A great beginner laptop

I am a gamer and a student. I purchased this laptop for the student half of me and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. The exterior and Star Wars features are SO COOL. Even the packing material is Star Wars themed! I wanted to love this laptop so much. Unfortunately, when I turned the laptop on I was incredibly disappointed by 2 things that I just couldn't get over. The screen was dull and the image looked dingy. Colors weren't showing up right. Coming from laptop with a more high end screen... this was really disappointing. Considering I was going to be using it for school and would need to use it for long periods of time, this just wasn't acceptable. The other disappointment I had was the speakers. The speakers are AWFUL. They are just your basic stereo speakers. No subwoofer. So the sound was horrifically tinny. Also please beware of 5400 RPM hard drives. If you want a fast zippy experience you need a 7200 RPM hard drive or an SSD. Don't settle for a 5400 RPM! I wanted to love this laptop but I had to take it back to the store. I would recommend it though for people whose standards aren't quite as high as mine.

Not Windows 10 Compatible?
on December 8, 2015

Purchased this Wi-Fi adapter for a newly built computer running Windows 10 64-bit. When I tried to install the software using the CD, it kept triggering virus protection. Tried bypassing this. After that, every time I tried to connect to a network my computer would freeze. Tried using my old Wi-Fi stick from 2005 and it worked just fine. Did some research online. Linksys does not have Windows 10 compatible drivers available on their website so I can only assume that this adapter is not Windows 10 Compatible. Returned product to Best Buy and went with a Netgear adapter and it works beautifully. Given the amount of positive reviews for this product, I can only conclude that maybe my experience was one of those weird one off issues but I do have to wonder if it has to do with the Windows 10 compatibility...

"No Cloud Camera was found"

I would like to state that I am very tech savvy and I feel very bad for the people who are trying to use this product who can't say the same. A product that is this poorly implemented should never be allowed on the market. I have never seen a setup wizard so shoddily made. The wizard gives you step by step instructions but never really tells you what to do when something goes wrong. While trying to get this camera set up, I was never able to detect it on my wireless network using the wizard. When I clicked the link to try troubleshooting, the wizard promptly said "Make sure the LED on the camera is lit solid green!" Ok. Well it's not red. But it isn't solid green. It's flashing. Clearly something is wrong if the wizard isn't detecting the camera. I found nothing on their website that helped me resolved the issue. No D-Link. I am not going to call your tech support and sit on the phone for heaven knows how long to get this to work. It is going back to the store for a more competent product that will work out of the box.

Nice product but has some flaws

I absolutely love this. It eliminates the need for having to run wires all the way to the rear speakers which, as everyone knows, is a HUGE pain. The ease of setup is fantastic and the sound quality is good considering it's wireless. But. My biggest issue with this product is that it interferes with my wireless internet. If I have my laptop in any part of the room where this is turned on, the internet will start flipping on and off. Apparently the wireless signal that connects the sender to the reciever somehow interferes with wireless internet signal and I'm repeating myself. Sorry. Ease of use and the fact that it actually works. A+. But this thing with the internet is pretty annoying. Would I recommend it to a friend? Probably, just be aware of the wireless internet issue. Otherwise! Great product! And a great start into a technology that we should have had ages ago! (Maybe make it Bluetooth? I dunno if that would help the internet issue)
What's great about it: Wireless. Enough said. Sound Quality is pretty good for wireless hookup
What's not so great: It interferes with any wireless internet
I would recommend this to a friend!
