Even the creator of Babylon 5, J.M. Straycznski said that season 4 was fast paced and had more special effects shots than any other season.
Considering Babylon 5 is one of the greatest sci-fi shows of all time (notice I didn't say "the best") it is easy to understand why I encourage you to try it out.
But if you do, this is the way to go: 1) Watch "In the Beginning" first - a Babylon 5 movie 2) Watch "The Gathering" second - another B5 movie 3) Then go to season 1-5
you will not be disappointed, trust me on this. In fact, if you watch it all and hate it, I personally will refund all your money spent on the series, hows that for being sure you'll like it!!!
What's great about it: The graphics for season 4 were the best of all 5 seasons
What's not so great: One of the characters is brainwashed
