Fans of this show know how good it was. No discussion needed.
The best thing here is the price. Best Buy even beat a well known discount Book club by almost 35%.
DVDs from Shout Factory (they like quality) is a very good copy. Great sound and image.
And No commercials to interrupt the stories.
My Best Buy number: 1035105180
What's great about it: COMPLETE Series
What's not so great: going to take awhile to watch!

I bought this Sandisc because it is small enough to fit in a waterproof case I have for beach use. Ii was so easy to use. Works well with Windows media player, this thing is so small yet holds 4 GB of music PLUS up to a 32 GB card. ALL MUSIC PLAYERS SHOULD LET YOU INSERT A CARD!.That is enough music for all summer! The head phones are ok, but I have better. It can read WAV file format,so I can listen to loseless music, which is a plus. I have a 16gb card I found in a run over cell phone! So I loaded over 30 of my favorite albums in LOSELSS format! It does have an upper volume limit so you can’t turn it up too loud. So it is not loud enough for some places I bike ride, maybe that is a good thing! Battery life is fine, went a week of hourly use before a recharge. Checked FM radio, works fine.
It is so light that I plan to keep it in the case for protection.
What's great about it: expandable memory and can play WAV format.
What's not so great: volume limited

Classic Rock and Soul Concert

Earth Wind and Fire and Chicago together. This is probally one of the least expensive blu ray concerts avail. And a very good one to show off your system, both screen and stereo/surround. It is in DTS (also DD) whiich is the best on my system. IF you have the watts, this concert can be turned way up and it will sound great, the camera work and BR quality is superb. It is over 3 hours long so you got that going for you. You can watch a little at a time and not feel bad about "coming back to it" . But that is one reason it's just "routine". I didn't feel bad about stopping it in the middle.But...
If you are a fan of either group you WILL want this.
The concert itself has most all the great songs, from both groups, but it lacks the final star because it doesn't have many special moments. (It does have a few). There is one camera angle from top row that you can detect the camera shaking because of the volume. Minor annoyance.
What's great about it: Picture and sound
What's not so great: routine

VTech makes phones

Got this in a deal of the day. So basically got 2 phones free. Why say it's too little? It's a land lIne phone. People that use land line phones are not used to talking into something the size of a remote. Also the speaker phone button is kinda hidden so you might as well pick up the handset. The batteries to replace cost more than the handsets! it's a crazy electronic world. This set up all seems quality made though. the Intercom feature and expandability is nice for a large estate.
What's great about it: latest tech in landline phones
What's not so great: small handset

The blue tooth aren’t really wireless, just don’t have to be tethered to the unit. Which can be nice if you are say in a pool or calm water and the base unit stays on shore. Otherwise there is not much advantage to blue tooth, the unit is so small, and you still have to be “line of sight” away from it for it to work too far away. If you have a pocket why would you need blue tooth? You decide, otherwise the unit is exactly like the much less expensive E series units. Which are still top of the line players if you ask me. Better than a lot out there. There is one difference than the E Series, this unit is way more sensitive to touch, if it is on, just a slight brush can change settings, and if it is off, just a light touch and it comes on, which will waste your battery. These things need a "hard" on/off swith. The blue tooth headphones also only last about 4 hours b4 recharge., so keep that in mind.
What's great about it: easy music play, sounds great
What's not so great: too touch sensitive

After spending years as the creative head behind the landmark situation comedy The Mary Tyler Moore Show, James L. Brooks went on to create Taxi, one of the best situation comedies in this history of the format. This three-disc set offers every episode from Taxi's first season. Each is presented in the original broadcast aspect ratio of 1.33:1. English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Mono. The lack of any supplemental materials is something of a disappointment, but fans will appreciate having these well-crafted shows available for viewing at a moment's notice.

Oh, You’re only part time? Sure, Everyone here is. See that guy, he’s just here until his boxing career takes off. Him? He’s gonna be an actor. Him? Going to school.
Me? I’m the only one here that’s a full time Taxi driver.”
“Louie, the dispatcher, You know those things under rocks that make you go yeech!, Louie makes those things go “Yeech”.
And don’t forget Andy Kaufman as Latka, the immigrant new to American culture.
If you can imagine late night taxi rides in new york city, and people trying to have a life while being working stiffs, this colorful cast of characters made for some funny, funny stories.
This show won Emmy’s for a reason.
What's great about it: Great writing
What's not so great: you'll want the whole series.

