Juan Luis Guerra hit the nail dead smack in the middle with this CD. This was probably his best piece of work since he released Bachata Rosa in the very early 90's. "Quisiera" is a beautiful salsa track with a very decent speed, and good groove for dancing. You can oviously tellt hat Salsa is not the forte of the 4:40, however their stab at salsa is better than the average Salsa groups. "Mi Pc" and "Vale La Pena" are awesome tracks. If you like JLG, you will love his new CD, "Llave de mi corazon". and of course, if you don't have Bachata Rosa in your collection yet, then you are really behind the curve in merengue. Once again, this is a great CD and highly reccomended.
What's great about it: Awesome beats and new sound. Finally a Salsa track worth dancing to.
What's not so great: More ballads than merengue, however this may be a Pro if you like ballads.
this is an incredible CD from Juan Luis Guerra. There is a previous edition released 6 months earlier, however the only glaring difference i the fact this CD has a Portuguese version of "Llave de mi corazon", which if you know portuguese it actually sounds very good. I personally think his voice translates better to Portuguese than English. This CD is probably his best since "Ni es lo mismo, ni es igual" back in 1998. Maybe 3 grass shreds better than that album, and just a noch or 2 under Bachata Rosa. This is a MUST HAVE for anyone that loves Merengue.
What's great about it: Many mainstream hits, same famous sound from 4:40
What's not so great: Only con is this CD is years late
