A great screen but annoying Connected software

Age:18-24
Phone size:Large
Mixed bag of hardware. Great display, very very fast, NFC, Google voice commands are great. However the camera sucks. I get blurry pictures all the time and when I don't I get grainy pictures. Just annoying. My HTC HD2 takes way better pictures. Even the iPhone 4s takes better pictures. I don't take many photos but when I need to take one, I want to take one I can Print or look at on my computer with thinking I need a tripod next time. I updated the phone's software and did that HDR option to get better photos, but still its grainy or blurry. But what made me return the is Google Hangouts.
Google hangouts is ... annoying. The phone will invite you to Google+, but you can decline. Then the phone will let you know that Google hangouts is the default SMS and MMS system. To my understanding Google hangouts is a part of Google+ so technically you have to have Google+ to get text messages. I'm like uhh okay? But get this you cant send out pictures to your text messages unless the recipient has Google Hangouts. So instead of texting a photo you will text a person a Google hangout request, Then if they get google hangouts you can text them a picture. But it will default a picture message as a group message with your "friends" based on how you organized your "Google+ circles"... I think? So all of my contacts that have gmail, google+, google hangout, would all receive the same picture text message. Even though I wanted to send out a picture of a part to my co-worker it would send it out to 10 people.
Then the enter button when texting is "hidden". You have to hold the "shift" key and the "emoticon" button will change to the enter button. It doesn't tell you this so texting a grocery list took 30 minuets. I had to google this and search nexus 5 forums.
I know what your thinking: But Zeebo101, why didn't you change your default texting app to something else.
Because it a "flagship phone" and how can Google over complicate Texting? It's stupid. I shouldn't get a new phone and then spend time setting it up and then uninstalling (in my opinion) bloatware that that makes such a pinnacle part of smartphones stupid, hard to work with, and makes me feel that I'm jumping over hoops. I don't want to custom ROM it, change this, that... I just wanted it to answer call, take good (not great... I'm realistic) photos, send picture texts, and get emails out of the box. This phone doesn't do that.

A Great Upgrade

Our old Kenmore refrigerator was acting up so I decided to get a new one. Hated the thing due to the $50 water filter that I could not find anywhere except at a Sears Parts Stores. I originally was sent out to buy the Samsung equivalent...ish model of this fridge that had an extra door for snacks, deli meats, vegetables, ect. Well the sales guy asked me some questions about what I buy in food and informed me that while the Samsung was a great unit, I might like this one due to the dual freezer.
He warned me though that the LG has a small ice maker, but more "space" where you put your food. I asked the sales man if their was a "turbo mode" on the ice maker. He said yes. I asked if the water came out cold. He said very much so. I also asked him if it had an extra tray in the freezer for a bag of ice. He said yes again. So crisis averted.
So after a week of me going to Best Buy with a 6 pack of beer (that turned into a one pack by the end of the week) and a empty gallon of milk to help me envision my future refrigerator I finally caved and got this one... But it's okay. I like it.
I like how bright it is. At night, it's like I'm opening up a treasure chest that glistens LED light. I can see everything that's in the refrigerator without hunting it down. It has a wide tray that I can put my lettuce and carrots all spaced out. The refrigerator beeps if you keep it open too long or if you didn't close it all the way (very nice feature since I'm a bone head sometimes). The door with in a door is great for me. I keep my breakfast items in that door (milk, oj, eggs, milk, oil) that way I can just open that mini door up in the morning and not let the cold out. It's the same thing with the two mini fridges. You can take out what you need and not worry about losing all the coldness because you have to dig threw a big the freezer compartment.
Two things threw me off from the unit. The water spout is in a odd position in my opinion but my family has gotten used to it now. Also DO NOT PUT THE REFRIGERATOR ON THE COLDEST SETTING IF YOU ARE GOING TO PUT VEGETABLES IN THE WIDE, BOTTOM SLIDE OUT TRAY. THEY WILL FREEZE. Remember the part where I said I was a bone head... yeah.
Also I know the people at the store suggest to bring in "food items" in the store so you visualize what you need better; but by the time I did buy the refrigerator most of the sales guys believed I lived off of beer and milk. I found that kinda funny... and how odd of a mixture that is.

Like a Champ

I use it for:Document printing
This printer is great. I prints, prints, and prints.... and prints some more. The color function really helps me out with creating stationary for the small business I work at. Now remember the color isn't really for photo printing. If you want to print photos you need to remember to go into the settings and change the quality and the type of paper you will use. But like I said it's really just a strong work printer that "can" do photo printing. But the BEST PART IS THE EASY WIFI NETWORK SET UP! My job used to have a HP 8500a Plus Pro and my god that thing had so many issues with wifi set up. I would set it up and then a week later it would go off line on the printer side and I would have to reset the thing over and over. We were so frustrated that we moved it to an another area so we could hardwired to a network. But then other issues emerges so we said to hell with this.
We had a Brother MFC-8710DW at another location and I was super impressed with it. It was the main reason we purchased MFC-9130CW.
Setting up this printer was really easy. Installed the software on my laptop and assisted with communicating to the printer. After that it worked... no errors or anything else. The amount of printing to the amount toner we buy is fair in my opinion. We use the color for printing a large amount of custom stationary like letter heads and envelopes. Printing Reports with color is very fast and the communication between the wireless network and the printer is very fast compared to a office line inkjet.
The only thing I will say that I wished it had is the ability to scan to a usb drive. The 8710DW has that and it's a real time saver when you just need a file scanned on the fly so you can email it or print later (without turning on a computer). Scanning on this printer with the auto feeder is the same with any other all in one I have used. Great for a few sheet but you will get some sheets scanned slanted if you start giving it 10 or more. The only scanner that scanned perfectly 100% of the time was the HP 9250c but for almost $3000 for a scanner it better have.
What's great about it: Wifi is very easy to set up.
What's not so great: I think I will never have to "Office Space" this printer...

