Worth the money

I waited for this phone for practically a year. After all the CES phone delays I kept waiting, and I was going to get the S2 but since Verizon dropped it and offered this instead, I go it. I had the HTC Droid Eris before for 2 years and the difference between that phone and this phone is nothing short of incredible.
My HTC phone had a 5MP camera and so does this one but you can really see a significant difference. The shutter speed is as fast as it can be. If you blink, you'll miss taking the picture; it's that fast. I do agree with a previous review in that the screen makes the picture appear brighter and sometimes clearer but after it has been taken it looks a little duller in the gallery. It's not bad, it's just noticeable. Also when taking pictures, it recognizes faces. I thought that was pretty cool. I didn't even know it til I was taking a picture of two people and it automatically put boxes on their faces and auto-focused for me. I also wanted to test how well it took pics on the go. I was sitting in a van going 75MPH and took a picture outside my window and it came out pretty clear. It wasn't blurry much at all so that shutter speed is a great thing for this phone.
At first, the signal coverage was terrible. I had serious thoughts of returning the phone but I kept with it to give it a chance seeing how I have til Jan 14th to return it to Verizon. If you do have signal problems, turning on and off the airplane mode seems to fix it. I haven't had to do that since the first few days of owning it though so in my opinion, whatever the problem was, it's fixed now. As far as coverage goes, it seems to work fine for me. I don't notice it being weaker or stronger, hit or miss any different than my previous android phone.
The new OS, Ice Cream Sandwich, 4.0, is awesome! I love it. This phone has a multitasking button next to the home button and I think i'll find it very handy while I use the phone over the next couple of years. I personally won't miss the search button although the Nexus has the standard "google" widget on all screens at the top which is not removable unless you get a launcher app or unlocked it from what I can tell.
The battery issue. Yes it is short. I expected it to be because of the screen but honestly it lasts less than I expected. I did buy the extended battery for $25 although I don't find it to be significantly better. Still, having 2 is better than 1 for me. The extended battery does come with a back cover but the standard back that comes with the phone works as well. The bigger battery doesn't make the phone bigger which is nice. I also think the cover that comes with this is a little heavier duty. Overall, i'd say heavy users definitely need to get the ATK app and or the juice defender app to help keep that battery alive longer. The back covers are slippery and doesn't provide much grip but so far it's not enough for me to buy a case. I do wish it was more grip friendly though
Volume-wise, I would say it does seem lower than other phones. As previously said, the volume+ app can help some with this.
The screen is brilliant. It's very responsive and I haven't had any problems with it. It's bright and I can see it outside when it's sunny. I have put a screen protector on it even though it's gorilla glass. If I had to complain, I'd say I wish the screen would dim lower than it does.
Since it is a big screen, how easy and comfortable it is for people with small hands is a preference thing. For some it's too big for a phone, but for me, going from a 3.2" screen to this 4.6" has been quite a different experience but I've loved it.
Overall, I think it's a happy medium between the offered rivals right now. The Razr is super thin but the Nexus offers a thin phone as well. To me the Razr is uncomfortable in the hand because of the edges while this one is smoother. The Rezound's promotion is Dr Dre beats. It seems like its screen is not as wide as the Razr or Nexus. It's a 4.3" screen but it seems smaller than the Razr. The beats are pretty nice on it though. I have some nice Sony earphones that I use with my Nexus which I also use with my ipod and truthfully, the Nexus is comparable enough for me to the ipod although I'd need to test the beats with both to get a really good comparison. I'm sure the Rezound would have the upperhand but unless you're gona just use it for music, I wouldn't make that the decision factor. I also chose the Nexus over these 2 phones because I'm unsure of how sucessful the 4.0 update is going to be with them. They both have their own UI so it has to be incorporated into the update. I had a bad experience with that and my Droid Eris so I didn't want to take the chance again. I also think the 4.0 OS w/o Samsung/Motorola/HTC's UI over it is much better. Google will also get this phone updates cleaner and faster than other branded phones.
What's great about it: Screen, responsive, camera, coverage
What's not so great: Battery...but that does go for all smartphones

if you want some standard earphones, get those gummy ones that are around $10-12. I have had those and love them much more than these. The sound quality is the same. Comfort is better with the gummies and stay in ur ears better. These being $40 have nothing over the $12 pair i use. If you want them for the name or just because thats what comes with the ipods and you want to keep it standard like that then by all means go ahead but if you want earphones to replace current ones or just to have some, dont go with these
What's great about it: Nothing, They are standard earphones.
What's not so great: quality. For $40 i expect something more than normal

Soo wanted to give this album a 6 out of 5 but wasnt allowed to. haha! This cd is crazy good. It has soooo many wonderful songs. I got it when it came out and i still have yet to find a better album than this one since i bought it. I still listen to it alll the time. The songs never get old, they are timeless, much of all MJs work is tho. Michael is a musical legend and this album i think is just as good as all of his others...so i guess that makes it an awesome cd.
Tho the album sold somewhere around 10 million copies and is said to be a failure by many pro reviewers. I think its looked to as a failure cuz of the number sold. To many artists 10 million is a successful album but mj sold that many without much promotion. It got wrongly halted by the producing company. So really he could have sold twice as many. He usually makes several videos with his albums but only could do one with You Rock My World. He said he wanted to go 4+ other songs with a video but couldnt because the company not promoting his album anymore.
So i basically love this cd and its got great songs from start to finish and it is so definately worth the money!
What's great about it: Great from beginning to end
What's not so great: wasnt promoted enough!
I would recommend this to a friend!
