Finally, a movie I could watch with my niece about latinas, blacks and caucasians, who were all striving for the same goal, winning the state volleyball championship, and getting accepted into college. It was good to see how they weren't gang members fighting for street credit. Frankie j was also nice to look at.
Zelda Barron's quirky coming-of-age comedy Shag comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. Spanish and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials are limited to the original theatrical trailer. This is a fine bare-bones DVD release that will please fans of the film and should interest any fan of the film's talented cast (Phoebe Cates, Bridget Fonda, and Annabeth Gish).

This is a great movie for young women (late teens early twentys) to watch on a Friday or saturday night. I love rooting for the under dog...GO PUDGE. I watched it for the first time when I was 29 years old, I'm now 35 and still love it. I had my 14 year old son watch it with me when I bought it, he liked it...he doesn't usually watch chic flicks, but he enjoyed the music and the storyline as well. A double thumbs up from us.
What's great about it: The music, the dancing, the storyline
What's not so great: none, I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end
