This set is a steal, especially after a $5 discount for participating in Best Buy's Upgrade and Save. Just trade in a DVD and receive a coupon for $5 off any blu ray priced $9.99 and above! If you don't buy this for $10 I don't know what's wrong with you!
Raging Bull is #4 on the AFI (American Film Institute) top 100. That's the #4 movie of all time as rated by what many (including myself) would argue is the most respectable body of film critic's in the United States! This is the story of Jake "The Bronx Bull" La Motta's rise and fall. Even though I knew very little about La Motta before I first saw this movie, as he was well before my time, just the story itself was fabulous and this one movie on it's own is worth $10 easily. This movie won 2 Oscars including best actor (Rober De Niro). To prepare for the film, De Niro worked out with the real-life La Motta for an entire year, between April 1978 and April 1979. Now that's dedication!
I think anyone over the age of 30, maybe even 25, has seen Rocky. Rocky is one of the best movies of all time as recognized on list after list, including the AFI top 100 at #57. It is a story about pulling yourself up by your boot-straps by pure will and determination; achieving your dreams by refusing to give up no matter what happens and what obstacles get in your way. It is an uplifting movie and a fantastic inspirational tale. A great family movie night film for parents with kids over the age of maybe 8 or 10.
I haven't seen The Usual Suspects yet but I read several reviews on it and so can you. Just use the search bar on this site for "Usual Suspects blu" and you will see the individual release of this has 9 user reviews so you can look there for individual reviews of the Usual Suspects (and the other 2).
All-in-all, this set is a STEAL and the discs of each movie in the set are the exact same as the individual releases to the best of my knowledge. From someone on a tight budget this was one of only three movies, out of the thousands Best Buy carries, that I have purchased during the current Upgrade and Save. I am a very picky buyer and extremely frugal. When you consider the price combined with the critical and audience ratings on these three films -this is THE BEST blu ray deal Best Buy has at the moment in my opinion.

Didn't care for the cinematography. Skating scenes look great, other scenes look dull. This was obviously intentional for some reason and it's not terrible by any means, the lighting is just kind of drab in the non skating scenes.
Movie was great and this is the best it's going to look anytime soon (even with upcoming technology because the source material is the problem; you can't go back and change the way it was shot) so I would highly recommend this movie to comedy fans. It also gets better and better the more you watch it IMO. The audio is definitely above average for a comedy.

This is an OK DVD. More than OK if your child really like to sing. Mine likes to sing but not just to anything and everything. Some of the songs she would sing but mostly she's meh about the whole thing so we stopped showing her this DVD. I know it's going to vary from kid to kid but unless your kid just loves to sing along with Elmo on anything and everything, I recommend going with some kind of regular Elmo DVD with stories similar to those found on Sesame Street.
It also may be better for an older child, maybe 4 or 5, but by the same token they my find some of the songs and games too young for them.

There's a reason the American Film Institute has Lawrence of Arabia at #7 on their all time best list! This is one of the best movies of all time and the blu ray transfer is one of the best too! Buy it.

I am a child of the 80s so this movie has a special place in my heart as it is a movie ABOUT coming of age. The characters were a little older than I was when I first saw it, but it was one of my favorite movies growing up and still holds a strong place in my heart as an adult. For me this is the best coming-of-age movies of all time and one of the top 10 movies of the 80s. The plot is set in the 50s but even in the 80s I could relate, the theme is relatable for any kid growing up or any adult looking back.
If they have seen the movie and believe it's appropriate, which I can't imagine why not (but that's my opinion), I especially recommend parents to show this to their teenagers. Unplug your kids from their gaming systems, iPod, or laptop, and set them down for some family bonding time with a viewing of Stand By Me.

One of the best action movies of the past 5 years

You just don't see the "revenge" action flick enough these days! This had the no-holds-barred, singular focus revenge is all that matters feel of action movies of the 80s and 90s. Except the plot was better. And the acting was better! I bought this as a "blind buy," which means I had never seen. Got a fantastic deal - Thanks Best Buy! - and loved the movie.

Great movie about following your heart and dreams!

