Exclusive Best Buy Packaging... Big Deal!

I actually like the regular packaging better than this. I should have gotten this at Target where the limited edition Blu-Ray had a bonus disc of extra content. Best Buy dropped the ball on this one.
My 5-star review is for the the Game of Thrones content only. The Best Buy exclusive packaging would be a one-star review.
What's great about it: Game of Thrones is great in every way.
What's not so great: The " Best Buy-Only Exclusive Packaging" stinks.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

ABBA's greatest voice!
on January 22, 2009

Frida has always been my favorite voice in ABBA. Could any voice sound as rich as she does in ABBA's "Knowing Me, Knowing You?"
There is not a single dud on this entire cd. She and producer Phil Collins picked from the hottest songwriters of the day. The Brian Ferry penned-song "The Way You Do" is flawless, as is the haunting, atmospheric "To Turn The Stone." Other highlights are the rocking "Tell Me It's Over" and folk-tinged "Threnody."
As far as the remaster goes, the sound quality is excellent. The bonus tracks in no way add to the total package. I never really cared for the solo version of "Here We'll Stay," the duet with Phil Collins on the original cd. It seems unpolished. The newly included radio/single edit of "I Know There's Something Going On" proves that there is nothing like the original. Some things are better left alone! I LOVE THIS SONG! It finished in the Billboard Magazine Top 20 songs of the year. I did hear an incredible dance remix of this classic track while at a club in London in 2004. It was approximately 10 minutes long and played up the guitars but had a super-fast computerized beat. Where is this version? It should have been included instead of the edit. Also, no review would be complete without mentioning the excellent jazz-influenced "Baby Don"t You Cry No More" and the touching ballad "You Know What I Mean."
I can honestly say that overall, this cd is slightly better than some ABBA cds, the exceptions being "Super Trouper," "The Album," and "Voulez-Vous," of course- all perfect. Buy this cd and enjoy!
What's great about it: "I Know There's Something Going On" - one of the best songs of the 80s!
What's not so great: The great video should have been included.

Awesome guns and amazing bullets! Kate! Bill!

As much as I loved the first film. The opening scene/flashback from the second one is a pure gem. I immediately wished for a prequel and Jan 23rd...I have it!
The werewolves/lycans were explored in greater detail in the second film which was needed, but I suppose that it is easier to make a vampire/Death Dealer sexy than a werewolf.
What's great about it: Modern take on vampire/werewolf lore. Much better than the Blade series, but props go to Buffy and friends (television)
What's not so great: Some characters were not well developed and had little to do but look good in clothes

My favorite soundtrack EVER!

As in my review of the DVD on this site, Xanadu is pure underrated camp fun. I have always loved this soundtrack. "Magic" is perhaps Olivia's best single and "Xanadu" is close. Her songs have stood the test of time and lickily have not become dated as with her later 80s hits. "Suspended in Time" for some unknown reason was never released as a single in the US. It is one of her greatest ballads. The hit Cliff Richard duet, "Suddenly" is another. Their voices blend perfectly. They have recorded together numerous times before and since, but this is their best work together. This cd includes "Dancin" a duet with the Tubes that blends big band and rock. and the big band track "Whenever You're Away from Me" with Gene Kelly.
The ELO tracks, for the most part, are equally brilliant. "All Over the World" and "I'm Alive" were US hits. ELO re-recorded "Xanadu" without Olivia Newton-John's flawless vocals for a UK compilation of their hits a few years ago, which is surprising being that the Olivia/ELO version was their only UK #1! I believe it peaked at # 8 in the US.The Olivia-less version is perhaps the worst song on the UK ELO compilation whereas it is one of the best on their US hits version.
Olivia is touring in 2009! Go see her and see several of these songs live. You won't be sorry.
What's great about it: Olivia Newton-John and Electric Light Orchestra
What's not so great: None of the other tracks that were in the film are included here. (Fool Country, Drums Dreams, etc.)

Major Guilty pleasure

Pure dumb fun! Total camp mythological/fantasy musical, nonsensical plot, KILLER multi-platinum soundtrack: great songs by ELO ( I'm Alive, All Over the World), even better ones by Olivia (Magic, Suddenly, Suspended in Time),the rocking title track by ON-J and ELO, Gene Kelly on rollerskates, an animated sequence. I love this movie!!! Olivia still performs many of these songs live and they are the highlight of her show. Go see her live!
What's great about it: Olivia Newton-John never looked better and her songs are among the best of her career.
What's not so great: Bad reviews scared off the public but it still turned a profit at the box office and when released on VHS.
