It works well.

This adapter is works well, I have no complaints, had no problem connected to my Acer Monitor that I got for My Mac Mini which is a VGA monitor, and thought it is overpriced it is not as much overpriced as the major brand thunderbolt to vga adapters, that's one advantage to getting something from Best Buy under one of their private labels, the prices while still hight, are never as high as major brands.
What's great about it: Connection is no problem, and works well with any monitor that's a VGA monitor
What's not so great: Over Priced
I would recommend this to a friend!

It has very limited applications

I got this tablet reacently, and returned in less than a week. Now bear in mind, my review of this particular tablet is somewhat subjective, I am not basing my review on any defects in the hardware of the unit, what I am basing my review on is the unit's limitations which compells me to regard it as not worth the money the unit costs.
First of all, I will list what is good about the tablet:
1. It's plays videos nicely, I was surprised to when I played a video on it how well it showed the video, I was expecting to have to squint my eyes to see the program, not the case at all, it's no different than watching a program on a portorable television device.
2. It's got decent audio output though the decibel output is low, the quality of the audio output is good.
3. It has an HDMI outpud, and a USB port which you will need an adapter for, it's USB micro, however, you can get an adapter online for a few dollars.
4. It's a very good size, 4.3 inches which makes it great for portability.
Now onto what's bad about it:
1. If you are like me, and you're looking for a tablet for mobile communications, to use your Skype line or service from some other Voice Over IP when away from home, this is where the unit fails miserably.
I'll explain
This is an Android tablet. Skype just started very reacently started making a version of their software for Android, and that's only for the current version of the operating system, 3.0, and up. So if you have a version of Android that's anything under 3.0 you will not be able to access Skype on it. The version of Android that is on this tablet is 2.2 which is a year, and a half old version of the operating, besides not being able to acces Skype on it, that is in general some serious audacity of this manufacturer putting an outdated version of the operating system on a unit that's selling at the retail level for what it costs.
I am very surprised that any manufacturer of tablets is able to get away with that because no manufacturer would away with that with computers. If a computer manufacturer put an outdated version of Windows on one of their model computers, everybody who bought it would return it, and that would probably make the news. I am an independent journalist, and I am actually considering writing an article about this myself.
Again my review is not entirely objective because I was in the market for a tablet for an entirely different reason than most folks are in the market for these devices for. My reason for getting this device was for mobile communication away from home. I have a Skype account, and it is a PAID subscription, (Yes Skype does have a paid service). The difference their paid, and free accounts, is the free account is only good for communicating within their network, the paid account works just like a regular landline phone except by computer, you get a number, and you can dial any landline, or cell number, and you can send text messages to any cell phone with a paid account.
Anayway, my purpose for investing in a tablet was to be able to use my paid Skype account away from home rather than just at home so when I realized I could not access Skype on this unit, at that point it was of absolutely no use to me at all, I mentioned the good aspect of the unit however, for me those are secondary, primary is my Skype Account.
2. which relates to 1. With tablets in general including this one, you're stuck with what you get, in other words unlike a computer, if you get a computer with Windows on it for example, and you're like me someone who has nothing but contempt for Windows, you can always take Windows off, and put Linux on it, with tablets, you have to live with whatever version of Android is on the tablet good, or inferior because there is NO WAY TO REPLACE THE OPERATING like you can on a computer, so keep that in mind before investing in this or any tablet on the market.
3. If you're getting a tablet for playing videos, you won't like this one, as I said the videos it will play show nice on the screen however, there is a catch, IT WON'T PLAY ALL VIDEOS! There are some videos where when you press play, it will just show it like a still picture, it won't play the video file.
4. I don't know if every version of Android is dysfunctional, however, the version that's on this tablet is very agrivating, it's nearly as bad as Windows, and you know when you get as bad as Windows, you've gotten as screwed up as you can possibly get. The operating system freezes easily, and often, and the only thing you can do is reboot, in some cases you will find yourself having to reset the operating system, I have never had that kind of problem with Apple, or Linux and I use both of those operating systems on a regular basis.
5. It has to be connected to a computer to charge the unit because it does not come with a wall outlet charger which for a unit that costs as much as it does does not make any sense, and the public should not have to tolerate that sort of thing.
To wrap up this review:
The bad;
1. You will not be able to access Skype as well as possibly a lot of other applications you might need because it has an outdated version of the operating system on it, and the variety of apps available for this version of Android is VERY LIMITED.
2. No way to replace the operating system so you're stuck with an inferior operating system.
3. Some video files it will not play
4. The version of the operating system that is on this unit is nearly as bad as Windows, it freezes easily and the onlly way to fix it is to reboot the operating system, and at times you'll even find yourself having to reset the operating system.
5. It does not have a wall charger, you will need to connect it to a computer to charge the battery.
The good;
1. It plays videos nicely, (the ones it will actually play that is)
2. While the decibel output is lacking on this unit, the quality of audio output compensates for that.
3. It has hdmi, and a usb port which will require an adapter, however you can get one of those inexpensively, so no need to freak over that.
4. The screen size is a very good size for a unit for carrying with you, very portable at 4.3 inches.
My conclusion, the unit has it's good points as I have pointed out, however the question you have to answer for yourself whether considering this or any unit like it for you do the good points outweigh the bad points.
What's great about it: Great portable size, usb input, hdmi input, plays video nicely, has decent audio quality
What's not so great: Can't access Skype, limited selection of apps, very poor OS, can't replace OS, won't play some videos, No wall charger
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great utilitarian value
on August 24, 2011

