Bought this as a gift for my nephew who wanted to start playing guitar. At 15 years old, I knew that the black finish/design would get his attention and he was thrilled when he unwrapped at X-Mas. As a 20 year pro musician, I got to demonstrate for him and the family that day and the look and feel of the guitar were great. The sound was pretty good based on the hundreds of guitars I've played over the years. The only thing that seemed 'off' was that the guitar was a little light. With no pick-ups, maybe it was supposed to be that light....but as it turns out, the wood is made of a slightly less durable material, perhaps? After a few days of playing, the low-E pin broke while my nephew was playing...I tried replacement pins and none worked...the hole was big and permanent for where the pin should have gone. Returned to store a few days later and they swapped it out for a new one. No real issues with this one. Perhaps it was an isolated incident? Overall, I'd say that for a beginner, this is a nice, inexpensive start to test the waters.
A lot of people think the Saw films got worse as they went along, but that is SO far from the truth. The Saw films got more in-depth as they went along. This film explores the relationship beginnings of John and Hoffman...it is a great 'beginning' as shown in the flashbacks...they allude to Dr Gordon and Det Tapp from the first film and that is just a part of what's great with their "humble" beginnings. The last trap is arguably the hardest one to watch out of the entire series...it's built up so well, and looks to be the most painful. Bravo to Julie Benz and Tobin Bell for bringing this film to life!
What's great about it: Last trap. Origin of Hoffman.
