This multimedia storage cabinet's 7 sectioned, fixed shelves let you store and display up to 609 CDs or 420 DVDs, making it easy to store a large media collection. The wide base and wall anchor kit provide reliable stability.

first of all this is a media storage not a bookcase. that being said, it does just what is says. I have to say I love my movies, I have over 1300 movies on 4 different formats (VHS, DVD, HD-DVD, & Blu-Ray)on 3 of theese (about to get another) and the adjustable shelves that this media storage has makes the adjust to the different sizes easy, and they give plenty of shelves (only problem i have is storing the extra shelves.)
because of the sizes and material, it is a bit flimsy when first put together. However, when you put it up against the wall and add the media its more than adequite.
What's great about it: compact and great capacity
What's not so great: some assembly req.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Audio output from Toshiba 42" Regza does not mute going thru my aux tuner

I have a sony tuner that with my older Toshiba 40" hooked up to Comcast was able to mute the entire sound even the audio output. But now with my new Toshiba Regza 46" it will only mute the TV and my sony tuner still is able to be heard. what is up?

Do I need a magic button for this to work!
the mute and speaker volume adjustments can be accessed throught the menu system. i did it with my old toshiba 50"DLP and with my 32" toshiba LCD but you have to go through the menu and play with the audio settings.

Laptop HDMI connections bad for Plasma?

Mentioned to a salesman today that I often hook up my laptop to the TV for watching movies and stuff. Currently using S-video on my older television but I believe my laptop has HDMI outputs so that would be what I use on a new TV. He said he highly recommended LCD for me because a laptop wouldn't be sufficient for a plasma and might ruin the television. Likened it to how speakers that are too powerfull draw to much energy.

This is the first I've heard of this so any advice would be greatly apreciated. Kinda confused why laptops would be made with such connections if they don't work with the TV.
I have used my laptop with my 50" plasma no problems. The most it would do to your TV is if you leave it alone for too long without a screensaver, it can burn a ghosting image onto your TV.
I would however recommend using a smaller TV for a better picture though when I hook up to my 27" LCD the picture is a little better(tighter pixels) my 50" plasma uses the same pixel but enlarges them so the picture isn't as clear. (# of pixels used controled by the laptop) that being said, the size is the determinatint facter, using same size, the plasma has a higher refresh and usually a better picture than the lcd.

the analogy with the speakers is wrong to, you want speakers that surpas your reciever because a reciever that is too powerful can and will blowout your speakers but the speakers wont burnout your reciever. the size of your speaker wires also have a limitation to that.

I would recomend the Plasma.
