Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1, while French and Dutch soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. There are no subtitles, but both English soundtracks are closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by the directors and producers, an interactive game, a karaoke section, and a making-of featurette. This is an excellent disc from Disney.

the golden moment in this story is at the end when the little girl goes up to Quasimoto and touches his face. She then leads him into the crowd, showing everyone that he is just like them.
TOTALLY moving. makes me cry every time.
What's great about it: lovely music, characters, and story
What's not so great: ABSOLUTELY NONE!!!

This beloved classic tale gets the animated treatment with the original Rodgers and Hammerstein musical numbers intact in this fun release for the whole family from Warner Home Video. Presented in the original 1.85:1 widescreen theatrical aspect ratio and featuring a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack with an alternate French Dolby Digital Stereo track, this release offers no subtitles. Amusing extra features that the kids will love include sing-along lyrics, karaoke presentations, an interactive creative room, a documentary feature, and production notes.

The Road to El Dorado DVD is sure to hold special appeal for those interested in the art of animation. The movie is brought to vivid life with a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen presentation and either DTS Digital Surround, Dolby Digital 5.1, or Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround Sound. Unfortunately, subtitles and audio are limited to English only. Special features of interest to animation fans include "The Making of the Road to El Dorado" featurette; feature commentary with directors Don Paul and Bibo Bergeron; "The Basics of Animation: The Color Script," where each scene of animation is commented on by directors Don Paul and Bibo Bergeron and art director Raymond Zibach; and the production notes, where research trips to the Yucatan and new innovations in animation such as Elastic Reality Warp and Spryticle (a water effect) are explained. On the less techie side is a read-along, Elton John's animated music video for "Someday out of the Blue," the theatrical trailer, and cast and crew bios. While there's little here to hold a child's interest, older fans may just consider the wealth of animation info available on this DVD pure gold.
