The captain of the East High basketball team and the key member of the academic club shock the student body by teaming to audition for the upcoming school musical in a Disney Channel Original Movie that's all about being yourself and following your dreams. Troy (Zac Efron) is best known as the player who keeps the East High basketball team on the scoreboard. Of course, life isn't always about athletics, though, and as Troy slam dunks on the boards, beautiful and brainy Gabriella (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) is raising the reputation of East High as the key member of the school's successful academic team. Despite their outgoing natures, no one would ever peg Troy and Gabriella as theater types. When word gets out that this popular pair has secretly chosen to reach for the stars and try their luck on the stage, the students of East High are about to learn an important lesson in teamwork while gearing up for a musical performance that will have their audience dancing in the aisles.

Not too good!

High School Musical is not a very good depiction of a realistic high school. So many kids will grow up believing that this is the way high school is...it's not. Although some of the songs are good, the plot line is kinda old.
Kenny Ortega directs Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker in the supernatural comedy Hocus Pocus, which arrives on DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, making this a pedestrian release from Disney/Buena Vista that will appeal primarily to Midler enthusiasts.

This is a humorous halloween movie for disney to have made. It still even kinda creeps me out, but I loved it the whole time.
Adam Sandler's Big Daddy comes to DVD with a pair of images. The widescreen transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1 and is preferable to the standard full-frame 1.33:1 image. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a "making of" featurette that aired originally on HBO, talent files, original theatrical trailers, bonus trailers, and music videos from Garbage and Sheryl Crow. Fans of Sandler will not be disappointed with this disc.

"Big Daddy" isn't too amazing, but it makes the cut for me because it's not a too cheesy movie and is pretty humorous in some of it's parts.
The Spice Girls' debut feature comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The image does a fine job of capturing the bright colors. An English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. French, Spanish, and English soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. Subtitles are accessible in all three of those languages as well. For all those who can't get enough "girl power," the disc contains live footage of the Spice Girls not seen in the original theatrical release.
