August Wi-Fi Smart Video Doorbell: This doorbell lets you see who's at the door from wherever you are via a downloadable app. The 1-way video camera allows you to view and speak to your visitor without them seeing you.

Great idea, but WAIT FOR V2, 3, or 4
on September 20, 2016

I am an IT professional with a background in networking. Here is the largest problem I have had with mine: The wifi module in the doorbell cam is ridiculously under powered. With my home router just 10 feet away, I was getting about 59-62dBm. August says it should be between -66 and 0 for good video performance. this is not at all true - the camera and the sound generally only work if you can get the dBm to -30-35dBm. So, I bought a second Netgear r6400 router to use as an additional access point. This brought the signal to about 54-56dBm, and it is still very choppy and the sound rarely works properly. I then bought a dedicated wifi range extender, and plugged it into the wall inside, directly adjacent to the doorbell. Same result - the Doorbell simply cannot make anything of a signal that runs through any walls. I then tried to put the wifi range extender outside on an outlet 7 feel from the doorbell - no better. Finally, I used an extension cord and hand held the wifi extender 3 inches away from the doorbell, and that did it! I got 31-35 dBm, and things actually started working as expected. So, in short, unless you want to put your router OUTSIDE WITHIN THREE INCHES OF The DOORBELL, this thing is a huge waste of money. And don't get me started on the completely unacceptable lag when using the camera and August lock together - it takes up to 20 seconds for it to connect to the lock and actually do anything. Save your money and wait until v3 comes out with battery power and proper signal handling.

Works, but needs cleaning often

These printer cartridges work fine most of the time, but every few weeks the printing starts to look very bad and you need to clean the print cartridge.

Good protection, Terrible Call Quality
on May 20, 2016

This coase keeps the phone dry and protected, as advertised, however no one can hear me on phone calls. I now have to use a Bluetooth earpiece in order to be heard. If you use Bluetooth all the time, then this case is fone - if not, look elsewhere.

Your household is busy streaming media, working online, and playing games every day. This Linksys Wi-Fi Router will expand your network coverage, send signals directly to your devices, and deliver a lag-free connection, even when you’re all online at the same time.

Boosts signal but slows speed down
By User101
First time using a wifi extender. It pairs easy to the linksys router I have in my office. I still get a decent signal from my router upstairs because it is the ac5400 by linksys which has a stronger signal than my old netgear n600 but wanted to try it out upstairs as downstairs the signal is excellent.
As it is an extender with its own network when my laptop or cell phone connected to it instead of the router the speed slowed down. Maybe its that extra hop in between that causes it to slow down as it has to connect to the router and then your device connects to it.
Using it also as a wired range extender caused it to slow down the device connected.
Having a ac router with such a strong signal makes having one of these pointless. I would only get one if you need a signal in a dead spot of your house but from my experience the connection speed won't be as good.
The extender is kinda big and does take up a good bit of space. It has vents on all sides but does produce to much heat and you can feel that heat coming off it.

I think you reviewed the wrong product

This is a router, not a range extender.

One star rating because you didn't read the spec??
September 26, 2016
Why would you slam a vendor with a one star rating for something that is so clearly your fault. It is not their fault you did not do your research before hand. You should remove this review.

AT&T U-Verse Fiber Optic: will this work?

The specs look great! Will this router work with the AT&T U-Verse Fiber Optic network? (They have no meaningful answer... I tried.)

Thank you!
This is a wireless router, not a modem or uverse access box. So, yes - it will work with whatever internet service youi have, but it won;t replace your modem from the carrier. You have to connect this with an ethernet cable to the uverse modem.

Does anyone know if it can be used with Verizon and if so how do you do so

This is a wireless router, and can be used with any internet service. It sounds as if you're not super techie, so let me add this - it will not replace your cable modem or fios box - you still need that, but this router would get connected via an ethernet cable to the FIOS box.