If you know this show, you have to own the first season.
If you don't know this show, or don't remember it You'll love it even more. These little (25 minute) dramas kept you wondering until the end and in that final 30 seconds WHAM! Did you see that coming? Probally not! Even though I knew and loved each of these stories, I am still fascinated when the ending presents itself. The actors, all notable at the time, gave steller performances. And there were lots of them. John Forsythe, Phyliss Thaxter, Cloris Leachman, Patricia Hitchcock, and on and on.
There are 39 episodes in the first season, and I honestly can't pick a best one.
You can learn more about each story on the IMDB,
but NEVER - EVER GIVE AWAY THE ENDING IF YOU ARE SHOWING THESE TO FRIENDS!
And of course Hithcock's wit at the begining and end of the disc, made the show all his own.
This originally came out on dual disc, which are fragile, it may have been re-released later on one sided disc, don't know, but the others seasons are.
What's great about it: great stories
What's not so great: dual sided discs

My Big Fat Greek Wedding: the little film that could. Everyone by now knows the story of this five-million-dollar film that went on to gross well over 200 million dollars. That being the case, why aren't we seeing a bigger release for this DVD? Not that it's a bad disc, it really isn't. It just seems there's so much more that could have been done for such a significant release. The image, which HBO has wisely included both 1.85:1 anamorphic and full-frame transfers, is a fairly solid presentation. Colors, while generally muted, come across nicely, while the darker scenes are dense and don't show any signs of breakdown. Skin tones are very warm, a real plus for this film. The sound, a 5.1 Dolby Digital track, is certainly adequate for this small romantic comedy. In other words, it's not going to test your sound system in any way. Still, the auditory elements are nicely translated to home video, with clear dialogue and a very pleasing quality. What is lacking with this title are a significant number of supplemental features. Other than some decent biographies of the cast is a commentary track from stars Nia Vardalos, John Corbett, and director Joel Zwick. This track is often "matter of fact," but has enough humor and anecdotes to keep it moving along. Vardalos and Zwick contribute more than Corbett, but each has plenty to say about their experiences. People tend to love or hate this film. Those that hate it will steer clear of it, while those that loved it will now have the ability to watch it over and over and over.

Wish I was Greek

What a wonderful story. And apparently all true.
Very funny, without being over the top, well almost.
But I know the food, and the family and the lust for life is not over the top.
Greek culture is so full of life.
There are a lot of scene-stealers and hilarious set ups in this flick. I love all the characters, even the mean old grandmother.
Two beautiful scenes from the movie without giving anything away (but who hasn’t seen this yet?);
“I remember you from that restaurant.”
“I was going though a frump stage.”
“I don’t remember frump, but I remember you…”
And on the bridge, “Did you just say I was beautiful?”
The bonus is that the beautiful Nia Vardalos who this happened to, wrote and stars in the movie.
Added commentaries on the disc are hilarious and insightful too about the story, and the making of.
What's great about it: Funny and Romantic
What's not so great: NOT ENOUGH DANCING!

Must Have Van Morrison Concert
on January 5, 2008
Posted by: AltP
from Florida
Not only is this a 1980 concert of Van Morrison, it also includes a 1974 concert!
These are in between Vans most transendic musical years. People that know his music know what I am talking about. Fans of Van’s live concerts (I’ve seen him 4 times) wait for those moments when he disappears into the song, the music, the voice, and of course - the words.
He reaches these moments several times in both these concerts. Ballerina 7 minutes long, Listen to the Lion, 7 minutes, Spirit (NEVER LET SPIRIT DIE!) 9 minutes, Summertime in England, 10 minutes. Look at the play list!
The sound quality is excellent, I prefer DTS but they are also 5.1.
It is mixed right.
You can play it loud or soft.
The band gets to do a lot of solos, but this is a Van Morrison tour de force for that time period. This was not thrown together. These were inside concerts, well lit, well filmed, and obviously well miked. I am so glad someone found this, who do I thank at Eagle Vision? I can’t believe the price either!
What's great about it: Sound Q and song selection.
What's not so great: none

Waterproof Music!
By aLTp from World's Whitest Beaches
OK, Sony does it again. This is a great music device. I have used it now several times in the gulf. It says for fresh water only, but I rinse it off after use. I feel like it will last several summers. It is well made., Comfortable. Most importantly it sounds great. Real “in your head” stereo mix like only headphones can do. Since you can’t swap out the head phones Sony was smart enough to put some in that sound great. I use MP3 files (312) and wav files. It works perfect with Windows Media Player. I use shuffle sync, works flawless. It is also a perfect unit for yard work, walking, bed, etc because NO WIRES. I tried a Blue tooth head set once, and wires are wires, they get in the way. Plus the blue tooth walkman had “line of site” issues (don’t turn your head!) Battery life so far no issues. It is in the ear, so if you need to hear any outside sounds you will need to turn it down, Noise canceling for sure. Best Buy had this thing at my door 4 days after I ordered it.

Sony comes thru
June 28, 2014
Mailed unit in on a Friday (U. S. Postal), received a brand new replacement the next Friday.
But I wish I knew what happened with the one that broke. It actually worked until the battery went dead.. It just didn't make contact with computer(s ) or wall plug charging, so I suspect issue was with the special docking device. Guess I'll never know.
While it still had battery power, when in the dock, if you pressed the on button, the headset would blink 3 times, and the dock would blink 3 times, then nothing would happen.
