The new Optima has been out for a year and we finally have a dash kit from Metra. I have wanted to upgrade the stock HU with something better since I bought the car in January. It was worth the wait. Metra really took the time and did it right. Not only is it a perfect fit, but they matched the texture, sheen and color of the existing dash plastic. This kit has a double din opening but comes with a pocket you can add if you want to install a single din radio. The opening is 6 & 13/16" wide and 3 & 7/8" high. My double din screen fits the opening perfectly with no need for the extra trim piece that came with the radio. The instructions are crystal clear and include the rather detailed steps you have to go through in order to remove the stock radio and surrounding trim, as well as how to remove your a/c vent and reinstall it on this kit. BB has no picture above yet, but you can look at the kit on Metra's website.
