"BEST ARTIST NOT TO HAVE FOUND A MAJOR AUDIENCE"
on November 29, 2009

I saw her on David Letterman's Late Show SEVEN YEARS AGO and never forgot her. couldn't find her CD's in stores, and just happened to notice an article in our local newspaper about her show here, two days later. I knew I had to be there. She and her one-man-band accompanist Alex Wong (CD co-producer) put on an incredible show. My wife was reluctant to go, since she wasn't familiar with any of her music, but she even commented to VT that she really enjoyed the show.
CHECK OUT HER VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE.
My headline is a quote from another review I found on a website.
It's not rock and roll, per se, but I really like it. I bought this CD after the show and have listened to it probably at least FIFTY times since ( in 2 weeks). I even wanted to go to her show the next weekend in Kansas, but my wife wasn't up to the trip, at the time. I plan on purchasing her other albums and seeing her again whenever she may be in my region of the country again.
What's great about it: A DELICATE TOUCH THAT IS FIRM AND COMMANDING WHEN NEEDED.
I would recommend this to a friend!

FINALLY, THE FIRST FOUR IN STEREO, AND ALL REMASTERED. SHOULD SOUND EVEN BETTER THAN PREVIOUS CD VERSIONS. THOSE SOUND GREAT, BUT THESE SHOULD HAVE BETTER DYNAMICS AND CLEANER SOUND.
What's great about it: THE FIRST FOUR IN STEREO!!
What's not so great: WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE?

On this DVD, Roy Orbison performs 17 of his biggest hits with a list of guest stars that is as impressive as it is long. The disc has a standard full-frame 1.33:1 image. English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital Stereo, and DTS 5.1. There are neither closed-captions nor subtitles. Although there are no extra features on this disc, the songs themselves, along with appearances by Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, k.d. lang, and a host of others, make this a disc any music fan would want to see and hear at least once.

Roy Orbison: Black & White Night

I FIRST SAW THIS PROGRAM WHEN ORIGINALLY SHOWN ON HBO IN THE 80'S. I WAS BLOWN AWAY WITH JUST THE STEREO MTS SOUND THEN. EVEN BETTER ON DVD NOW.
LANDMARK PERFORMANCE OF ROY'S GREATEST HITS WITH BIG NAME SUPPORTING PLAYERS.
IF ARE A FAN OF ROY, THIS IS THE FIRST DVD YOU SHOULD BUY.
IF NOT, YOU PROBABLY WILL BE BY THE TIME THE PROGRAM ENDS.
MY LOCAL PBS STATION RUNS IT FROM TIME TO TIME, IF YOU WANT TO PREVIEW IT. I ALWAYS TUNE IN WHEN THEY DO.
What's great about it: INCREDIBLE MUSIC, INCREDIBLE SOUND
What's not so great: WISH IT WAS 2 HOURS INSTEAD OF JUST ONE.
I would recommend this to a friend!
