Much better than had expected, and it is not about racism, but about the combustible rage of some young men. The first hour of the film, I felt like slapping some sense into the Terrence Howard character, but then there was this other young man with a more concealed, deeper deadlier anger. No it was not about a town filled with seething one dimensional racists. The movie could have still been effective if all the players were of the same race.
