This movie tells a great story with music. You won't see random song and dance. The music just fits beautifully in this movie. Bonus is that the songs are awesome! The 2 characters aren't actors trying to sing. They are 2 musical artists that are trying to act, which they pull off greatly!
When I watched the trailer for this movie, what sold me was the music. I was really hyped for it and I wasn't let down. I even bought the album! Go Indy film! They won an Oscar for best original song, which was well-deserved.
I loved the story, but I won't spoil it. Just buy it!
What's great about it: Music, story behind the movie
The lyrics cover Eminem's current stage in life, his anger for bad rappers, and the struggle he's gone through losing his best friend (Proof) and how he's gotten through/going through it.
First of all, his flow and lyrics are crazy on this album. I waited to buy the album to listen to it. I know a lot of people were downloading the album off the web before it was released, but I patiently waited. I wasn't let down. I put Eminem at the top of the list of rappers and he proved it with this album. He's angry again in this album, but also has a lot of heart in it. You can tell he put a lot of effort in this album. Some of my favorite tracks: Cold Wind Blows, W.T.P., Going through Changes, Not Afraid, Space Bound, No Love, and Untitled (ridiculous!).
Some of the negatives are Pink's existence on this album (she's forgettable) and Eminem can't sing on every song. He can pull it off most of the time, but it wasn't that good on track 16 which is his tribute to his best friend, Proof. Although, it's still a really good song.
What's great about it: Eminem's lyrics, his flow
What's not so great: Eminem can't sing on every song. Pink? Not so much.