I use this for college. Primarily Biology lectures. I use the 192kbps mono mp3 format without the noise reduction. I really like how easy it is to connect to my laptop and transfer my recordings to my phone in the mp3 format and listen to them in my car or anywhere. The noise reduction in my opinion sounds like my professor is in a "concert hall" or like a "deep sea effect". Sounds terrible so I never use it. Since you can't upload just audio to youtube, I uploaded a file to soundcloud so you can hear a lecture and get an idea of the quality.

I would really recommend this for college lectures. I would not recommend the silver version of this recorder (the ICDBX132) because you do not get a USB imput; so your recording are essentially stuck to the recorder. However I think I will upgrade to the sony ICDAX412 with the stereo recording with the way better sound filter.

Very impressed with these earphones. The sound is very good and they are actually comfortable. I have a pair of adidas sennheiser OCX 685i SPORTS headphones and they don't sound as good as these. The adidas/sennheiser have a great High and mid but very "meh" or "bleh" low which makes the overall sound disappointing. I have a review about them if you want to hear me nag about them.
Any-who, I bought these guys in an emergency because I left the sennheiser's at home and I needed to get my gym on. I am very pleased about the sound and the fit. Rap, Electronic, 80's Synthesizer music, Funk, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Michael Bolton... all of it Sounds good. It's also a basic left / right stereo sound. No B.S. HD; SUPER BASS; BLAH BLAH BLAH sound.
Now for the draw back. It doesn't get very loud compared to all of my other headphones (Koss Portapro's, Sennheiser, OEM Samsung S3 Headphones) It's kind of a good thing but, it's also a bummer. Sure I can listen my music just fine at an acceptable volume; but you know sometimes when you're at the gym and that one song starts to play you're like... OHHH SNAP! WHAT IS THIS! PHIL.... COLLINS...... SYNTHESISED!!!!!????!?!?! "IN THE AIR TONIGHT".... I need to put this on blast and do this sick set... I'm no longer worn out... I got one mor- no 5 more... Yeah 5 more. I can FEEL IT in the air tonight.... I've been WAITING for this moment for all my life...

Playing it safe with sound quality

had these guys for about a month now. I replaced my old adidas headphones that lasted about 3 yrs. they are comfortable and they dont feel too odd. I always have to play with the size adapters on my left ear to get a better fit.
The sound is clear and balanced. However they do not have a lot of bass. I feel they played it safe by reducing the bass in order to give a cleaner sound. I listen to rap, rock, 90's hip-hop when I'm in the gym or jogging; and I have noticed some songs sound kinda bland. For example "Can't Hold us" my Macklemore starts great but then the bass beat is "soft" in my opinion. I makes it sound like a 90's rock song like "Don't speak" by No Doubt (were you have that subtle bass drum).
"Hot for Teacher" by Van Halen sounds good but its not a bassy type of song.
"Ruff Ryders' Anthem" by DMX sound ok but still has that "soft" Bass.
"Careless Whisper" by George Michael sound extravagantly phenomenal as well as "Get Lucky" by Daft Punk and "Lady in Red" by Chris de Burgh.

WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB BASS!!
on February 5, 2013
Posted by: Zeebo101
from Houston, TX
I got one of these guys for my single cab truck. I REALLY LIKE IT. Its not too overpowering. It helps with the lower frequencies and provides a good overall sound to my truck. HOWEVER I JUST PROVIDES JUST ENOUGH "WUB WUB'S" for my truck. So if your rocking some 15ft long Cadillac Devil or some full size car and want to stick this guy in the trunk, don't even bother. It's not made for that.
What's great about it: Provides good amount of bass for being small.
What's not so great: You need to be realistic.

I've had this phone for about 2 weeks now and I'm still impressed. The speed that this phone has is phenomenal due to the quad core processor. Installing basic applications takes less than a second and larger applications like the RPG video game I have took about 3 seconds. Multi-tasking isn't an issue on this phone. 99% of the time I use the phone for music (mp3, tinyshark, google music, pandora, ect.). I can check my mail, have google navigation running, my music jamming and have no sign of lag or delay on the phone.
The phone is very light and thin. Their is a large difference in the feel and weight of the S3 compared to my HD2 and iPhone 4s; but weight doesn't mean build quality. I'm very certain that if you drop an S3 and iPhone its going to get damaged if you don't equip it with a good case. The only thing is that your toe won't hurt that much with the S3 (in the event you drop it and try to save it with your improvised soccer skills).
You do not get LTE with this international phone. However you can get 4G HSDPA+ 21Mbps. This is a quad band (850/900/1900/2100 MHz) 4G/3G/2G/GPRS phone. 4G/3G is NOT COMPATIBLE WITH T-Mobile!!! T-mobile USA needs 1700 MHz for data; so your stuck with Dinosaur 2G data speed. Your left with AT&T or a prepaid that uses AT&T cell towers if you want 4G/3G data.