This machine while spendy has greater utilitarian by far than not only machine less expensive than it, also machines more expensive than it! This machine dry vacuums using water as it's filter so there's no debree going back into the air when cleaning the canister, and it shampoos carpet, rugs, furniture, and washes hard floor surfaces.
The downside to this machine which is the same problem you will have with everything made under the monetary system, planned obsolescence! That's why with anything electronic that's important to you, shop from a retailer like Best Buy that offers extended warranties, extended warranties are your one line of recourse against the criminal practice of planned obsolescence from all manufacturers That's why I am a firm believer in extended warranties.
Having said that, what I really like about this machine is, it's a machine that enables the user to professionally clean carpeting rugs, and cloth furniture without spending the extravagant amounts money that "professional cleaners" charge, in fact this machine actually does a better cleaning job than professional cleaners do, and having to go through the hassle of renting an extractor from a hardware store for $30.00 per day, and returning it the next day.
I recommend instead of standard cleaning chemicals with the machine for washing carpet, and furniture or hard floor surfaces, use a combination of baking soda, and water as your cleaning solution, or vinegar. Those are very good natural cleaners that won't have you coughing from toxic fumes, and they're very effective cleaners. Baking Soda for Furniture and Carpet, and Rugs, Vinegar for hard floor surfaces.
To give you an idea of how impressive this machine is, I got a chair from Goodwill that was very dingy, and smelly which is typical of used furniture from a thrift store. When I got done cleaning that chair with this machine and the cleaning solution I recommend, that chair did then, and still does look, and smell like a brand new chair! In fact when I have company over, they often think it is a brand new chair.
It's very good for cleaning bare floor surfaces as well. You will definitely want to use the microfiber cloths that come with the machine though for cleaning hardwood, or tile because the bristles on the hard floor attachment will scratch those surfaces.
Hands Down, this machine is the absolute best for dry vacuuming because it uses water as it's filter so absolutely no debree is going back into the air when you clean the canister.
Now one thing I don't like about the canister is, it is a lot of work to clean it when done using the machine because there's more to it than just rinsing it out, you also have to clean the filters, and the various components of the canister. However, it does an impressive job at dry vacuuming especially with the air powered floor brush attachment, it's got impressive suction.
The owners manual says to use hot water when using it for shampooing or washing hard floor surfaces, however, you really don't have to because the machine has a built in heater, and the heater works very well.
Normally I don't like filters, however, I give Bissell credit for the filters on this machine because they're not disposable filters as you will find on most vacuum, and air cleaning machines. The filters on this machine are washable and will last the life span of the machine as long as you wash them after each use of the machine, which is part of the hassle I mentioned earlier of cleaning the machine after use, however, it's like everything else in life, it's a trade off.
This is my second one of this model since 2008. I got Best Buy's extended warranty, and had to use it this year in June, and the Geek Squad people ordered it replaced because they don't service vacuum machines, one thing good about Best Buy's warranties is if you use your extended warranty, it's fulfilled. However, they will let you buy the warranty again when you get your replacement unit.
Again as I said before there is nothing on the market that does not have planned obsolescence and this machine is no exception to that rule
2 things to watch out for if you decide to get the Bissell Big Green Complete:
1. The air powered floor attachment will stop working after a few years depending on how frequently you use it.
2. Don't be surprised if you experience a problem again after some years with the spraying mechanism when shampooing or wet cleaning hard floor surfaces. This is what will happen, the spraying mechanism is supposed to spray in a jet stream pattern, if it fails as it did in my case, it will only spray in a single line which is no good, you will never be able to do an affective cleaning job that way.
So those are the 2 reason why I had to use the warranty on the machine. I had them replace it with the same model, and bought the warranty over again.
So those are the 2 things at least from my experience with this machine to be mindful of. Neither of those things will happen within your first couple of months using the machine at least not likely, if they do as they both did in my case it will be more than likely after a 3 years or so.
Like any other vacuum machine, or anything electronic this one has it's upsides, and downsides, seamless, no. For me though the upsides outweigh the downsides significantly. Some of you might find the monetary price of the machine spendy $300.00+, however, I would highly recommend this machine over a number of machines that are more expensive than it is at prices of upwards of $3,000.00 that are only good for dry vacuuming there fore don't have anywhere near the utilitarian value of this machine.
What's great about it: Dry vacuums USING WATER AS IT'S FILTER, shampoos carpeting, and furniture, and wet cleans hard floor surfaces.
What's not so great: Air powered floor brush, and spraying mechanism tend to fail after a few years of use.
I would recommend this to a friend!
