What a smart comedy. The acting is superb and the story is great. The blu-ray looks and sounds very good for a catalog title. Too bad the sequel was doomed from the begining, but the first one is a classic
First, I have always liked Russell Crowe as an actor. In this movie, his voice is not up that of Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway. And, Javert from the musical had a very powerful voice. This was my first time experiencing Les Miserables, so at times I got a little lost, but loved the musical. Audio and video are great. Really enjoyed Helena Bonham Carter as Madame Thinardier and Samantha Barks as Eponine was a great performance, lovely voice.
As a drama, this movie is excellent. Great action. Both Jessica Chastain and Jason Clarke give great performances. As for the political correctness, I leave thet up the viewer. For this blu-ray, picture and sound are great, very entertaining. Another great directing job by Kathryn Bigelow, if you like The Hurt Locker, then you should like this movie.