I use it just to pass threw pandora or itunes via a home speaker set up we have. The only thing I HATE about this guy is that their is no RCA Input in the front. What is this? Good electric shaver but its wearing out.
on August 13, 2010
Posted by: Zeebo101

I purchased this product because I was tired of spending a good amount of cash on razors. I went to best buy an started out with the $50 Electric Shavers returned that guy the same day. I ended up with this guy a week later and man it's a champ. It takes about 10 min. to fully charge and with everyday use, it can last me a week and a half before it hits the 25% or bellow battery level. Great dry shave with no irritation. The instructions say that you have to use if for a week or two for your skin to get used to the shave but for me it was 2-3 days. I have own this product for about a year and a half now and I have noticed that my shave isn't quite as good anymore. I shave for about 5 minuets or more now trying to get a good close shave. My beard (or the dang patches of what I call my beard) grow in different directions in different areas. When I first got the shaver it was like shaving with a butter knife (easy, no work to it), now I have to really "dig in" with the shaver to get my face and upper neck shaved. When I bought the Shaver it came with a 2 year warranty but, I purchased a Replacement plan from best buy so if I ran to any problems, I wouldn't have to deal with some red tape from the Panasonic or wait 4-6 weeks for a replacement. I will probably get use the replacement plan and get another one. All in all, I still like this shaver, so I will replace it with the same model.
What's great about it: IT HAS THE POWER!!!!
What's not so great: The blade seems to have worn out over time.

After the update to 4.4.2 (a few bugs in 4.4) this is the new standard of Android. There is a lot of new features that I still have not discovered yet.
First is PRINTING. I can print to my home printer (HP) from anywhere now. Easy setup with google cloud printing and it will be waiting there when I get home.
Second is voice search. Just say "ok google" and say what you're looking for. Works great when you don't know how to spell a particular word.
Playing games is great. No lag, or flickering.
Movies are brighter and with HD and Wireless display capability!!
The highlight of the Google Nexus line is: NO BLOATWARE and you get UPDATES FIRST.

I need to be able to sync. audio to video on iMovie..

Will this recorder provide a straight-foreword solution to synchronizing audio to my drone video using iMovie on my Mac, or would I really need a patch - program ?
If you set up the files as mp3 format, it should play nice with iMovie. The software the Sony comes with is for organizing your recordings and basic audio editing. Remember that the audio is only mono. I haven't used iMovie in a long time so I don't remember how hard syncing audio can be. I would try youtube and look on a how to guide. If you're having issues I would recommend trying Adobe premiere pro demo and see if you like it. I have used this program to sync audio to HD video and works really well, but it's pricey.

Brother MFC-9130CW Digital Color Laser All-in-One Printer with Wireless Networking: Complete large print jobs, plus copy, scan and fax documents and photos, with this all-in-one printer. You can connect to your networking using the printer's built-in Wi-Fi, then select the appropriate function using the 3.7" touch screen.

how does laser print cartridges compare to ink jet cartridges in overall cost?

The regular filled toner will cost about $60 (Brother Brand Toner) and print 2500 pages. That's about 2 cents per page for black and white. If you do color its about 10 cents per page.
Remember that you can purchase third party toner with a higher capacity at a lower cost, but you will lose some quality in color prints.

I want to take this fridge to europe. can it handle 240V?
It is rated for 115V AC at 60Hz fused at 15 Amp. So its not able to handle 240V unless you have a good quality voltage converter with a ground.

how do wired speakers hook up? looks like no wire terminals present?

I have a good set of speakers using bare wire connection. Photo shows only RCA jack outputs?? How could I hook up my speakers to this
If you look at the 3rd picture on bby.com you see the speaker connection to the right. You have +,- Right +,- Left; and channel A&B. Those are not RCA inputs they are twist connectors with the option to put banana clip adapters for your wires.

Best dslr lens for canon rebel XTi in low light gymnasium sports?

I have a Canon XTi that I have used for years taking sports, vacation and family pictures. With my kids in high school sports and horrible gym lighting I am frustrated! What is the best lens to use for indoor sports, low light that won't break the bank??
it's not the lens you need to worry about. It's the lighting. Are you using the wimpy flash that comes with the camera? If you are then you need to consider in getting a better, stronger flash that can travel the distance and help with the lighting.

what does SLR mean after Digital

I see cameras that are Digital SLR. I don't know what the SLR stands for.
single lens reflex. It means that when you look at the eyepiece, that is the exact "frame" that will come out with out any modifications due to the camera cropping or digital modification. Some of the new compact SLR's don't really do have one thought like the mini sony slr.
