Escape From New York is presented in both widescreen and full-screen formats on this MGM double-sided DVD edition. The widescreen format is enhanced for widescreen televisions (anamorphic). Overall, the film quality is average. There is a fair amount of grain throughout but nothing that is ultimately distracting. Detail is good, despite the dark conditions of much of the film . The Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround soundtrack is also serviceable, if not outstanding. Good clarity in the dialogue is maintained in the dialogue, and the soundtrack, featuring music by director John Carpenter, sounds better than ever. Unfortunately, MGM has provided a bare-bones package to go with the film. The only extra feature is a theatrical trailer. Considering the classic commentary by Carpenter and star Kurt Russell on The Thing, it is disappointing that a commentary for Escape could not be arranged. Overall, this DVD represents the best that Escape From New York has ever looked or sounded, but with such bare-bones treatment, it is hardly definitive.

Kurt Russell plays a tough guy name Snake Plissken. He his very like charter because he don't take any mess. Issac Hayes play the duke of New York. This is One of my favorite Kurt Russell films
Kevin Costner and Kurt Russell star in 3000 Miles to Graceland, a bloody action film about heists, hairdos, and a lot of Elvis impersonators. Featuring a 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, Warner has done a very nice job on this impressive DVD. All aspects of the image are clear and bright, with colors looking natural and blacks darkly solid. While a small amount of edge enhancement is spotted in a few key scenes, this shouldn't interfere with the viewer's enjoyment of the film. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound (in both English and French) and is also well-produced. The dialogue, effects, and the music are all crystal clear with no sign of distortion present. The directional effects are used constantly and generously throughout the entire movie. Also included on this disc are English and French subtitles. Since 3000 Miles to Graceland was a box-office bomb, it's not surprising to find an anamorphic theatrical trailer and some cast and crew information as the only supplemental features available on this disc.

The open gun fight was great. But the story line was weak at best. The ending was strong. Kevin Costner went out in a blaze of glory.
Roger Spottiswoode directs Kurt Russell and Robin Williams in the high-school football comedy The Best of Times, which comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. The closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Mono. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include the trailer, and information on the cast and crew. This is a fine release from Trimark.

I Great film about middle age men looking to capture there one moment in the sun. It's has great comedy and okay story line.
Ernest R. Dickerson's adaptation of The Most Dangerous Game, Surviving the Game, comes to DVD with a pair of transfers. The widescreen transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1, and is preferable to the standard full-frame transfer. The closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a theatrical trailer, as well as filmographies of the cast and crew. This is a fine, but unspectacular release from New Line.

Action pact film with good storyline. There is an all star cast such as Rutger Hauer, Charles S. Dutton, Gary Busey, F. Murray Abraham, and Ice T. The hunters now become the prey and prey the hunters.
Gus Van Sant's Finding Forrester comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround, while a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. Subtitles for both of those languages are accessible as well. Supplemental materials include the HBO making-of featurette, deleted scenes, theatrical trailers, cast and crew biographies, production notes, and (most interestingly) a short featurette abut the discovery of Rob Brown, the unknown who delivers a fine lead performance in the film.
