Easy to listen to...

In the interest of full-disclosure - I was given this album to listen to and to review. So I didn't have any expectations (good or bad) when I listened to the CD. I've heard some of Sarah McLachlan's music before, but I never bought any of her albums, so I can't make any comparisons to her previous work. That said, I really like this album. I'd categorize it as "easy listening", but it isn't overly mellow. Many of the songs are very upbeat and catchy, and I've even caught myself singing a few of them even when I wasn't listening to it. She has a really beautiful and interesting voice and the music is good too. I'm guessing that if you already like Sarah McLachlan, you'll like this one, and if you don't know her music, you'll still like it. I'd recommend it; it's good.
What's great about it: Beautiful voice, safe to listen to with the kids around
I would recommend this to a friend!

Beautiful Music!

I love this album! I'd never heard of this group before I was given this album to review, so I wasn't too sure what to expect. To be honest, I didn't love it the first few times I listened to is as I'm used to listening to slightly more upbeat, less mellow music - and this is pretty mellow. But that said, after listening to it a few more times it grew on me and I realized these guys are really great! They have an interesting sound; it is mellow, but still catchy. The well-played Kandi is great, as is Amazing and Simple Day - I think those are my favorites! I'd definitely recommend it.
What's great about it: Mellow, but still catchy
What's not so great: Some is a little sleepy

Pretty Good

In the interest of full-disclosure - I was not a fan of Michael Buble when I received this album. I didn't dislike him, I just wasn't that familiar with his work. So, this was new for me. I don't have anything to compare this album with since I don't know his previous works. That said, I liked the album for the most part. I wasn't sure what to expect and there were some catchy tunes, some smooth and relaxing tunes too. Most of the songs I believe are covers of old-time stuff and they were redone pretty well. I could tell what the old song was, but they all had an updated feel to them. And Michael Buble's voice is really beautiful. Overall, I enjoy listening to it.
What's great about it: Smooth, relaxing
What's not so great: Too many covers

Some good, some not so good

This album is a collection of remakes. I thought some were done nicely like Besame Mucho and Mona Lisa. But others I didn't care for - like Just the Way You Are and Close To You. These, for example, are just too classic; too hard to remake without sounding like karaoke. But, it's still Harry Connick Jr. and he has one of the most beautiful voices out there, so overall I liked it.
What's great about it: Harry's smooth and beautiful voice
What's not so great: Some of the songs are too "classic" to be safely redone without sounding like karaoke
I would recommend this to a friend!