For a guy I might be a bit of a sucker for romantic movies. I will qualify that, though, by saying that I am a bit picky at the same time. I did not see any of the cheese that I am always hoping to avoid. This movie felt genuine and devoid of cheese and bad acting. I know some folks may not think Owen Wilson is the best actor but he did a far better than adequate job here; a great job indeed! Though the characters did not explore a vast area of Paris, I quickly became immersed in the film and the setting of Paris.
This a great couples movie or just a great movie about following your heart and your dreams and that the smart choice of whom to be with isn't always the choice right choice/ the choice that is going to make us happy.

One of the best of all time

The plot is fantastic. The acting is fantastic. The cinematography is fantastic. And the 4K remaster restoration is AMAZING.
Now for something very useful that some may not know! The version of Casablanca available in the double pack with The African Queen IS NOT the 4K restoration. It is the old, less than mediocre transfer. So if you think you're getting an amazing deal buying the African Queen/Casablanca double pack, that may still be true for some (not me), but what you are NOT getting is the 4K remaster of Casablanca.

Fantastic; Best Documentary I've seen in YEARS!

The is the best documentary I've seen in at least 10 years. This is a harrowing account of what our brave soldiers go through on what is thought to be one of, if not the, most dangerous area in the Afghanistan War. Don't want to give the movie away too much in my review. This is MUST OWN for war buffs, history buffs, those who pride themselves in staying as abreast as possible on world affairs - really this is a must own for anyone!
The only thing lacking is the audio. I only wish they had released this with a lossless track but this is certainly and absolutely not a good enough reason to not own this movie.

Upgrade and save mobile check?
Is this promotion a simple check your phone plan and you get an "upgrade and save" 5 dollars off? There is no commitment or phone plan charge is there? Thanks
First off, this promotion is not running during the current Upgrade and Save.
To answer your question, though, all they do is use your current mobile # and check with your current mobile carrier to see if you are eligible for an upgrade. What it means by checking if you are eligible for an upgrade is this: they check to see if your mobile provider will allow you an equipment discount on a new phone if you renew your contract (sign a new usually 2 year contract with your current mobile provider.
Best Buy just checks with your mobile carrier to see if you are eligible for a new phone discount (upgrade) from your current cell phone provider. Unless you choose to get a new phone and thus renew your contract based on the information returned on your upgrade check; there is NO CHARGE to you or commitment from you by Best Buy simply checking to see if you are eligible for an upgrade.

For the trade-in offer, is this on any DVD's or specific ones you're wanting? I have like 500 DVD's and am slowly upgrading to Blu-ray but it's costly. So I would like to know if it's any DVD so I can maybe take advantage of this while the promotion is still going on.
I'm not quite 100% sure what you are asking but I will provide you with an answer that I think will give you the information you seek.

If your Trade & Save promotion is "in-store only", why don't you give your custumers a better selection to choose from?
I spoke with a Customer Relations agent yesterday and she told me that Best Buy is attempting to make changes to increase the # of movies you can choose from for this promotion. She seemed legitimately excited about this and seemed to really believe it, so hopefully it will indeed come to fruition that Best Buy takes steps to increase selection for this promotion.

In the terms and conditions it states that you must have a "recycling receipt" to accompany the coupon. What is that and do we obtain it? Does BB give it with the coupon???
Yes. If done properly, the Customer Service Agent will print out and staple a recycling receipt to your coupon(s).

I have a box set of the first six Star Trek movies. Would I receive a $5 coupon for each movie in the box set or just one?
To receive an upgrade and save coupon you must have a factory original DVD in it's original case, with a UPC barcode. So the answer to your question would depend on how many UPC barcodes are on the set. If your box set only has one UPC bar code it would only net you one U&S coupon. In additional to additional terms, it is stated in the terms of the promotion that it is one coupon per UPC barcode.

why do some have 1080P while others have AVC @ 26 MBPS
All blu rays are 1080p. That is the video resolution. AVC is just the type of video encode used on the blu ray. They are two mutually exclusive things.

Is a movie ticket for Toy Story 3 included in the blueray package of Toy Story and Toy Story 2?
Yes it is. I purchased both Toy Story and Toy Story 2 and you get a movie ticket with each. You have to log into the Disney Movie Rewards site and go through a short process, however. It is a guided process and very simple. There are not physical tickets inside the packaging.
