GregW's Reviews

It's been an intense round. Your team and the enemy have been swapping leads like presents on Christmas. It's down to the wire and it's time for you to show them what you've got. You head toward the center of the map where the action is condensed and people are dropping like flies. You manage to slip into the ruins of a house, head for the second floor and position yourself at the window. You start eliminating targets as they dart across the street. Your blood is flowing, your heart is pumping and adrenaline is surging through your veins. There's only seconds left and you can taste the victory — not to mention a supremely epic K/D ratio. Just as time's about to run out, you hear the sound of footsteps from behind you. You're already shooting as you whirl around and you manage to take him down and save yourself. The screen fades to black and the room fills with the glow of your headset as the cheers and whoops of your teammates fill your ears. Glory is yours. When the action is most intense, you need to be able to rely on your headset to give you the edge. Whether it's the sound of enemy footsteps, breaking glass, suppressed gun shots, tactical respawns or fall damage, it can be the difference between glory and defeat. This Afterglow Universal Prismatic Wireless Headset is tuned by a Hollywood sound-design studio, and features 50mm neodymium speakers that sit inside an angled acoustic cavity for intense audio depth, sonic richness and clarity of sound. To get you even deeper in the zone, the headset features glowing lights that you can set to almost any color. The durable design ensures that they can withstand frequent, long-lasting gaming sessions. So connect to your game console and get ready for explosive action. You've got the advantage of crystal-clear sound on your side.

Great Universal Wireless headphones

I purchased these because I wanted wireless headphones to use when playing games or just watching TV late night. I hadn't come across any reviews that mentioned if this would work on home theater receivers, so, I thought I would mention it here. It does work! I have all my sound running through my receiver (gaming console, TV, BluRay). Plugging this into the 3.5mm headphone jack of my receiver works great as one central point for wireless streaming of sounds. The range is awesome with no static or drops in my 3200+ sq ft home. I do want to point out that I was encountering a low buzz/humm at first when plugging the USB adapter into the USB port of my receiver or into my FIOS receiver. However, when I plugged the USB adapter into a power outlet via an adapter, the humm totally went away.
For someone wanting wireless headphones without spending at least $200, these are awesome. I had considered the Sony PULSE as well, but read numerous reviews with cracking issues after a short while.

I use it in...:Large home

I have a Verizon router with the older wifi G. It's been freezing up a lot lately. Plus the signal upstairs is rather weak. Instead of paying $79 for a newer Verizon router with wifi N, I decided to try this. I must say I am really impressed! The footprint is really small and installation was quick and painless. The wifi signal is really strong, much stronger than I ever had.
Our family has iPhones and an iPad and now this. Although probably a little pricier compared to other routers, I believe it's worth it. Apple products have been really reliable for us.

Very Shortlived

I bought this unit Nov, 2011. We have a lot of brief outages. The outages are just fractions of a second, but enough to kill the internet router, which takes a couple of minutes to reboot. It worked at first, but I noticed in the last few months, the battery backup stopped working. When an outage would occur, none of the equipment would continue to work and the UPS would just emit a very loud annoying beep until I turned the unit off and back on. I only had the internet router, Vonage router and 2 cordless phone base units plugged in. I thought the battery was bad, pulled it out and was going to replace, but the multimeter shows the battery fully charged. So, something on the board must be bad. I went ahead and bought a new, more expensive competitor brand. It's not worth my time or money to get this one fixed.
What's great about it: number of outlets and their spacing
What's not so great: Reliability
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
