Not a bad party game...decent ice breaker...

Picked up my Switch and spent hours on Zelda (Amazing!). Thanks to an awesome deal I got also 1/2 Switch for waaay less than MSRP. Not bad. Some of the mini games are fun, but aside from the initial novelty...this game overall does not have long term replayability (Sadly). This game is a solid 3. Those rating this a 1 because it is not a 'pack in' with the console should be ignored. Give it a year and the Switch will be sold in bundles like the XBONE or the PS4...MS & Sony did not sell their initial consoles with a 'pack in' either for those with long term memory issues.

It's about time THQ/ JAKKs fixed SVR!!!

I have read the other reviews and I have to say that I, too, have been a wrestling 'mark' (fan) since I was a kid. I have played every wrestling game under the sun from Wrestlemania on NES to TNA IMPACT on PS3 and I have to say that SvR 2009 appears to be the best wrestling game in a LONG TIME (including the garbage that was SvR 2007 & 2008).
Let's be fair to TNA IMPACT...it is a GOOD game, but it's no SvR. It is a great beginning for the MIDWAY/ TNA wrestling series, though.
Now, if you haven't got it, go to your nearest GAMESTOP OR EBGAMES and get your SvR DEMO for PS3. It's a great 'teaser' that gives you 4 characters (HBK, Triple H, Matt & Jeff Hardy). The load times are non-existent and the gameplay is tight. Controls are quick to pick up and the graphics are good. There is a little collision detection (A HUGE issue with SvR 2007 & 2008), but it only occurred once during umpteenth plays of the demo. Unfortunately, only normal match types (Single & Tag) are available, but what do your expect from a demo? The Tag Teams are the crown jewel or this game and the demo showcases this well.
If you are a wrestling and wrestling video game fan...pick this up ASAP (and if you don't play...get it for your little brother/ sister to play...it will be like watching WWE Live)
What's great about it: What's to say? Its SvR, baby!

A must have for all PS3 owners...this game has an intriguing storyline coupled with phenomenal graphics and sound. The SIXAXIS controller was a liitle awkward at first in some areas, but you get used to it quickly (arguably why this game was released at PS3 launch...to help condition players to the controller). The only downside to this game is the length.
What's great about it: Phenomenal Game- Graphics and Playability are top notch

Not Bad for a first effort

Overall, the game is fun to play and is basically pretty good. It reminds me alot of the original Smackdown vs Raw series for PS2.
I little glitchy in some collision detection, but not as bad as SvR 2007 & 2008. Single Button controls for reversals can be a hinderance as you are just as likely to fail reversing as succeed. That said, it is almost impossible to reverse your opponent's special.
I have never been a fan of breakaway 'mini-games' (except in God Of War where they make sense) and many submissions can only be stopped by winning a mini game. SvR got it right and thankfully have never changed it in all of their versions...submissions are controlled by tapping a button on the controller by both the aggressor and the defender.
Again, not bad for a first effort. The next game should be spectacular if Midway listens to input from the fans.
What's great about it: Good Graphics. Easy to pick up an play. Ability to play online.
What's not so great: Controls. Limited Character Creation.

THE reason to buy a PSP

I will admit that I was 'on the sidelines' when it came to the PSP. UMD movies are fine, but it really had no games that were ' must have'. That is until GOW. The control scheme is easy to pickup and combos are as they were from GOW & GOW II on PS2. The Gauntlet is easily the best new feature/weapon of this game (sorry Blades of Chaos). The only downside to this game was the length. Since an extended story was sacrificed for gameplay. A must have for all GOW fans and PSP owners. Til GOW III comes on PS3....
What's great about it: A perfect adaptation of the GOW Series for a Hand Held
What's not so great: Too Short....the game can be beaten in one sitting
SynopsisDarkness casts upon the land of Hyrule, where evil lurks around every corner. The peaceful borderlands are in danger and only the powers of one man/creature can defeat such gloom. Link, a young farm boy, is destined to save the kingdom from such tragedy. After being directed by the mayor to attend the Hyrule Summit, Link sets off for the Twilight Realm. Upon his arrival, he transforms into a wolf and is captured. With the magical help of Midna, a mysterious being, Link is set free and off to battle against foul creatures.Besides his trusty sword and shield, Link fights his opponents on horseback with a bow and arrow. Maze-like puzzles stand between Link and the peace of the land, so wits must be sharp to discover hidden weapons and items. As you ride into combat against challenging enemies, your bravery will be tested and a new legend will be born. Use the power and unique control of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller for precise aiming, special sword attacks, shield shoves and even fishing.

The Zelda Legacy Continues...

For any fan of Zelda, this game is AWESOME. The formula works even better on the Wii and the fact that the controller puts you in the action/ character...what can be said?
Is this game 'ground breaking'? No, of course not. Other than the controller, this game uses the same tested formula for gaming goodness. But really...how many games out there are breaking new ground? Other than phenomenal graphics (PS3)...the games are using 'tried and true' formulas (Anyone who claims that Heavenly Sword is revolutionary...go back to sleep...It is merely a prettier version of the God of War genre).
If you enjoy a game that takes some hand/ eye coordination and brain power...Zelda is for you.
What's great about it: If you love Zelda....you will love this game
What's not so great: If you want a quick or easy game...this is not it
