well. Your voice will start booming if you get too close, but by "too close" I mean basically several inches away from the mic. Coworkers could even pick me up clearly when I was farther away then I planned on being, like when I had to break up fighting pets during a meeting. This is truly a top-tier out of the box experience and worth the money.
I didn't get much benefit from the G Hub options. You can make more granular adjustments to audio settings in the software, but for business and student use this really isn't necessary. Professional streamers and content creators would probably want to invest in a step-ups model anyway, so for this product fine-tuning is a bit of overkill. The RGB light is cute, but it doesn't take up much surface area on the device, so there's not really much point in tinkering with it.
Construction is great as well. This little Yeti is durable and the stand can handle bumping a table accidentally. Even my cats couldn't topple it with a couple of swats.
In short, if you need an excellent mic that doesn't require extensive tweaking, and you're not necessarily looking to start a career as a streamer, this little mic provides awesome performance for the money. I've used earlier models of Yeti before, and it's good to see that the quality remains top notch. I like the new color scheme more, too.

Great for the right type of user
on August 2, 2023
Posted by: Vespasian
This a great, entry-level laser printer, provided you're the right kind of user. The printer is fast and responsive; long documents like contracts and legal files are printed quickly and easily. Double-sided printing is a snap, too, so you can save on the total number of pages you're pumping out with your print jobs. The paper tray is spacious and won't need to be refilled every ten minutes, unlike other budget laser printers. Printing is only in black and white, but since the primary focus of this device is home office use, that shouldn't be a problem for prospective buyers.
Set up is easy, but this is also where the first caution flag gets raised. This model does not have WiFi built in. Your options for setting it up are either through an ethernet connection (i.e. plug it into your router) or a USB connection to a specific laptop or desktop. You really want to set up the the ethernet connection if possible; that way you have full access to mobile printing options from your phone or tablet through HP's app. Plugging into a router, though, may limit or restrict where you can set up the device. A workaround (wink, wink) is using either a wireless range extender or a mesh router system. I had to do this to prevent me from setting up the printer in the basement, where the router is.
Once you've got it correctly set up, though, HP's app makes printing easy. There are a number of great options in the software for printing documents of various types, and I didn't have the same "lost in translation" problems with mobile printing that I had with the laser printer this model is replacing. It's easy and efficient to print downloaded PDFs, emails, Word doc attachments, and other files directly from your phone using the HP app. If you've used an HP Inkjet model in the past and were wirelessly printing with it, then you know what I'm talking about.
For people using this in a home or small office setting: the printer provides an additional layer of web security for document safeguarding. It's certainly a nice bonus to have if you're printing out files with Social Security numbers or financial documents.
For everyday users, however, you have to ask if sacrificing color and ease of placement (no WiFi) is worth it to you. As a laser printer, this device is great. It prints quickly, does not get lost in a hopeless sleep state (I'd love to call out a different manufacturer here), has a great and readable display, and prints with clarity and great fidelity to the original source document. It's everything you want in a laser printer, and the speed gains are well worth it if you're coming from a replace-my-cartridge-in-every-three-days type of model.
Just be advised that this model does not do WiFi. This wasn't a deal breaker to me, but it may be for some of you.

Excellent option for new or older PCs
on May 29, 2023
Posted by: Vespasian
This is the perfect choice if you have a slightly older PC and just want something that works well. You might not get the max speeds possible if your setup doesn't permit it (you might be capped at a lower speed than what the RAM potentially offers), but you'll get fast performing memory that doesn't require extensive setup or fine-tuning that will improve the performance of your machine.
This RAM is primarily useful for creators and business or IT professionals. The packaging recommends this for gaming, but in all likelihood PC gamers would opt for DDR5 RAM anyway. For content creation, video and audio editing, and music recording, this is highly recommended. You will see performance gains, you'll be able to handle more processes (especially with music recording, which I can attest to), and best of all - you won't have to fuss with settings to get the maximum benefit from this. Again, PC gamers, who enjoy tinkering with settings, should probably opt for the DDR5 version of this, but for the rest of us, this is an excellent way to upgrade a 3-4 year-old desktop. Highly recommended for content creators.

How many layers are there? What materials are used in each layer?

There seem to be at least three layers, and the material is primarily nylon and polyester. Great if you have a medium to small nose, not so much otherwise.

Does this filter out covid? Otherwise it's useless!

I encountered continual air leakage from the upper part of the mask, which would indicate that the mask is not filtering out Covid at all. The material is good quality and would provide better protection than standard face masks if this weren't a problem.

Your filter options used to include "depth with stand". Is this still an option?

I have a tight mantle space where depth and overall height are the two main factors in my choice, but your filter options no longer include these? Am I looking in the wrong place or did you decide to remove these options?
The stand adds about 1-1/2 to 2" to the rear of the TV, so you can use that as an approximate guide.

Can Alexa along with any and all microphones be disabled? Is the only microphone on the remote or is there one built into the TV? I don't want my TV/Amazon listening to me.

You have to hold a button down on your remote in order to activate Alexa, so yes, you can effectively disable it by never using the feature. The "listening" seems to be done on the remote's end, so the TV won't pick up any audio from you if you're not trying to use Alexa.

I have the x3 and the cord sticks to some of my clothes. Is this the same or does the new cord material work better?

I had no trouble with the cord for the Tarah Pro sticking. The braiding could perhaps attach to any clothing that has small, protruding fibers, like a sweater, but not on a sweatshirt or T-shirt.

What is the difference between this Netgear Universal Wi-Fi range extender and the Netgear AC750 Wi-Fi extender?

What is the difference between this Netgear Universal Wi-Fi range extender and the Netgear AC750 Wi-Fi extender?
The Netgear Universal WiFi Range Extender broadcasts the a/b/g/n WiFi standards, while the Netgear AC750 broadcasts the newer ac standard. Most WiFi-ready equipment uses the N standard (or something older), so unless you own a device that's capable of receiving ac wifi signals (and you have a fast enough internet connection that'll let you see the speed difference), you're better off with the Universal (i. e. non-ac) extender. Ac-capable routers still run in the +$100 dollar range, so unless you already own one, it's best to hold off on ac extenders.
