Good sound, great system

My love of this product is more about the awesome, stable Sonos system then it is about overall great sound. I would consider the sound quality of this speaker very good, but not great. The imaging is about as good as could be expected with one speaker. The convenience factor is nice though when you want to listen to music and not have to power up a receiver. Having the option of Android and iOS apps to control it is awesome. I have another node connected to my Harman Kardon receiver, but for casual listening when I'm in my room, it's fine. Whatever the frequency is that Sonos uses to distribute music through your house is stable and the software is much less buggy than the competing product (that I had and just sold).
What's great about it: The Sonos system - reliable, stable, convenient
What's not so great: A little pricey
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great screen, too wide
on September 22, 2011

I had this for a week and had the opportunity to read two books on it. The screen was awesome - much better than the first generation Nook. The only problem that I had with it was that it seemed a bit too wide, or maybe it was the combination of width and sharp corners (it is very thin). Whatever the case, it put my hand to sleep often, which was inconvenient to me. I guess if you wanted to use a case that held it up that would not matter, but I prefer to hold an ereader like i hold paper books. Try it for yourself - the screen is very nice.
What's great about it: awesome non-glare screen
What's not so great: too wide, puts my hand to sleep
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Rock Solid Reliable

As I understand it Sonos uses a unique spectrum to transmit music throughout your house. This item allows you to run the system when you don't have a stereo right next to your router or when you have a big house and you need to boost the coverage of your Sonos system. If you love music, this is a great way to get it onto your stereo conveniently.
What's great about it: Reliable, easy to set up
What's not so great: Nothing

Music streaming with Apple simplicity
on August 11, 2011

I had the Logitech Squeeeboz duet for over 2 years and I thought that it was pretty nice. That being said, the constant firmware updates left the unit out of order for more than I cared. When Sonos started offering the Apple iPhone and Android controller apps it pulled the economics of the system out of the stratosphere. The ease in setting up this system (took 5 minutes) and the stability day in, day out is what sets this system apart - it reminds me of Apple. Hearing my digital music and Pandora on my real stereo is a pleasure. If you have the money and you love music, I highly recommend this system.
What's great about it: Simplicity of set-up, stability, smart phone controller apps
What's not so great: price is steep (but a good value for what you get)
I would recommend this to a friend!

The new Apple TV delivers an all-new experience with Touch andSiri, powerful new hardware, and great content, games, and more on the App Store. The Touch surface on the new Siri Remote offers innovative ways to interact with your TV, creating a connected experience with a screen that's across the room. With Siri, finding something to watch is as easy as just asking. And with apps, Apple TV allows you to customize your TV for personal and shared experiences in the living room.

ohhhhh the integration SOOOO EASY!!!
By bigFAT from Carlisle pa
If you have an iphone, buy this device to make your life easier. It's cheaper than renting another cable box, can stream 4K content, works perfectly with your phone and generally makes your life a better place to live in. I even take this with me on business trips to not have to deal with watching videos on my laptop and everything stays the same whether I"m at home or on the road. If you have an andrioid phone and want to buy this apple tv then you've got other problems. But if you have an iphone .... then buy this device and make your life a better place.

Apple TV does not support 4K content
May 4, 2016
Apple TV does not currently support 4K content. That being said, there is not a ton of 4K content available. If you need 4K content streaming you are going to need a Roku 4 or the second generation Amazon Fire TV.

About as Expected
By aixrocks
I didn't leap at getting the original Apple TV as I was disappointed that it didn't have Amazon Prime, so I went with app rich BluRay players that had Amazon Prime.
Since then, I saw a deal on this and even though it still doesn't have Amazon Prime, there are plenty of apps and I wanted the ability to AirPlay from my iOS devices and Macbook, so that's an added bonus since it works seamlessly.
My only complaint thus far is that the YouTube app itself has been spotty on performance, but the rest of the apps I've worked with are much better than the BluRay player versions of the apps I've played with before.
The new remote in typical Apple flair is sleek, but as is also typical of Apple -- high on polish and less on just basic usability. Also a frustration is (again in typical Apple-ness), you don't get batteries, you have to charge it with the lightning cable. Since I have enough Apple gadgets in my house, this isn't a showstopper, but if this were the only Apple product I had, I'd be unhappy with this.
The initial setup of the device would've gone better if it had properly paired with my iPhone (as it will pull over your home WiFi settings, Apple ID, etc. if it can pair with your iPhone or iPad), but instead I had to type all that manually with the remote -- which is (again) frustrating as the remote doesn't use traditional remote style buttons.
My final comment is that this has no audio out if you wanted to run composite L/R audio or to a receiver to play audio. I guess in today's HDTV centric entertainment, maybe this isn't a big deal, but if you had older receivers that you wanted high quality audio piped from your iTunes library or streaming services through to your receiver, it doesn't have this capability. Basically you just have HDMI out. So, if you have a receiver that you funnel all HDMI through it, this would probably work great. If not and you wanted just to listen to music, then you're stuck with listening to it through tinny HDTV speakers.

Potential Solution

Try running a toslink digital optical out from your TV (if your receiver supports optical) or RCA analog out from your TV to the Receiver. You may have to adjust some settings in your tv to make the sound right, but nothing too crazy.
