Best Mid 4K HDTV on the Market

I was a bit hesitant getting this model because it's brand new and noone had any reviews on it anywhere. The P series received such high praise with it's picture quality. This M series is a notch below and includes everything the P series includes except for the Broad Spectrum Colors, the multiple 2.0a hdmi inputs and has 64 local dim lights instead of the 128 in the P series. With that said, I am a bit curious to see how better the P series picture is because the picture on this M series is phenomenal. After I played around with the picture settings, I was amazed to see how much better my 1080p content looked. The upscaler in this machine does an amazing job of enhancing the clarity and brightness of the content. The black levels are just about ink black while the colors are nice and vibrant. I'll admit I was nervous about getting a Vizio being that I'm a Panasonic plasma guy at heart but trust me, you will NOT be disappointed with this TV. I will say using the Android tablet takes a little getting used to. I'm used to picking up a remote and playing netflix and vudu straight from the TV apps. Now you basically play them on your tablet like you would on google chromecast and cast your app from the tablet to your tv. It's not bad, but might take some getting used to. If I haven't said enough, the picture is spectacular as well as the price. I can't wait to see what a 4k HDR bluray looks like. Go buy this TV...best one for 2016.

I would recommend this to a friend!

I really tried to love this TV
By Sada210
First off the Good :
-Great Size , since allot of manufactures are either going 65 or 75 this is a great price point and size for a medium to larger living room
-The look of the TV is pretty sexy with those nice metal modern legs
-Speakers on this unit are very good , was watching 13 hours and the wife yelled at me 3 times to lower it and it was barely on 48. My surround sound isn't hooked up yet so imagine when it is lol
-Very uniformed screen . When you have a solid white screen on its white . No dark spots etc .
-Dolby Vision . Although not allot of content good feature to have .
-Allot of ports both HDMI and USB
Ok Now the Bad ....
-No HDR10 , this means that if you have a UHD player and buy UHD movie it will not play in HDR . Sad really because most of the HDR content out now is HDR10( both streaming and UHD Discs ) Dolby Vision has about 35 titles on VUDU and that's it . Vizio has promised a HDR10 update in August but sometimes these things can drag .
-The tablet and remotes are horrible and will frustrate you beyond belief . First off the tablet loses signal like crazy . It looses connection every few minutes. Not good when that's your main remote . ( I have very high speed internet at home so before you ask it's not my connection ) When it does stay on for more than 5 minutes the casting is a pain . If your a "casting pro" then you might be used to this but for the average person it's frustrating . You can't just tell your TV with a remote " play Netflix" .... You have to turn on tablet , sync , then press play on your tablet just to produce an image on your screen . I'm a one remote do it all kind of guy . I was litteraly sitting there with the tablet , my cable remote and the little basic remote in my hand lol
Plus how many times have you dropped OR your kids dropped the TV remote ? Allot right ... Well imagine this being a tablet ... Allot of broken tablet remotes out there . Not good . Some might see " just use your phone and download the app" ... Ok that could work for me , but what about my wife who's not a techie . How's that going to work for her ?
-I don't like the delay when switching TV settings ... It's not bad but annoying
-If you never owned a Vizio prepare yourself . Their panels do not pop with brightness ....so to most ( including myself ) these panels look washed out and dull . I think since it's a FALD display the contrast is great but at then same time for a average living room most family members would say wow that screen looks bad or as my wife said " it looks like it's about to give out " lol
Bottom Line :
I tried to love this TV but with the horrible remotes and bad interface this is what has ultimately pushed me to give it 2 stars . The screen is Average , nothing wowed me . Upscaler is not the best . 1080i cable content looked average . 4K looked 4K. But nothing that stood out . The colors even with pro settings and just messing with settings didn't give me a sense of wow this TV is a keeper . I will sadly be returning if or a Samsung 70' KU6300. I get that delivered on the 29th so head over there to read my personal review and opinions on that TV. Thanks !
Oh and I know there's allot of wayyyyy better options at these price points but the wife just dropped a couple grand on that media hutch and since we are coming from a 70' she wants to stay at at a 70' . She wants the TV to fill out the hutch and doesn't want any gaps . It's purely aesthetics with her . I explained quality vs. quantity but I will never win with her lol

If you still own this TV try this.

Go to this Cnet link to calibrate your tv settings http://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/vizio-p-series-2016-picture-settings/ It's for the P series but if you turn up the backlighting this TV really pops with color. I chose all of their settings except that I have my backlight setting on 40.
Also you need to turn on the HDR feature of the TV by going into the TV app. If you click on Inputs, from there go to JDMI Color subsampling and flip it to on. A lot of features are off by default and you need to turn them on. I promise that this TV will not look washed out. The colors are white and vibrant. I also did call Vizio and they are still on target to release HDR10 update to the P and M series. The advantage that this TV has is that Dolby Vision is a feature that needs to be built into TV's which only LG and Vizio are using. Other TV's won't have access to Dolby Vision unless it is built in. HDR10 only requires a software update, so this TV will have the upperhand because it will play both HDR formats as opposed to the Samsungs and Sony's that will only play the one. Either way if you still have your TV I hope this helps, and if you don't then good luck with your Samsung.

I looked at Samsung,LG and Sony and this set is outstanding. The price was great. The picture quality is phenomenal, with HDR . I just hope the firmware upgrade HDR10 will be soon, as all of the 4k bluray players so far only support HDR10

It's faster to download it via thumb drive but if you don't mind waiting, it will update automatically for you within the next few weeks.

Picture and setup
By Jonverl
I'm wanting to like it but not impressed. Had to have Geek Squad to come out and connect the tablet that came with the tv. I couldn't get it to work. I was charged $99.99 for them to come out to get it working. He said it needed to be upgraded. Still can't get my surround sound to work on the tv. The picture just isn't that sharp. Debating on whether I should return it. I would recommend it I can clear the picture up
